Avatar m tn My question is is that i had passed about 7 or 8 kidney stones in the past 10 years and i'm wondering if taking these vitamins will somehow hurt my kidneys or possibly cause me to get more kidney stones? In the past the stones were analyzed and were calcium deposits. Heres what i'm taking: B-Complex Magnesium(500mg twice a day) zinc (50mg) 2 multi mineral vitamins Thanks everyone, I love this site.
Avatar n tn Do I add the maintenance supplements–flaxseed, calcium, magnesium, vitamin B6, and zinc/copper–on a long-term basis. Will I have less getting the kidney stone again? How much calcium and zinc do I take?
Avatar n tn For low back pain and abdominal pain, conditions like kidney infections, urinary tract stones, appendicitis, spine disorders have to be ruled out. Seek consult with your primary physician for a complete assessment and diagnostic tests.A warm compress over the area and OTC analgesics may be able to help temporarily. Do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn hi i have white dots on my nails for more then 5 months now, they wont go, i was being investigated for liver issues but it turns out it was fatty liver, i decided to start losing weight and stuff, wel i lost 2 stones quite rapidly, could this have caused the dots? but its been a good few months i havent lost weight, i have gone back to my normal diet too, i heard liver issues can cause them but are rare and kidney disease, would this be due to the rapid weight losss? some kind of defficiency?
168348 tn?1379360675 I'm not too well versed but if ok with my kidney stones (cannot take some supplements bcz I create calcium oxalate stones) I am willing to take something to help with the muscle cramps I am getting. It proceeded into a full blown charlie-horse in the calf this morning ..... any thoughts? I'm game to try something o-t-c! All my minerals, vitamins, etc., were good when tested in November with the Endo .. this also included 24hr urine study done by Urologist and all was normal then.
1916673 tn?1420236870 For example, BUN can be raised due to other illnesses that have affected the kidneys or due to kidney stones, tumors or bladder paralysis (usually caused through injury to the spinal cord). Severe dehydration can also cause BUN levels to become high, though this is easily determined, because Creatinine levels tend to remain normal.
3060903 tn?1398568723 raw egg shelledThe fact is that most supplements on the market are toxic. It doesn’t matter how many milligrams of calcium a supplement has if it causes kidney stones. And while supplementing your diet with calcium can rid the body of many common health ailments, taking the wrong kind of calcium overtaxes the body and can actually cause arthritis and many other degenerative diseases.
Avatar m tn For several months I have had sudden onsets of nausea with sweating around face, neck and forehead. I recently had some kidney stones. Also I had bloodwork and was advised by doctor that my protein was too high snd I needed to see a Nephrologist. What could this mean?
Avatar m tn o Kidney stones induced by trauma: 1999 : severe bleeding, very small stones passed.
1480722 tn?1287559272 I use to get charlie horses at night, but I have started taking Mag.Calcium and Zinc. that seems to help but now I get kidney stones more frequently. My legs ache and I wish I could walk more but because they ache I talk myself out of it. I don't think there is anything you can do about it. I guess you just traded one problem for another. I have a few memory issues, but I am in my early 60's. I just assume that I have a lot on my mind. At least that is what I hope it is.

Avatar f tn R thinking I had kidney stones, only to find out that I did but they were lodged up in my kidneys and pretty big- bilateral stones left 3mm and the right 4mm but he assured me that wasn't what was causing my pain. He told me they're way up there and haven't decended yet. He sent me to a urologist to see if blasting them was an option. It wasn't. The urologist took an X-ray of my kidneys and said if they show up we'll do it, if they don't then we'll wait. They didn't show up.
Avatar f tn Well to answer your questions, I've been taking oxycodone 5mg at least five pills a day for over 6 months now. It all started with kidney stones. Doc was prescribing me 90 at a time until I could pass the stones. Well the stones are gone and the addiction is here. It is so awful!
Avatar n tn Get a thorough STD check because things like Chlamydia can mimic bladder infections sometimes. Also, consider kidney stones, they can cause many of the same symptoms as UTIs and they can cause UTIs. I recently got married and became sexually active for the first time (yes, I'm an old fashioned girl=) and have had not stop vaginal issues similar to yours for months now. It is pretty normal to have some issues when you begin having sex or change partners, but it shouldn't last that long.
Avatar n tn lithium, used in bipolar disorder; penicillamine, used for rheumatoid arthritis, kidney stones, and too much copper in the body; plus some drugs used in cancer treatment. In the absence of other symptoms, it is unlikely that a metallic taste in your mouth indicates serious disease. But if you haven't had a thorough general checkup recently, I would suggest seeing your doctor to rule out any undiagnosed health problems. Hope this helps and Good Luck!
