Knee joint out of socket

Common Questions and Answers about Knee joint out of socket

knee

Avatar n tn The most common cause of popping joints is joint friction. when two pieces of bone in a joint, such as a ball and socket, rub against one another as you move. Sometimes it is also cartilage rubbing on bone. According to yoga instructor Paul Grilley, writing for Yoga Journal, joint friction is usually no cause for concern. You might not want to go out of your way to do it, but in the normal course of life it is harmless.
Avatar n tn My father in law had both knees replaced a couple years ago and he has done great. But I know another man who had a double knee done, decided the therapy was too painful, and now he can't walk at all. The key to knee replacement is to diligently do your post-surgical physical therapy no matter how bad it hurts. I'm pretty sure my FIL did his much longer than 4 weeks. He remains as active as possible - golf, ballroom dancing, and especially bike riding.
Avatar m tn Considering the history of my back condition, is it possible that this socket is indeed moving, as i have burning pain in the exact area at the top of the hip socket.
Avatar m tn When I sat, I bent my knee and my knee just... locked? I felt like some bone came out of socket and stick out of my skin. I flinched and extended my leg and it snapped back. It has happened every time since then when i bend my knee. The pain is EXCRUCIATING. My doctor is out of town until next Saturday and I only feel comfortable with him. I've tried almost every other orthopedic surgeon in my area and I am dissatisfied with their level of professionalism and helpfulness.
Avatar m tn My knee cap produces a cracking sound as if its out of socket. these pain don’t last for more than 2 minutes, also i feel numbness on one side of my back. like i said it all started on the 4th of September and i went for test on the 6th of September and was tested negative on HIV rapid blood test but still very worried since they said muscle and joint pain is one of the major symptoms of early HIV. the other symptoms i am having is blurry vision and unable to maintain my balance.
Avatar f tn T THINK IT WILL GET ANY BETTER UNTIL THE KNEE JOINT IS LINED BACK UP AGAIN DUE TOT HE BONE OF BONE. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?
Avatar f tn -There is indication of a recurrent tear in the ring of cartilage (labrum) that follows the outside rim of the socket of your hip joint. (the labrum acts like a rubber seal or gasket to help hold the ball at the top of your thighbone securely within your hip socket). It is not sure if this could cause the patient's pain -There are no indications to suspect a bone fracture.
Avatar m tn Therese, sometimes a very large yawn can pop the mandible (jaw bone) out of its joint socket, stressing neighboring tendons and the ligaments that hold the mandible in place. Some people report hearing a loud 'pop' when this happens. This is called "hyperextension" of the mandibular joint, and can be very painful. There are also large nerves that enter the mandible near this joint, and pass through the large masseter muscle used for chewing.
Avatar f tn s possible for it to go in and out frequently, which is KIND of good because if it went out and stayed out he would absolutely have to have surgery to survive. In either the luxating patella or hip dysplasia, the ultimate outcome will be surgery, however since he is so small, it isn't as critical that he be operated on as immediately as it would be if he were a large dog.
Avatar f tn just follow the dds instructions and youll be fine, trust me like i said you will have no doubt in your mind if you get dry socket. havening knee sx was less painful then going through that for a whole 7 days! thats how long i had it...
Avatar f tn 12 years ago I had an MVI where the head of my femur was pushed out of the joint (left side). I was driving a stick shift and on impact, I was pushing the clutch in, the force caused the head of my femur to be dislocated. At the ER they had to sedate me so that they could hyperextend my leg to get it to "pop" back into the socket. Recently, I have experienced severe pain in the joint and it seems to run down the outside of my thigh to my knee.
Avatar m tn By giving way i mean i can just be standing talking to somone and a electrical jolt like thingy goes through my knee and i almost collapse as my knee shifts out of place.
Avatar f tn m still dealing with the same things but since the spasms etc this is an everyday issue instead of the after affect of putting them through a work out. Knees are now locking up or popping out multiple times a day and with the balance problems too, i sometimes I end up walk/hobbling around in a circle until the offending knee works its self out. lol So yes i have it too but i dont think for me it has anything to do with MS but i do think the MS related issues are not helping the situation any.
