Avatar n tn For about a week now I have been getting a knee cramp in my left knee joint. I feel trembling and one second into the trembling I feel pain similar to when you get Charlie horse cramp in your leg, instead right in the knee.
634733 tn?1316625992 Anyway, my question is that I am aware that I have arthritis in my right knee and that continues to get worse and I have now been told I am heading for a TKR in the future, so just to grit my teeth for now and take painkillers (great when you are allergic to codeine). But some days the pain I feel in other parts of my body is totally our of proportion to anything I have done.
Avatar f tn Hi there, I was riding a horse and my foot got caught on a panel and the horse kept going. This happened 3 days ago. It's hard to walk. I have swelling and pain on the inner side of my knee. I can bend my knee approx 45°. When I'm sitting or laying down I can straighten my leg but when I'm standing I can't seem to straighten it. My knee cap feels awkward when I try to. When I stand up from sitting i get an excruciating pain and blood rush feeling through my knee.

Avatar f tn With a meniscus tear (torn cartilage) in your knee, the shock absorbing capacity of the joint is threatened. Because of this, there is an increased risk of developing damage to the articular cartilage surface of the knee joint bones. Therefore, any lifestyle changes to decrease your risk of developing arthritis can improve the prognosis after having sustained a meniscus tear.
Avatar f tn Severe joint pain in the knee and later also in the fingers. The knee thing turned out to be ostenecrosis where the femur of my right leg was dying. now I think this was all caused by the Tamoxifen, but what matters is that my vit D was very, very low, and it is in many people with cancer and bc. After I found supplements that were effective, and the D normalized, my leg and knee went back to normal. it just started one day without any injury or provocation and it stopped the same way.
Avatar f tn I can pin-point exactly where the pain is (it moves around the knee and elbow joint) just by touching it. I can also feel a constant throbbing pain without even touching my knees or elbows. I have not been responsive to icing it, physical therapy, several anti-inflammatory medications, a cortisone shot, prescription pain medication, and fibromyalgia medication (Lyrica). I have never experienced any sort of swelling nor do I feel stiff in my joints.
Avatar f tn About 3 weeks ago I got bucked off a young horse and somehow injured my knee. It has pain on the I side mcl area and I am unable to bend it past 90° and I am unable to completely straightin it out. It feels pretty stable.

Avatar f tn Hi there :) have flare-up of osteoarthritis in knee after being diagnosed formally when I had an arthroscopy a few months ago. Just wondered how long pain and subsequently being out of action may last for? Any thoughts or ideas would be helpful. Thank you so much.
Avatar f tn Meniscii too if torn or injured, result in joint instability—that is you are not confident the knee joint will take your weight. Often the person feels a popping sensation on moving the joint. It can also be tendinitis due to inflammation of tendon at the knee joint. Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into.

Avatar m tn My horse was just diagnosed with an OCD lesion in his fetlock joint on his front leg. I was given 2 options and I am wondering if anyone can give me their opinion from their personal experience with this condition. The first option is to inject the fetlock joint. The second option is surgery. Neither option offers any guarantees. This is a pleasure horse that is 5 years old and up to this point has been ridden lightly about 4-5 days a week. Thanks for your time.
Avatar f tn Do any of you have joint pain that is associated with your MS? My right knee is giving me a terrible time but it seems to be more joint related than muscle related. Just thought I would ask! Hope you all are doing well and survived the holidays! Thanks!
5245618 tn?1365687749 Often the person feels a popping sensation on moving the joint. It can also be tendinitis due to inflammation of tendon at the knee joint. All these (ligament and meniscal injury and tendonitis) can cause referred pain to calf. The other cause for the pain can be compartment syndrome due to injury or inflammation of leg muscles due to over use. The pain is increased on putting the foot on ground and further increase with walking. You will need X-rays and MRIs of the knee to find the exact.
Avatar f tn Patients with a loose total knee joint limp. The pain is usually felt in the whole knee area, predominantly in the front, along with increasing stiffness and effusion in the knee joint. With advancing time patient will not be able to put weight and diminished motion in the joint. Diagnosis can be made with the help of X-rays. Revision operation can be considered if there is unbearable pain, progression of osteolysis and loss of function.
Avatar m tn If it is just occasionally popping with no pain, it could be nothing and some exercise like knee bends could strengthen your knee. On the other hand, it is painful too especially with swelling you may want to see a doc. If your knee is making a grinding noise for example it could mean that the cartilage is wearing down. Especially if this continues to bother you check with your pcp or an orthopedic specialist before exercising or anything!

Avatar f tn It is quite possible that there is rubbing of either cartilage or bones with the metal or plastic components of the artificial knee joint. Once you go to sleep, the muscles become lax and make it easy for the joint to be more mobile. You may need physiotherapy to further strengthen the muscles around the knee joint. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn Hi there, A complete clinical examination is essential for correct diagnosis. There can fluid within the knee joint itself, or in the surrounding soft tissue. Acute injuries, anterior cruciate ligament tear, meniscal tears, ligament sprains all can lead to fluid or blood accumulation around the knee joint. If there is no history of trauma any infection in the knee joint can lead to swelling.
