Avatar n tn no AFIB since but plagued with PVCs ever since. Just had another 24 hr. holter, echo, etc., and all normal except showed 4,000+ PVCs - benign. So heart in good shape. I exercise daily, am 6'4" - 180 lbs., 52 yrs. old and am on Flecinade and a beta blocker. PVCs just seem to keep gradually getting worse(they're bad for a few weeks, not so bad for a few weeks, etc.) and now they're affecting my sleep and exercising (which really tees me off!).

Avatar f tn This is one of the most difficult things I've ever had to deal with. My beloved Gypsy is dying of kidney failure. Gypsy is a Jack Russell Terrier and she turned 18...yes 18...on Christmas Day. It's just so hard to know when it is "time." I prayed and prayed that she would give us one final parting gift and die on her own in her sleep...but she is SUCH a fighter and refused to surrender to this thing.
438165 tn?1205235676 H, If this has been causing you much discomfort lately, I suggest that you ask your urologist regarding other alternative foms of treatment for the stones. The risk and benefits have to be weighed in managing your condition. When was the last time you had your follow up? When was the last ultrasound or scan taken? Has your kidney function been recently assessed? Do keep us posted with your answers.
748543 tn?1463449675 For the past few weeks I have been throwing around ideas as to the best way to respond to this matter. You see a recent article ( Feb.3 , 2009 NY times) titled "Best treatment for TMJ May be Nothing" nearly made me clench my jaw to pieces. While well written, I found that the author, Ms. Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists.
Avatar m tn for years now she had couple of surgeries or went to the doctor for treatment in kidney stones. she told me that to not eat salty food very salty foods. and that is the cause of her stones. she recently went to the hospital again this past week due to abdominal pain and nausea. they couldn't take another x ray due to the doc says it might too much radiation within a period of time. it took like about like two months after they had to shake the stones in the hospital procedure treatment.
1916673 tn?1420236870 Higher than normal potassium is not very unusual in kidney disease, but it is important to discount other potential causes - including kidney or urinary tract stones. An ultra-sound and white blood cell (WBC) count will help identify if stones are a problem. Phosphorus is also too high. Dogs acquire phosphorus directly from food, and normally (in healthy dogs) any excess is excreted through the kidneys.
Avatar f tn I know I've flushed out kidney stones. I've figured out that the cause of my kidney stones is high fructose corn syrup in some of my favorite foods like fig bars which I've given up. I would not be surprised if that had something to do with my gall stones.
Avatar f tn I went to the doctor and he sent me to a urologist. He said that I had kidney stones. But they were still in my kidney and they don't hurt while in the kidney. He did many cat scans, xrays, and a 24 hour urine test. NOTHING was wrong except small stones still inside the kidney. Now the pain comes every day it hurts so bad I can barely breath or eat. Sometimes it feels as if it is reaching my side but then goes back to my back.
Avatar f tn There is a treatment for kidney stones if they can't pass on their own. His Dr would have to do the procedure in the hospital. They break the stones up into very tiny pieces that can be passed. I think he would be able to come home that same day.

969276 tn?1257886004 Its great LOL Dizziness, physical exercision like walking up 5 steps gives me a headrush. Vertigo, though only when I am laying down, dont know if thats truly vertigo. *Kidney stones (5 at once, and kidneys full of 'sand') no prior problems with kidneys, no family history, healthy diet and exercise. 2126606 tn?1346348724 Patients who are prescribed long-term prescription painkiller treatment programs should be cautious of opioid-induced hyperalgesia. Opioid-induced hyperalgesia is a condition where the increased use of opiates, like Oxycontin and hydrocodone, heightens one's sensitivity to discomfort and reduces their tolerance for pain.
211940 tn?1267884866 I have had kidney stones, in the past, but that was several years ago. Normally, when I get the UTI "symptoms", I take some cranberry pills, and drink lots of water. This usually clears it up, if not that same day, in a day or two. I normally take, cranberry pills, every day, as part of my regiment of keeping UTI's away. However, I have had the UTI "symptoms", this time, for almost 3 weeks now.
