i have recently had a knee operation to fix the cartilage. on investigating they found that my femor and knee cap was in a bad way and worn and in time i will need a knee cap replacement, however thankfully not at the present time. Iam a fit person who teaches amrtial arts. My problem is that it has been weeks since my operation but the knee is still badly swollen and sore and i am still struggling to straighten it and bend it behonf 40 degrees..

After a MRI they have found that I have only MCL in my left knee in tact and need to have a operation to fix this. I have found many people with ACL tears on you tube but can't find info on the problems I have in my knee. Dear Dr. Kantor, My dilemma is not about whether I have MS or not but advice on another procedure I am due to have carried out. In September last year I had problems with my legs to the point of being unable to walk for a time, which ended in being referred to an orthopedic surgeon. An MRI on my knees in January this year revealed that the right knee has some reduced space, bits of bone / debris and a tear in the meniscus cartilage.

After knee replacement surgery done in June 2010 and is still swollen and painful. I cannot walk properly with out pain as was promised.

t understand I thought surgery was suppose to fix it, not make it worse. Now when you look at my left leg/knee it looks croocket and slanted. It doesn't look right.Does anyone know why it stayed like this? I would appreciate your help.

I broke my tib/fib Aug 17 2011. They did surgery the day after. They put a rod in above my knee to my ankle with several pins in the knee and ankle. I since have been back in the hospital 3 times due to excessive pain and swelling. My foot is very numb in certain places to where I cant feel it to the touch. I had shooting pain going from above my ankle to the bottom of my foot They now have me on Gabapentin 300mg. three times a day. You might want to ask the doctor if that will help?

It is good to go in for a corrective surgery as uneven pressure onto the outer and inner part of knee-joints it has been proved to lead to early developed arthritis, as well as to knee pain and progressing deformation.
