Avatar n tn I may not know much about kidney stones, but I've had multiple bladder infections and risked kidney stones before when I was 18. One thing I can say, I'm not going to be 100% positive on it, but if your son drank cranberry juice (lots of it) check into the effects of the oxalates(in cranberries) and the calcium(in your urine) building up to possibly form kidney stones, the last question on the linked page will be helpful if that's the case. http://www.uti-cleanse.com/faqs.
Avatar n tn He is 25 and last year began to have painful episodes with passing kidney stones. One stone had to be treated with shockwave lithroscopy. Scans indicate multiple, bilateral stones. Since that time, he has had gastric pain, nausea, flank pain, sleeplessness, etc. I had a parathyroid adenoma a couple of years ago myself, so I was familiar with the problems of high calcium and requested some tests. They have come back and shown a calcium level of 10.; 10.2 and 10.6. However, his PTH was 10.
Avatar f tn Hi all, I'm hoping some of you may have some advice or insight for me. Im a 32 yo otherwise healthy woman with a history of kidney stones, kidney infections and uti's. Ive had stones since the age of 18 and up until about 4 years ago i would only get them once or twice a year and they were always small enough to pass. At 28 i had my first stone that needed lithotripsy. Since then they've become much more frequent. This last 10 mos it has been at its absolute worst though.

Avatar n tn Hi, Kidney stones form when the components of urine are out of balance. When this happens, the urine contains more crystal-forming substances, such as calcium and uric acid. Kidney stones are also prone to develop in highly acidic or highly alkaline urine. Sometimes, the underlying cause is an inherited metabolic disorder or kidney disease. Gout, inflammatory bowel disease and some medications promote specific types of kidney stones.
Avatar n tn I suffer from what is called Polycystic Kidney Disease (google it) which causes chronic kidney stones. Many people have this disease with no signs until they are much older. When their kidneys begin to fail them. The main symptom is high blood pressure beginning as a young adult. why? Because your kidneys are working too hard fighting off the cysts and they are not filtering correctly. I was diagnosed with PKD in July last year after a car accident.

Avatar f tn I am a 400 lbs woman. I have kidney stones that range from 3cm to 4cm and up. The one i have now is 4cm. I have stones in both of my kidneys.I also have been to 3 -4 different doctors. They all have said that I am too fat, they are unable to take care of me. The stones are calcium phosphate. What i would like to know, besides loosing weigh, how can they be destroyed? I have been watching what i eat, that has calcium in it, and i still get them? Please let me know what i can do.
Avatar f tn Just an update... It was actually kidney stones.
Avatar f tn I have had blood in my urine for 2 months now and I have had stomach cramps similar to menstrual cramps lately. I also have a history of kidney stones. I go next week for my cat scan and see if I have stones or something that may show up. I am worried but I always do, but this time I haven't been in pain like I was the other times I had stones it just seems different. I also worried about Bladder cancer or kidney cancer, but the symptoms doesn't exactly fit there either.
Avatar n tn 60yrs old woman already menopause, history of kidney stones 10 yrs ago no operation was needed because the stones eventually melted with the medicine taken. now had symptom of what looks like light trace of blood in the urine. what is wrong?
714049 tn?1232641094 I'm guessing a kidney infection. It's very common with kidney stones. Did they test your urine already? Might wanted to have it checked again.
Avatar f tn So, this is my 4th pregnancy but my first time dealing with kidney stones presumably caused by the pregnancy. Has anyone else had this unfortunate experience and how did you get through? I'm on my second round of stones. I just had surgery to remove a 6 mm stone 3 weeks ago and now I have one in theĀ opposite side. I'm only 14 weeks so I have a ways to go yet.
Avatar f tn ve heard plenty of women say that they had no idea they were in labor and got to the hospital for a routine check and ended up being almost fully dilated. Due to kidney stones and how big my baby is compared to my body my midwife suspects he's going to come a little early, so can you give me some things to look for that will help me know when to go in? I've already been losing my mucus plug and experiencing bh contractions, but when do I absolutely need to call my dr?
Avatar m tn There are different of stones and some of them may not be detected readily. Kidney stones may contain various combination of chemicals such as calcium in combination with either oxalate or phosphate. It is good that you pass these stones. It may help if you can strain them and have them analyzed. A visit with a kidney specialist may also help. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I was always told how uncommon it was for a girl my age (first stones were at age 19,I am now 27) to have kidney stones and also plus because I am a woman and women don't tend to get them. I was never ever offered any help even after asking for advice from many doctors on what should I do?? I have had kidney stones at least 3-4 Times a year. But this past month I have passed 10 stones so far and counting. Each time at the ER I am prescribed pain meds and anti nausea pills and sent home.

Avatar f tn If you also suffer with reoccurring kidney pain whether you are passing stones or not...please respond as I am relieved to know I am not the only one. Beginning to think that I would never find someone that can identify with me. I would like to exchange information with another woman that has been experincing similiar symptoms. Thanks for your time in advance.
Avatar m tn kidney stones can be very recurring and can start very young, although ive never heard of someone getting them in their early teens.. usually early 20s, but that doesnt mean it doesnt happen earlier. it sounds like you will have to sit in some pain until you get insurance again. you can try to seek out clinics, but theyre not very good at helping. get your insurance back and go to a dr, because if you have them so often, you might have something else going on.

Avatar n tn X-rays should should be done too to either confirm or rule out any kind of bladder or kidney stones. In the meantime, she needs meds for the pain and nausea. Keep us posted on what happens.

If so, check out hypercalcemia (high blood calcium)...I know quite a bit about hepatitis, but not about autoimmune hepatitis...Hepatitis is simply inflammation of the liver caused by a myriad of things..Usually viruses, but not always...
