Avatar f tn UTI can also be due to the polycystic kidney disease as well. Kidney stones and kidney failure are late-stage symptoms of the disease. I suggest you an immediate urologist’s evaluation. If the size of the stone is small, it’s usually treated with ESWL in which shock waves are given from outside and stone breaks into small pieces. On the other hand, if the stone is quite big, then the surgical removal of the stone is a better option. Also her renal functions need to be studied.
Avatar n tn im having problems of kidney stones and im suffering dizziness is it one of the sympthoms of kidney stones?? I feel dizzy when my kidney is having pain.
Avatar f tn the stones so they can analyze them) is the constituents of the stones. I believe a common kidney stone is made up of calcium oxylate. If your stone has some other makeup, it can be telling as to the cause of your condition. The majority of mine was not calcium oxylate, but the "lead" that gave the docs turned out to be a dead end, so I guess all my efforts to catch that little bugger were for naught. Ah well, at least I got to see my foe!! Sigh.
Avatar f tn It makes sense that my period may be late from the stress my body went through with the stones last month, but with my last period being December 4th, should I be alarmed that it is THIS late?! I've read online that it could be a symptom of kidney disease. I'm just wondering if the cloudy pee and missed period is "normal" or common after kidney stones? Do I have a right to be concerned, or am I worrying over nothing?
Avatar n tn After doing some research online, I'm concerned I may have symptoms suggesting kidney disease. If anyone could give me some information on kidney disease, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
Avatar f tn I am so tired of the tummy trouble, that is causing me more discomfort than the actual kidney pain. Can kidney stones cause diarrhea? Even if they are not the most painful stones I've had?
Avatar n tn You will need to take care to restrict certain foods in your diet, especially vitamin C, as it has been reported to aggravate signs and symptoms of both kidney stones and interstitial cystitis.
Avatar n tn Weturner, there IS a connection between "bipolar" and kidney stones. His 'bipolar' symptoms and kidney stones are very possibly caused by the same thing. It is called Hyperparathyroidism. Most people have never heard of PARAthyroid glands. But we all have four of them. Please have your husband's parathyroid checked out by the best expert you can find. I was put on medications for years for mental things such as bipolar, I was also getting kidney stones a lot.
1215383 tn?1266418042 One reason is that biofilm infections can set up with in and on kidney stones. Most big stones are known as infectious stones but bacteria can build biofilms on small and calcium oxalate stones as well. Feel free to pm for more information or links on Biofilm infection and kidney stones. Here is the link to the MSK support group here. Though you may not have MSK there is a lot of info on kidney stones, infection and chronic pain etc. http://www.medhelp.org/forums/show/256?
Avatar n tn I'm on my fourth episode of kidney stones, and all of us that have had them can surely agree, the symptoms are tell-tale and ones you don't forget. I get extremely painful cramping and horrible diarrhea EVERY time I'm trying to pass a stone. Actually, that's the first symptom I've had each and every time. It is the worst, painful diarrhea ever, and something I've only experienced when a stone starts moving through my urinary tract. Like clockwork, soon after, that hallmark back pain starts.
Avatar n tn they found a mass on my liver , when i had cat scan for kidney stones, i am just always so tired, nauseas, and pain, could this all be symptoms from that?
Avatar m tn Recurrent kidney stones are found renal tubular acidosis, medullary sponge kidney, Dent's disease (genetic disease of the kidney), hyperparathyroidism, primary hyperoxaluria and Crohn's disease. Since the pain comes before periods too, it can also be due to endometriosis. It can also be due to a STD, may not have started with it, but may have caught in between if you are now sexually active. Non specific bacterial infection or fungal infection can also cause recurrent UTI.
Avatar n tn And about once a week, I have to pass a kidney stone, and its' extremely painful. The weird thing is that I don't get any of the symptoms of kidney stones, like nausea or extreme pain in my flank. The pain only occurs at the tip of my pee-tube when it's finally coming out. Okay, and that's just the kidney stone part - let me start on the constipation/metabolism parts: I'm always constipated, I go weeks without a bowel movement.
Avatar f tn I used to have cyst in each of kidney with independent of milk calcium. What is the situation now? should I get any treatment and further exam right away? I am so worried. Thank you very much!
1115860 tn?1258862481 I found out that both of my kidneys are full of stones and the only way to get rid of them is surgery. I don't want it though and am really cant get it b/c of my low weight. I am very scared to even go under...I may not wake up. The laxatives ahave caused the stones, I know and my ED. It is very scary. I have just startred peeing some blood, so I too am wondering about kidney disease. I do not want to go on dialysis...it's not a pretty picture.
