1148201 tn?1262165258 After a MRI they have found that I have only MCL in my left knee in tact and need to have a operation to fix this. I have found many people with ACL tears on you tube but can't find info on the problems I have in my knee. Where could I see an operation to fix all ligaments if it can be done as will see my Doc soon to discuss the options and would like to know what they are before we do speak?
Avatar m tn on investigating they found that my femor and knee cap was in a bad way and worn and in time i will need a knee cap replacement, however thankfully not at the present time. Iam a fit person who teaches amrtial arts. My problem is that it has been weeks since my operation but the knee is still badly swollen and sore and i am still struggling to straighten it and bend it behonf 40 degrees..

Avatar m tn Hello, I have had 3 arthroscopies on my left knee to repair my lateral horn meniscus in September 2009, January 2014 and March 2015. Each time after the operation and recovery my knee begins to feel good and strong again. After 1 and a half year since my last operation my knee has felt great, however 5 days ago I squatted down (asian squat toilet), and instantly knew I had torn the cartilage again. Since this moment my left knee has a constant ache/throb.
634733 tn?1316625992 In September last year I had problems with my legs to the point of being unable to walk for a time, which ended in being referred to an orthopedic surgeon. An MRI on my knees in January this year revealed that the right knee has some reduced space, bits of bone / debris and a tear in the meniscus cartilage. This was anticipated as it has given me problems for approximately 12 years. An arthroscopy was recommended and is booked to go ahead on 1st May.
Avatar m tn Ibuprofen and acetopminophen will kill dogs and cats. Acetisalicylic aciid (regular plain aspirin) IS safe for dogs in the correct dose. Check with your vet to see what the appropriate dose would be for your dog based on his breed, age and general condition.
Avatar m tn The vet advised that this was not a lump but his bone and that the muscle tissueon the side of his face has wasted away due to nerve damage in his Jaw. He had aan operation to move a growth inside his mouth last year could this be cause of the nerve damage , the nerve being severed or damage during the operation. The vet has now put him on steroids .
Avatar m tn i have 7 knee operation on my left knee, acl repaired and both cartlidges removed , cannot stand more than a couple of hours at a time. cant straighten it and cannot bend it more than 45 degrees is a knee replacement in my near future.
Avatar m tn Gallbladder surgery in dogs is a very serious undertaking. Since your dog is a senior, healing is going to be even slower. The one thing I'm concerned about is your statement that he is passing urine through his wound. There is no way that should be considered normal at all. Please call your veterinarian, and if you don't get a solid answer, take your dog to a different vet for evaluation.
Avatar f tn Surgical repair for torn meniscus of L' Knee. 3 months post-op it buckled, caused tear during fall to R' Knee and meniscus was surgically repaired but has also failed, although the surgeon refuses to order an MRI to "prove" this latest injury. Pain is an issue as I am allergic to all pain meds ordered to date and take nothing for the pain levels of 9-10. Before injury both knees were healthy, minimal arthritic changes on MRI's in spite of age 58 and obesity.

193137 tn?1367880063 I had a similar problem and I felt the same, thinking it was cruel to knee my dog in the chest. When I tried it out I got him in the head a couple of times. But eventually it worked. Still he likes to jump but now it is in front of me and not on me. Good luck.
Avatar n tn Well, without knowing the relevant clinical details or a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to identify the cause of knee pain in your case. Possibilities include chondromalacia, tendonitis, bursitis, fractures, patellar dislocation, injuries to the internal knee ligaments/ menisci, infections/ inflammations, arthritis, cyst formation, bone growths/ tumours, nerve injuries etc; just to name a few.
Avatar f tn The USDA released a report in May after inspectors visited 68 breeders in eight states said dogs across the U.S. were living and dying in horrific conditions. The report also said the Animal Care unit of the Animal and Plan Health Inspection Service, the agency responsible for enforcing the Animal Welfare Act, often failed to penalize puppy mill owners, even in repeat cases. Avatar m tn Around 6yrs ago I had full reconstructive surgery on my right ACL. Completed the full rehab, fine. Played football very regularly for years after, high intensity a few times a week as well as attending the gym. A year ago I tore my left ACL and had full reconstructive surgery on that. Did full rehab on that, fine.
4966610 tn?1362054308 I have a toy/mini poodle named Shadow who is over 12 years old. He weighs 12.5 lbs. He has several serious medical issues including a luxating patella (trick knee) on his right rear leg. Because of his age, and his medical condition, I don't want to chance surgery to repair this as there is more of a risk of fatality from surgery and or anesthesia as he gets older. Unless there is some dire need for surgery, I am looking for a non surgical solution for this problem.
Avatar m tn My mother had full knee replacement surgery around october. The operation seems to have been a success. But a few weeks after the operation she developed diahrrea. It has now lasted more than 2 months. She has lost 14 pounds. All tests come back negative. SHe has taken several medicines aND probiotics. Her diahrrea is watery. Not solid at all. She goes 4 times a day sometimes more. She has gone 10 times in half a day at some point . Has not taken antibiotics since the operation.
Avatar f tn 1 week post op the nurse noticed my wounds didnt look too good and my knee was overly swollen and the pain i was in was unreal... I was started on some antibiotics and started physio... 2weeks post op, physio really couldnt do much with how swollen my knee is and how much pain I am still in. 3weeks post op I finally get an emergency post op appointment with my surgeon, he drains 150ml of fluid from my knee and also did blood tests.
1279419 tn?1271197281 plate on fibula and 13 screws,i am home now after 3 operations,my worry is that after the first operation i woke up in serious pain in my ankle, doctors new something was wrong so was takin back down to operate on again, the surgeons had damaged a nerve in my foot near my ankle nd the screws were still touching off the nerve after the operation, since the first operation my foot was numb nd couldn't move my toes,4 weeks on i can just about have feeling in my foot, only slightly in area's and
Avatar m tn Yes, we shown to the another doctor as per him, the infection cannot be remove through the medicines and need a re operation with antibiotic cement filings, to remove the PUS and to keep it for another 4 to 6 months and in stage II go for the re fix of the knee or can go for the fusion.