Avatar n tn I had a similar, if not the same, pain during the time I was having a series of kidney stones from age 19-22 (see below). At that time the pain was higher during times of kidney stones. After seeing 6 different urologists I was told to simply ‘live healthier.’ I started up a vigorous workout routine, diet and drank a gallon or more of water a day. From that time up until the emergence of this pain in March of 2011 I was pain free and kidney stone free.
Avatar n tn lithium, used in bipolar disorder; penicillamine, used for rheumatoid arthritis, kidney stones, and too much copper in the body; plus some drugs used in cancer treatment. In the absence of other symptoms, it is unlikely that a metallic taste in your mouth indicates serious disease. But if you haven't had a thorough general checkup recently, I would suggest seeing your doctor to rule out any undiagnosed health problems. Hope this helps and Good Luck!
Avatar f tn She had over 10 operations for kidney stones, and was receiving government disability payments for an inoperable, terminal, kidney condition. She attributes the cure of this kidney trouble entirely to the asparagus. I was not surprised at this result, as `The elements of materia medica', edited in 1854 by a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania , stated that asparagus was used as a popular remedy for kidney stones.
Avatar n tn Thanks for the comments. They were helpful. I was just diagnosed with gallstones and kidney stones. I am researching all the different options. I do not know the size or the amount of gallstones as of yet. I am not really in pain, but I did have bouts of nausea, heat flashes, aches, my lymph nodes were even swollen, slight stiff neck with the slight headache. One day I had pain on my right side and under the rib cage. Doctors were baffled for a week but I kept pushing.
Avatar m tn One of the tulsi plant uses is that its leaves have a strengthening effect on the kidneys. In case of renal stones, the consumption of juice of basil leaves mixed with honey helps remove these stones through the urinary tract. Avatar m tn I get a CT Scan every 6 months and have 4 stones in left kidney and 2 in right kidney. Please read my post about kidney stones (says something like Kidney Stone & this is my story) cause I need someone to talk too or someone that is or has gone through all this agony. You will understand if you go to my post. Thanks for listening/reading. I have been through several urologist & they just don't know.
Avatar n tn WHAT are they missing here, if I have this and other people have it, it has to be a diagnoseable disease and sounding common. Why isn't there more on the books about this! I had 2 kidney stones about 5 years ago, no problems since and this has been going on for about 6 months now. My insurance was not enstated; but paid for and waiting for activation; I think I received bad treatment because of lack of Insurance. Please let me know if you have other questions of this nature and any diagnosis?
Avatar n tn Greetings group, I'm a newly qualified doctor and have just started my internship, so my opinions are based on reading rather than experience (and hence may not be correct). My primary diagnosis would be Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome (CPPS), a VERY COMMON yet poorly understood condition, caused by a "complex interaction of immune, endocrine, and neuronal events as well as the psychological status of the individual".
2053959 tn?1330448602 My son had his surgery on Mar 12th. The doc removed 4 stones from the right kidney and 1 large stone from the left. Recovery was very painful for him. Had to go back to the ER for morphine to help the pain. Got a fever a few days after that. In the end, the surgery didn't help much for his overall pain. His right side still hurts all the time. He's hardly at school and I have to get his work from the office. He's seen a nephrologist who give him Rx to help new stones from forming. But that's it.
458072 tn?1291418786 Might want to see a naturopath for that one. I know a formula for kidney stones from Planetary Formulas called, appropriately enough, Stone Free. The basic herb is called, again appropriately enough, gravel root. Don't know about the gallbladder, but that company is a good one to consult about it -- very knowledgeable people. I do know the herb artichoke helps the liver deal with the breakdown of fat before sending bile on to the gallbladder, which helps keep the gallbladder healthy.
Avatar m tn Hello, Various reasons for recurrent or persistent fungal infection are incomplete treatment, treatment resistance, co-existing dermatitis, diabetes and low immunity. Treatment resistance can be overcome by applying a cream with a combination of antifungals (Clotrimazole 1%, Miconazole nitrate 2%, Tolnaftate 1% and Butenafine hydrochloride 1%). Get her blood sugar tested, fasting, 2 hours after food and if these are high then glycosylated hemoglobin to see overall sugar status in last 3 months.