200220 tn?1361955154 Usually too much calcium isn't a problem (unless you are prone to kidney stones) excess calcium is flushed out through the urine. Blood tests are the best way to see if you are getting enough. http://health.yahoo.com/other-other/calcium-ca-in-urine/healthwise--hw27965.

335728 tn?1331418012 I only know this because I was on Htcz (not for bp but for the side affects) to reduce kidney calcium because I'm a kidney stones grower, lol Can you ask specifically what calcium it was?
Avatar f tn Drink plenty of water, and look into the amino acid protocol (link at bottom of page) for things to help. B-complex vitamins, calcium/magnesium/zinc supplement, plenty of protein. Get some mild exercise and a hot soak with epsom or a hot shower will relieve most of the misery for a bit. Take care and keep posting! You're through the worst of it so you will start to see that light very soon! hang in there.
4939681 tn?1361302899 P I purchased zinc supplements from Swisse which also contains vitamin B6, vitamin A, magnesium, manganese. The zinc is 25mg and vitamin A is 1250IU. Label says to take supplement once a day. I love calcium rich foods but i am deficient again (very positive chvostek sign) along with vitamin D deficiency.
Avatar f tn I just received the results of my second MRI and no lesions were found, although there were other issues including Mild posterior disc osteophyte complex from C3-C7 (I'm 39, so I was a little surprised by this). As an aside, I had two CTscans in 2014 for kidney stones and hematuria- in April my spine was normal, but six months later it showed mild levoscoliosis. I've researched a ton and have read that spinal changes are common in MS, so I'm really not feeling good about this.
Avatar f tn I have chronic low calcium, but over the lst year it has been higher. I had kidney stones last year, so I am wondering if my excess calcium has affected my gallbladder. I also get irregular beats more with my pains too.
148354 tn?1211237506 I've always had stomach probs(ibs) but nothing like this,I controlled it with fiber/diet and tolerated it.Had many kidney stones, this pain is so much worse than those, most of time I'm not constipated, but I always feel like I'am along with severe rectal pain and pressure with hip pain, starting to wonder maybe if its pinched nerve in my back, think next step my dr wants is mri if these recent tests dont reveal anything.
Avatar m tn One gram (1,000 milligrams) two or three times daily for adults and a minimum of “20 milligrams per pound” for children. (The “vitamin C causes kidney stones” myth has been largely disproven.) But will vitamin C prevent infection? Results of research are decidedly mixed, but there’s general consensus that, even if it doesn’t actually prevent infection, it definitely reduces the length of time spent being ill and the severity of symptoms in cases of infection. Echinacea.
Avatar f tn Your hyperparathyroidism is causing the hypercalcemia so I presume that you have to be very careful for your kidneys not to form kidney stones. You will need to get your doctor to order a blood test to check your thyroid level. At the same time it may be a good idea to have your kidney and liver function checked as well and any other blood test the doctor feels is appropriate. I also take the lactobacillus acidophilus + others in a capsule as well as drink yogurt.
Avatar f tn I also have a bad back and do take a lot of ibuprophine but I would think the endoscopy would have revealed any damage. I do get more then my share of UTIs and passed kidney stones last year. could there be any connection there? I'm pretty positive that I have IBS. Didn't know that existed until recently. Have just thought that I have a very sensitive stomach.
Avatar m tn I have had the before but it was normally lower down the shaft on the inside. I have Kidney stones often and have had enlarged prostate. I also got very sick with cough fever but both my kids were sick too. I went and got a blood test on Dec 12 and it came back negative but I know it was only a few weeks. I used some antibiotics around Dec 11 that I had left over from my dentist visit like 10 of them and the pain at the tip of the penis went away.
102999 tn?1326859384 Toxicity causes absorption of too much calcium resulting in kidney stones, kidney failure and calcification of the arteries. The above recommendation is well within the safe range. If your D is 73 that is good!!
Avatar f tn CT scans cleared me from having anything wrong with my spleen, liver, gallbladder, appendix,I have been diagnosed with kidney stones but they are non obstructing, dormant, small stones so apparently they are unable to cause pain since they are not passing and i also i have no groin/ureter pain ever no burning while peeing or anything like that.: extreme right side flank pain ,behind/under ribs, comes in waves, travels to back close to spine.
168348 tn?1379360675 but maybe that had something to do with immune system being weakened ?? I'm going to do the Vit C .. I have to pass on the other ones bcz of my kidney stones which are calicum oxalate .. they don't even want me to do cranberry juice for urinary infections bcz a stone can get big unbelievably fast. Thanks to the poster who recalled my dental abcess problems prior to surgery ...... I am still walking around with a temp filling in the 2nd tooth with an appt for mid-March for the crown.