Avatar m tn I began to get pain in my toe joints, when this occurred, I must have started to compensate for this by putting more stress on my knees. Currently, I have a lot of knee pain, with my left knee hurting much more than my right. However, my right knee also hurts depending on how it is used; additionally, it also cracks (without pain), when I use it.
Avatar f tn hey kavi, how are you?i first of you need to increase on your muscle strength, dothe following use a warm water towel and follow it with massage of your knees statics for your quadriceps(pushing your knees down), full range of movement for the knees in supine lying(lying on your back),sitting on the edge of the bed, later use 1kg weight and perform the bending and straightening of the legs, reduce on walking because you have to stay from aggravating factors.
Avatar f tn I have been experiencing hip pain for a couple of months now and it felt like it was my joint going out of the socket and back in like you said. However, it only happens if I do certain things. If I am going to stand up and lean to far to the left, if I bend down from a standing position and reach to the left I get this pain. It usually hurts for several hours and sometimes into the next day.
1160227 tn?1263598397 But now, for the past two weeks, he has been having the feeling of his hip popping out of place or joint? Feeling like it may come out of place??? What could this be? He says he has never really injured it or anything... What can he do for this particular problem? Exercises or stretching? Vitamins? Please let me know if there is anything I can recommend for him to do.
Avatar n tn This could have been a hip flexor injury, but that should have healed with rest and the PT shold have helped. I am suspicious of a torn labrum, the lip of cartilage that surrounds the hip socket (acetabulum) You didn't mention if your MRI was an arthrogram or not. An arthrogram is preceedd by injection dye in the joint. If not you should have one.
Avatar m tn Recently been getting pain radiating from my shoulder down my ribcage and a grinding feeling and some times and audible noise. Rarely tho it feels like it is trying to come out of socket.
1088527 tn?1425313375 My hips have ached on and off for years, but in the last month I now have severe pain in the outer side of my right hip. I do get fleeting pain through the knee joints on either side. No pain in the joints of the upper part of my body. I badly fractured my left arm as a teen, snapping the ball off the bone (humerus) that goes into the shoulder socket.
Avatar f tn Severe joint pain in the knee and later also in the fingers. The knee thing turned out to be ostenecrosis where the femur of my right leg was dying. now I think this was all caused by the Tamoxifen, but what matters is that my vit D was very, very low, and it is in many people with cancer and bc. After I found supplements that were effective, and the D normalized, my leg and knee went back to normal. it just started one day without any injury or provocation and it stopped the same way.
Avatar f tn if any of you are having joint pains that move around from one joint to the other where the joint feels stiff or swollen and you cannot put your weight on it because it is so painful eg knees, then i would suggest that you have a blood test to see if you have any food allergies. for several years i had what seemed like osteoarthritis and was told by doctors to just live with it as it is part of the wear and tear and aging process.
Avatar n tn I'm begainning to think all these forums out there are all b.s. Nobody gives any straight answers to anyone. I had a THR 15 yrs ago and up untill last Sept it was fine. It started popping out of joint so I went to a "referred Doctor" and was told I need a revision surgery because the socket has dislodged. Blue Cross had a hard time finding a doctor to do this revision surgery and mind you I'm in pain here waiting for them to find someone.
Avatar f tn Hi there :) have flare-up of osteoarthritis in knee after being diagnosed formally when I had an arthroscopy a few months ago. Just wondered how long pain and subsequently being out of action may last for? Any thoughts or ideas would be helpful. Thank you so much.
Avatar m tn Myxoid degeneration of medial meniscus posterior horn with knee joint effusion and suspected partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament for which clinical correlation is adviced". I get only right knee MRI due to its cost, but I'm suffering of similar pain on both knees. What does this mean? Is there any treatment I can do at home to relief the pain? Thanks!
