895634 tn?1283992810 Kidney stone often is hereditary so you should ask if any relatives also had kidney stones. Taking pain killers for the pain is not the proper treatment for kidney stones. Taking a pain killer to avoid the pain is not good medicine. It is masking the underlying condition which can be a serious one. A hepatologist is not an expert in kidney disease. They should refer you to a Urologist. A Urologist specializes in diseases and conditions of the kidneys and urinary track.
Avatar n tn they have to take leave to send me to hospital, they have to use their money for treatment that was exceed my insurance allowance. i can say, from the passing kidney stones until the removal of stent, i was suffer so much!
Avatar n tn Although I was told I had no stones I gave it a shot. I could not believe all the stones that came out. Hundreds and I am not exagerating. It is a cleanse that requires you be in fairly good health because you feel a little drained from it. It is called Dr. Hulda Clarkes Liver and Gallbladder cleanse. You will be amazed at how well it works. Just do a search on it and you will be sure to find it.
Avatar f tn Incredibly, mutant, toxic nuclear painful and just plain HURT, A LOT, multiple kidney stones. Kidney stones can pass and poof - all gone. Then another - or a few others - can make their ugly journey into your ureter days or weeks later. This experience is not fun. I speak from experience. One little 5 mm just about made me grind the enamel off my teeth - but the lovely wretched staghorn model at a whopping 9+mm? And hooked and now on display in a window box?
Avatar n tn For low back pain and abdominal pain, conditions like kidney infections, urinary tract stones, appendicitis, spine disorders have to be ruled out. Seek consult with your primary physician for a complete assessment and diagnostic tests.A warm compress over the area and OTC analgesics may be able to help temporarily. Do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn (My father suffers from kidney stones). I have been drinking lots of water and herbal teas. One doctor I spoke with over the phone suggested Bactrim antibiotic for 8 days. When I drink lots of water, it feels somewhat better. So I've been on bactrim for 2 days now, but I see no difference. According to you can this irritation be due to those crystals in urine, provoking this problem? Can antibiotics make it all worse if not bacteria was the cause of the irritation?
1832268 tn?1326819610 We brought him home and did twice daily under skin fluids plus standard recommended meds and kidney diet. We then took him to a kidney specialist who was trying to determine at what stage of Kidney disease he was at. Got his levels down a little more a week little later, things were looking promising and his energy levels were increasing dramatically. Less than a week later, he completely stopped eating. Took him to specialist after 2 days of not eating.
748543 tn?1463449675 For the past few weeks I have been throwing around ideas as to the best way to respond to this matter. You see a recent article ( Feb.3 , 2009 NY times) titled "Best treatment for TMJ May be Nothing" nearly made me clench my jaw to pieces. While well written, I found that the author, Ms. Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists.
2361255 tn?1339611918 I have been giving her a herbal medicine called kidney support gold. She is also on meds from the vet. She is 10 and still plays and runs but she is fur with bones only . I know her time is coming when she must leave me but I am having such a difficult time with this knowledge. I wish I knew what her time was but no one will say anything. I read where one dog had 3 years. I pray I will have more time. No one understands the relationship we have. She is my everything.
Avatar f tn Hi there, The risk factors for UTI in males are sexual intercourse, use of spermicidal products, stones in kidney, changing sexual partners frequently, diabetes and childhood infections. The urine can also be due to retention of urine anywhere in its flow due to obstruction. Inherited factors may be related to recurrent UTIs in few people. Drink plenty of water.
Avatar n tn I used to have the onset of kidney stones and did a special herbal cleanse in Indonesia. It was done with monitoring at the lab etc. Two brothers who inherited their fathers herbal recipes and studies in the US. They had lots of kidney stones in their practice. Amazing what people were able to pee out, instead of getting operated for the stones. I didn't release stones, but my urine was clouded from the calcification and calcium was detectable on the lab reports.
242516 tn?1368227505 Join me to learn about the flu vaccine, antivirals, antibiotics, and alternative preventative measures such as humidifiers, saline drops and sprays, herbal supplements, and honey and find out whether these treatments are suitable for children, the elderly and other high-risk groups. This has been an unusual year in that the flu has been picking up in the last few weeks, and will last into early summer. The symptoms of influenza include cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, and fever.
1423392 tn?1286593990 On a very positive note I went to a very knowledgable LLMD today that is only a 1 1/2 instead of 5 hours away! We are going to start over with treatment and she is sending all my blood work to Ingex to re check my numbers to see if there is been any improvement since the last time it was checked! I'm hopefully this time this new DR. will get me back on track ! Here's to some more rounds of cocktail of antibiotics and she wants to get aggressive with IV antibiotics!!!
