Avatar f tn I twisted my knee and when it happen I heard and felt a pop on the inside of my knee. Also, now when I walk, I have pain and crackling on the outside, under the knee. When I am walking and I have to turn or piviot, I get a pain that runs the inside of my knee. And now I can just be standing there and my knee feels like it is really loose and feels like I hyperextended in, the knee pushes back. How ling should I wait to go to the doctor or should I continue to try and heal it myself.
Avatar f tn Right when I walked out of the office that day, my knee started popping on the inside part of my knee- which was never a problem before- and then gave out on the outside again. I was in so much pain, and couldn't walk for a week. The doctor prescribed me darvaset, but even that didn't work. The inside of my knee burned and hurt to even touch at that point. I got an MRI after that visit. When I went back to see my Dr.
942127 tn?1276949209 Is there any reason why my right foot would have pain in relation to the left knee injury? I can walk (sort of) on my toes, but cannot walk with my foot flat to the floor. The pain is from the inside across the bottom arch area to the outside closer to the heel. It hurts a little up into my leg.
Avatar n tn The clicking seems to be closest to the lateral posterior outside of the left knee, near the upper calf. Possibly meniscus related. A couple months ago I injured my left knee doing lunges. The pain was really bad, both the front and back of the knee. I never experienced clicking/popping in that knee prior. But suddenly it was happening all the time. As the pain subsided the clicking/popping got worse. It has been a couple months, the clicking/popping still very much there.
Avatar m tn I had a basketball injury today- a player ran his knee into the side of my knee. I went down immediately. I thought it was a knee injury b/c that is what hurt first. Then the pain moved down my leg to the top of my ankle just above the foot. Then the pain moved back up just below the knee to the outside of my upper calf - between the calf and the shin bone. My left side is sore and has a numming feeling. What do you think this injury is?
Avatar n tn I can walk and run on it fine, and have not experienced any swelling or other problems. I cannot feel any abnormalities on the outside. The pain is on top of the knee. Even pushing on a certain area it is is sensitive. What do you think?
Avatar n tn I would describe it has very uncomfortable, frustrating and it just plain hurts. My doctor took x=rays of knee which were normal and gave me shot in knee which didn't help.
Avatar m tn I've recently started skateboarding again its been about 4 months and I usually skate at most twice a week. Lately I've been feeling pain on the outside of my right knee after about an hour of skating. I've realized I usually land on my right leg if I'm jumping off a trick that I know I'm not going to land and this happens repeatedly. My right leg is my front leg when skating so when I land on it I'm also stopping my forward movement.
Avatar m tn But from yesterday I am having sharp pain in the outside portion of my left knee cap. It is fine if the knee is at rest or folded, but everytime I try to straighten my leg or walk, I feel the pain in the knee. While walking if I keep my knee bent a little, the pain lessens. I remember no external injury or any other strain on my legs. There is no outside pain or swelling. Also, my knee feels stiff, like the locked knuckles which you bend and crackle to make it normal.
Avatar n tn However I still have severe swelling by the end of the day and I have a bulge on the lower outside of the knee that is always there (much more pronounced by the end of the day). It is also very stiff if I extend the leg fully or bend it back completely. The doctor mentioned arthritus however does that just happen overnight and should I be getting a MRI done?
Avatar n tn The best course of treatment for an injury to the knee joint caused by a twisting force depends upon the exact nature of the damage sustained. This can vary tremendously from a simple sprain to an internal ligamentous or cartilage tear. In principle the initial treatment involves RICE, rest, ice packs, compression and elevation of the leg.
5289415 tn?1391257241 Your particular back injury may not have any assocation with your knee problem, but there is some pinching of a nerve somewhere. Only a visit to the doctor for a full medical examination will be able to give you the correct answer and how to get it treated or a referral to the physiotherapist for advice and exercise to help alleviate your symtoms.
