I have suffered for many years with kidney stones myself (35 plus years and at least 35 plus stones). I had surgery for stone removal about 35 years ago and then didn't need surgery again until just the Spring of 2015. Those are the only two times that I have had to have stones removed and have stents. The other many times during all those years, the stones have passed on their own, sometimes multiple stones at once.
I am new to kidney stones. I passed my first kidney stone about 2 months ago and I know I have two more. A 2mm on one side and a 4 on the other side. The first one I had happened at night, so I woke up in pain. I am just wondering is there symptoms you can feel when you are awake. Since the kindey stone is 7 mm, so the symptoms seem unrelated to the kidney stones. Since you are having pedal or leg edema, hence your cardiac, liver and kidney functions need to be assessed for which I suggest you to consult a physician immediately. Abdominal causes like irritable bowel syndrome can also cause such symptoms. Common symptoms include abdominal cramping or pain, bloating and gassiness, and altered bowel habits(alternate constipation and loose stools).

It's been three weeks since my diagnosis of having multiple kidney stones on the right side. I have a 15 yr. history with kidney stones. I had my most recent attack 3 weeks ago and it was one of the longest enduring of any I've had, with the most severe flank and ureter pain lasting almost 12 hrs. Hi and WELCOME to our Kidney Stone Community. I'm not a doctor, but do have too much experience with kidney stones. For me, I'd get pings and pangs in my kidney as well as microhematuria (blood you cannot see by eye) in my urine when I have stones. I've also had the flank pain you describe .. for me it's been in the lower back. I hope with lots of water your stones move out for you uneveventfully.