1310633 tn?1430227691 I'm now left with my chronic pain and kidney stones. The kidney stones I can deal with, as if it gets bad enough and the stone is big enough, I head to the ER of my home hospital, and I get taken care of under the watchful eye of my urologist (who is fully aware of my past addiction & subsequent stint in rehab). A kidney stone and IV Dilaudid to take care of it until it passes, administered by ER staff/nurses/doctors, does not a relapse make.
Avatar f tn My son is 14 and was diagnosed with MSK this week. He woke up to his 1st stone on his 14th birthday 2 months ago. The pediatric urologist & pediatric nephrologist have been great and answered a lot of questions. I don't think I could ask for better care for him. It's been tough wrapping our heads around it all. We've been told to cut out all soda, definitely no caffeine ever, and to have him eat as low sodium diet as possible- basically home make everything.
Avatar n tn Or any other suggestions for treatment? She just has a periodic issue every other year, she has been on Orbax 22.7mg tabs from the vet. She has the usual behavior issues when she does, the pooping out of the box, the constant scoot and lick of the area, every time she has had this problem. So we know it's the same issue. She is otherwise a very healthy, long haired domestic cat weighing in at 19lbs and has been on the special cat food from the vet for urinary tract problems.
Avatar n tn I have been getting alot of bladder infections, when they discovered my hep c, but they also discovered kidney stones, I get to go to my kidney specialist on Monday, doctors and more doctors, but water is the best recipe for infections.
Avatar n tn Thanks for the comments. They were helpful. I was just diagnosed with gallstones and kidney stones. I am researching all the different options. I do not know the size or the amount of gallstones as of yet. I am not really in pain, but I did have bouts of nausea, heat flashes, aches, my lymph nodes were even swollen, slight stiff neck with the slight headache. One day I had pain on my right side and under the rib cage. Doctors were baffled for a week but I kept pushing.
690241 tn?1227390813 ) I read her comment and saw what you posted and yes, I believe that is true about diet not being able to prevent stones; it can in the case of kidney stones but not when you have MSK I believe, as you said.
Avatar m tn However, be careful with be careful with consumption of green leafy veggies if you have a history of kidney stones.
Avatar f tn Some cats will have a normal bladder and urine, but their kidneys are infected or they have kidney stones. This could also cause symptoms. Some stones and crystals cannot be seen on an X-Ray but can be seen on ultrasound. So this does get complex. This issue is very rarely completely behavioral, and often a physical problem is accompanied by a behavioral component.
Avatar n tn The kidneys pull the body's wastes from the blood stream in the kidney's glomeruli and the basement membrane filters of the glomeruli are typically small. Kidney stones can exit, (albeit with some blood, guess from the tearing of the filter membranes to allow escape). But, the stones originated in the kidney, not the gall bladder, they are not connected. Kidney stones can cause severe flank pain and can radiate, perhaps this is what Andy might have passed, a kidney stone.
Avatar m tn this could be caused by too much calcium accumulation in the urine, leading to crystal formation in the kidneys. Kidney failure: Severe hypercalcemia can lead to damage in the kidneys and possibly cause permanent loss of kidney function. Nervous system deficits: Severe hypercalcemia can lead to dementia and confusion. Arrythmias: Hypercalcemia can affect the electrical impulses of cardiac muscle, causing irregular heartbeats.
Avatar f tn OK YOU SAY NO STONES, DO YOU MEAN NO CALCIFICATIONS IN THE KIDNEYS OR NO STONES IN THE URETERS? DR. WOLF'S PROCEDURE IS MAINLY FOR THOSE OF US WITH CALCIFICATIONS BELIEVED TO BE CONNECTED TO THE STONE BURDEN WITHIN THE COLLECTING DUCTS OF THE KIDNEYS. THESE CALCIFICATION PATTERNS ARE TYPICAL OF MSK...ESP. MID LIFE. IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET A CHRONIC INFECTION WITHIN THE KIDNEYS WITHOUT THE CALCIFICATIONS, HOWEVER IT SHOULD RESPOND BETTER TO ANTIBIOTICS THEN THOSE OF US WITH A LOT OF STONES.
Avatar f tn It relieves constipation, distention, chronic fever, cold, sexual disorders, kidney stones, heart pain, backache, sciatica and other pains in the joints.
Avatar n tn Yes, acidifying the urine is a treatment for infectious type stones (struvite) but these types of stones account for less than 5% of all kidney stones. A simple urine test and pH coupled with the appearance of the stone on X-ray would probably have indicated whether acidification of the urine would have any chance to work. Nevertheless, the kidney cleanse is still marketed for all stones even though it has very little chance of being successful.
