Common Questions and Answers about Kidney stones symptoms youtube

Avatar f tn I'm not a doctor, but do have too much experience with kidney stones. For me, I'd get pings and pangs in my kidney as well as microhematuria (blood you cannot see by eye) in my urine when I have stones. I've also had the flank pain you describe .. for me it's been in the lower back. I hope with lots of water your stones move out for you uneveventfully. Please keep in touch. From what I've read stones <5.0mm usually move out on their own with a high % of non-complications, etc.
Avatar n tn Hi, How are you? Kidney stones usually pass out through the urine stream with in 48hours. But this depends upon the size of the stone. A 4mm stone has 80% chances of coming out spontaneously, where as 5mm stone has 20% chances. Stones more than this size usually require treatment. Medical management includes calcium channel blockers, alpha blockers etc. Surgical treatment involves shock wave lithotripsy or percutaneous nephrolithotomy or open surgery.

Avatar f tn It took a while but the pain I was having was finally diagnosed as a kidney stone and I have another symptomatic one in the other kidney. But I wonder if kidney stones cause anemia because I suddenly became anemic just over a year ago and we have not been able to find a cause. Although I had occult blood in my urine due to the stone, it was not a lot. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this too or if anyone might know if stones can cause anemia?

Avatar n tn I have been reading many message boards and feel am self educated about kidney stones by my own body. Each kidney stone is unique in severity of pain. The bigger ones don't always have bigger pain. The largest I have passed was5 ml. I just dont know what to do anymore. Im tired of passing them, tired of being in pain, tired of missing work and could be in danger of loosing my job. The painkillers are great , but takes a day or so to get back into functioning mode after taking them.

Avatar n tn Pain and discomfort on the lower left side of abdomen just below and to the left of navel can be due to several causes such as Crohn’s disease, colitis, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, adhesions, polycystic ovary in females, IBS, constipation, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle. Since you do not have a lump or a tender hot spot, in all probability it is not a muscle.
Avatar f tn I didn't have any digestive problems though. Maybe it's just kidney stones? So yeah, I was absolutely fine from August until the middle of December. I was zipping about and enjoying life, really appreciating health! Then in December I got the flu and it was normal flu for a week, then the flu symptoms subsided but the above symptoms started up again. Except no urine infection. I stayed in bed for 2 weeks and felt fine, so I went back to work after christmas and collapsed.

Avatar n tn The problem is sometimes those pregnancy symptoms are an awful lot like period symptoms (it's a bummer that nature works that way). But either way, I started having sore breasts and slight nausea within about a week or so after my IUI. The IUI worked and I did get pregnant... so although everyone is different, the symptoms started rather early for me. We'll cross our fingers for you and hopefully you'll have some good news in a week or so!
Avatar m tn Eating a high-protein, low-fiber diet, high vitamin D levels, overactive parathyroid glands, family history of kidney stones, kidney or urinary infections, Crohn’s disease all can cause kidney stones repeatedly. It is suggested to be screened for above mentioned disorders. Consult a nephrologist and take treatment as advised. The size and location of stone will help in deciding the exact course of management. Do keep me posted. Best luck and regards!

I went off those becuase i felt like it was keeping me up to much. The dr said that she thought it could be like w/d symptoms from the b6 or it could be another type of deficiency but did not think bugs at all. It came back I have iron deficency but no anemia and my b6 levels were normal but low normal.
Avatar n tn My life was pretty normal with the disease other than the few kidney stones. Get a second opinion, get your answers and make an informed decision. Avoid taking every bit of information from this site as fact. The comment by alikat709 above is disturbing to me for the reason is that in my case the less invasive procedure as touted by the site would have missed my thyroid nodule that did not show up on any imaging test!
2085202 tn?1373203340 Since you are losing a lot of weight, provided you have not changed your eating habits to eating far less or are not having vomitting and diarrhea (which can be symptoms of pain in the case of two of those symptoms or symptoms of anxiety), did the doctor check your thyroid function- not just running a TSH, but free T 3 and free T 4 also?
1688444 tn?1305693229 I have had issues with my left kidney now with a year of constant infections to 8 yrs of kidney stones. This past March this kidney has been hurting and I don't know why. I had to see a Vascular Surgeon last Oct due to two lumps from an IV from the Colonoscopy in June. He told me my problems with my hands and feet is Raynauds. Finally a name for it. He laughed when I told him what the dr told me yrs ago about my nerves trying to catch up.
1299647 tn?1329058347 I did do a little reading on the allopurinol that you take (my dad also takes that - he used to get quite a few kidney stones, but since taking it has not had a single one!) - and I did read that, while it is rare, allopurinol can sometimes affect the liver, especially if you had pre-existing liver disease. It did not say what the chances are of it happening, but it did say that it was reversible.
Avatar n tn One thing I've read is that vitamin K2 is very important, because that's the vitamin that helps make sure calcium gets where it's needed the most, which is the bones, not made into kidney stones, etc. I have a bone density scan every 2 yrs.
Avatar f tn I am helping a fellow out now who has the same condition and he has passed over 100 kidney stones in past fer years. Your symptoms are to far ranging to be 20 different conditions. One intracellular bacteria can go throughout body causing systemic illness. You can either accept you current diag, or do some research about what I am saying and get better. It won't be overnight, but you WILL get better.
Avatar n tn More recently, since dropping to every other day, I have had a pain in my kidney area, around where a boxer would take a kidney punch, that is driving me nuts. I have done all the home remedies that one might try for a kidney infection or stones. No changes at all. My stomach hurts all the time and I have had problems there and none of the meds for that helps. Milk has always settled the burning sensation, until now. My joints hurt, I am having all kinds of aches and pains.