1244856 tn?1294760029 Honestly, I am very surprised that someone has not beat me to this. Since I am female I do not share the epiditimitis portion of you symptoms, however the kidney pain is a very common problem with MSKer's. We have all had to endure the ER docs and their assumption that we are junkies looking for a fix. I got in the habit of bringing my x-rays with me when I went in. Just to prove that I did in fact have stones in my kidneys.
Avatar m tn Thomas Fandez medicals services which he said Dr. Thomas Fandez has been helping patients fight against kidney diseases of various types so we decided to give it a try,so far my wife is improving very well and presently she can walk around the house all by herself. the cocount water has help in cleanse the urinary tract and the bladder canals, crash’’ the kidney stones.
Avatar f tn I am a 40 year old female with a history of kidney stones. Latest ultrasound (1 year ago) noted stones bilaterally. I have had previous symptoms of UTI only to have tests come back negative for infection but positive for blood. The last 4 urine samples have all tested positive for microscopic blood ( all tests done in the past 5 months). I just had my anual physical 1 month ago and urine test noted traces of blood with no infection. My worry is that this could be a sign of bladder cancer.
Avatar f tn Have you been properly assessed along this line? Was a scan done to establish the presence of these stones? Kidney stones may be asymptomatic depending on their size and the presence of underlying disease conditions like structural anomalies involving the urinary tract. They may present as a dull vague pain over the flank. They may present as a benign back pain. In some patients, the back may be slightly tender when the physician gently hits the area with closed fists.
Avatar n tn An utra sound found nothing unusual. The urologist thinks it is either kidney stones or the residual effects of a bad infection. He would like me to get a CT. I am concerned as I have had 3 CT scans after a PE in both lungs 2 years ago after delivery. What are your thoughts? He does not think it is IC because it came on so suddenly. He said that the urine cultures were tainted due to the antibiotics. I can go 2-3.5 hours between void but I am holding it. What are your thoughts?
Avatar n tn Adhesion pain use to be difficult to diagnosis and was often one of exclusion and based almost solely on clinical symptoms. However large facilities now have a newer MRI called a Cine-MRI. It is able to detect intraabdominal adhesions that the other MRIs were unable to detect. One of the few treatments for adhesions is surgical removal...which in the past usually just produced more adhesions down the road.
Avatar n tn When magnesium and citrate are low or not present in adequate amounts in the urine, then insoluble salts such as calcium oxalate form, which in turn collect and organize to form kidney stones. The use of magnesium oxide or magnesium citrate is known to help in the treatment of patients with calcium oxalate stones. Second is the issue of your right non-functional kidney. In Crohn's patients the predominant area of involvement of inflammation is in the terminal ileum.
Avatar m tn I have both GB stones and Kidney stones (well, the Kidney Stones come and go) and I would never do that type of regime .. not ever. The consequences can be fatal. How are you doing? Did you have your surgery? Please stop by with an update and WELCOME to our Community!
15905440 tn?1443866928 For example, in my case, many years ago I had one of my stones sent to a lab and found that my stones are primarily made up of iron and calcium. As a result, since I live out in a rural area, with well water that is high in iron content, I DO NOT drink the water from my water well and I drink bottled water. My body does not absorb calcium or throw it off like others do, so I do not take vitamins with calcium added, beyond the normal daily requirements.

Avatar f tn MRI results show at least two 2.0mm stones in each kidney. I passed my second stone (left kidney) a couple of weeks ago, and ever since then, my right kidney has been giving me on-and-off pain. Should I be concerned about this chronic, low grade pain? I always wonder if it's sand passing, but I'm not sure now. The last 2 or 3 urine tests I've had done have all shown a low level of protein in the urine.
18533109 tn?1465644152 Get It but ,Usually, an imaging test and an analysis of urine are done to diagnose stones. Tiny stones may cause no symptoms, but larger stones can cause pain in the area between the ribs and hips in the back. Sometimes stone formation can be prevented by changing the diet or increasing fluid intake.
Avatar f tn Please help me my mom has had mutiplaying kidney stones now for about a year on both sides of her kidneys, which also are causing blockage. She has had a history of kidney stones but not so many at the same time.
Avatar f tn I have many of the symptoms of parathyroid disease but since my calcium is normal, my endocrinologist and urologist do not think this is the case. I've had a 24 hour urine test and that came back with everything within the normal range. I should mention that all of this started 4 years ago and before that I'd never had a kidney stone or any other symptoms.
1832268 tn?1326819610 Breed, Age, Symptoms, Creatine, Bun, and Phorsphorus levels at time of first exam that revealed Kidney Disease, as well as End Stage Symptoms and Lab Values ( if known. ) How Quickly did the disease progress. Did the dog die naturally, or was the death assisted. I think this type of information would be very helpful to anyone and their dog, who has to deal with this disease.