Avatar f tn If it is a chronic pain you have to rule out conditions like muscle or tendon injury to your quadriceps or injury to any of the ligaments in the knee. It can be conditions like bursitis or also nerve involvement. I would suggest you to follow up with an orthopedician for an examination. Take care!
Avatar f tn the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), medial collateral ligament (MCL), and the medial meniscus.
Avatar m tn Temporary relief would come from rubbing the knee cap gently, primarily on the inside of the knee. I began running again in the summer (8 months post injury) and immediately noticed that I had some new pains associated with running. The head of the fibula bone at the knee would feel sharp pains, on and off, unexplainably. A similar pain would shoot up the underside of my leg, near the outside of the leg by the IT band, but not the IT band.
Avatar m tn Now pain located vicinity of lateral collateral ligament and behind knee. Sharp pain behind knee upon straightening/standing. Also pain behind knee hen bending (I.e. Getting in an out of car, drivers side). Flexing foot to put shoe on cause sharpe pain around lateral collateral ligament. Knee slightly swollen an somewhat warm. Any ideas.
Avatar m tn It has had extensive physical tests and on the third day in i hurt my knee. The pain was sharp and intense the day i hurt it on the outside of my knee. My knee never buckled or twisted or popped to indicate something bad happened. I was just walking up stairs after a short jog about 100m and my knee began to lock up and have intense pain that day. I fought through the pain that day and made it to the next day of training.
Avatar n tn Hi! I'm sorry to hear about your knee. It sounds to me like either a ligament or possibly cartilage. Does it feel unstable or is it still giving out on you? Does it ache after sitting for long amounts of time? Is your pain off to the side of the knee or under your knee cap? These answers may help me know better.
1587585 tn?1309432260 If yes then which kind of knee braces/support? (because I usually tend to injure my knee with the elastic knee supports more often than without it). 4) Would Yoga, magnet therapy or any kind of therapy help heal the knee joint? Thanks in anticipation...
Avatar m tn Doctor said “soft tissue injury”, knee sprain, but lots of cartilage in the knee. A few weeks on crutches, a few weeks doing exercises in rehab, and using a knee support, and the knee was pretty good. By September 2023, when we went on vacation, things were pretty good. On vacation, more walking, and developed some knee pain in my LEFT knee. But again, nothing that kept me from doing things (used ice, Voltaren, acetaminophen).
Avatar f tn Hello, I've just started having pain on the outside of my right knee I was playing boo with my son when I first felt a sharp pain, over the week each time I kneel down I feel a hard throbbing pain, when rubbed it throbs and also when bent, when the leg is straight it's fine! My knee clicks now and again and when I feel the knee cap it feels like it's grinding, does anyone have any ideas what this could be, my partner seems to think it could be my cartilage!
Avatar f tn t hurt too bad but flex the knee and it has sharp pain like i have walking up and down stairs because of the knee caps. I sit in a normal position but lifting foot causing lots of pain around knee cap. I'm guessing I probably pulled something. Have put ice on it and taken ibu. I don't know that there is much a dr. would do but just wonder what I could have pulled.
Avatar n tn In the beginning of august I had a bad fall. I was put in a knee splint. After an MRI it looks like I have a grade 3 MCL tear. Prior to that, I've had habitual dislocation of the patella. Today, the doctor said I might have never had a connected MCL since my knee would "travel" with every step (and I could walk and function completely normally, before the injury).
Avatar f tn I awoke to a strong burning along the outside of my right leg from my knee to my hip. When I reached down to touch it, it was numb! No surface feelings at all. My lower back hurts so I wonder if they are connected?
Avatar m tn I'm 32 and I've never had any sort of leg, knee, or joint problem. Lately I've noticed that when I plant my left foot and pivot on it to turn my body to the right, my left knee makes a popping sound. In the last few days I've noticed that I can feel something move in the same knee when I walk down stairs. It feels like it's located to the left (outside) of the center of the knee. The right knee doesn't have any issues.
