kidney-stones

Avatar f tn When I was in middle and high school, I had a few bouts of kidney stones. They put stents in my ureters, and then later reconstructed the right one because it was kinked up. For a few years after the surgery I felt fine. However, this spasming pain I have been having has been going on consistently for almost two years now. Every doctor I see wants to pass it off on kidney stones, yet they cannot see any obstructions on the IVPs, CT Scans, etc. Also I haven't passed a stone since I was about 15!
Avatar n tn When there's widespread numbness and tingling along with other scattered symptoms, it's difficult to localize the lesion to specific spots in the brain that may be damaged by MS. However, there is a small amount of patients who DO have nonspecific, vague neurologic symptoms that don't localize anywhere and the MRI shows classic MS spots throughout the brain and spinal cord. In your case, though, the MRI (should have brain AND spine) was clean which makes the diagnosis of MS much less likely.
1216899 tn?1288573925 I'm going to list my symptoms, so that others may have some insight, in layman's terms. I hope anyone else with the deficiency would also post theirs.
Avatar n tn I have been to a GYN, Urologists, primary care physicians, you name it I have seen them. I have had kidney stones removed, laproscopic surgery (nothing abnormal) and a cystopy (spelling). I was actually hoping that the Lap would indicate that they had found something wrong so they could fix it. My GYN seems to think our next step is to remove the uterus, I just don't see how this can help.
Avatar n tn do you know what stds are associated to my symptoms? i have never heard of blood in the sperm and in the urine after ejaculation being related to an std.
Avatar n tn If you recently underwent a CCK- assessment of gall bladder contraction, then you had a test which is very sensitive for the diagnosis of gall bladder disease, even in the absence of gall stones. If the CCK test is normal but you still beleive that the problem is the gall bladder, then removal of the gall bladder would be needed. If the pain persisted , then a problem in the gall bladder was not the cause.
Avatar n tn I, too, have a dent in the top front part of my head that I first noticed a few months ago. I am a 44-year-old female. I have not had headaches, hair loss or any sensitivity. It is just noticeable when I comb my hair. I do wear my sunglasses on my head often - way too often! I have always had issues related to calcium in my body (kidney stones & bad teeth that break easily). I've never really been tested - something that I should do now that I know. Thanks for all the posts.
Avatar f tn I worry that you may have something similar and that you should have your gulbladder checked out especially since stones are more prevalent in women than in men. An ultrasound or CT scan is most likely in order. My pain is located mostly in the upper right quadrant of my abdomen and recently my palms have turned almost entirely red which was noticeable because I have always been so pale.
Avatar n tn I've been dealing with this since I was pregnant in 1995. However, these symptoms are different than what i had in 1995. They are pain, burning and a fowl smelling discharge/urine. I thought perhaps it was the fish oil. Then at one point (I don't trust the cultures anymore), it came back with e coli! Please! I am super clean, never wipe the wrong way (that is how you apparently get it), and can't understand for the life of me how it would indicate e coli.
Avatar m tn Unless someone lives in an HIV endemic area such as an inner city, is an immigrant from a country with high HIV prevalence, is bisexual or a partner of a bisexual, or is an injection drug user or commercial sex worker, the prevalence of HIV in people without these risk factors is extremely low- less than 1 in 1000 people.
Avatar n tn Have stopped upper body workouts without improvement in symptoms. Going to ditch the underwire bra for a few weeks and see what happens.
Avatar n tn I have had the same symptoms in my lower left leg. I Googled the problem and found your comments. I am going to the Dr. on Monday. I will post what ever I find.
Avatar n tn to not look pretty or approachable. You women are in your 50s and 60s and its hard enough to deal with the body changes THEN whey they are supposed to happen! Why should a twenty something have to go though this? :( There has got to be some way to stall it while I work on getting my insomnia fixed. Do you ladies have any advice?? Does this sound like perimenopause? My periods have gotten less and less days, lighter and lighter... barely existant now.
Avatar f tn Splenic infarct Ruptured spleen, often in car accidents Enlarged spleen (splenomegaly) only in cases of massive splenomegaly. KIDNEYS/URETER The kidney is responsible for filtering the blood, removing wastes and passing it out in the urine while conserving essential electrolytes and water. 1408746 tn?1283678948 [1][2] The name derives from the fact that, in the sagittal view, the SMA and AA (with some imagination) appear to be a nutcracker crushing a nut (the renal vein). I was originally Diagnosed with Pelvic Congestion after complaining for many years of Chronic pelvic pain, left sided flank pain, lower back, and lower limbs. My husband and I were also trying to conceive for 6 years and all the doctors could tell me was that I had a great looking uterus.

Avatar f tn I have had an upper endoscopy because of the GERD symptoms but not a gastric emptying. I am very interested in finding out about seeing specialists in an academic hospital but know nothing about how to take advantage of that opportunity. You all have brought up many things for me to research now. Thank you again, so much.
516120 tn?1212817341 Sorry for the graphic details but I want others to know my symptoms. In October 2010, I had had enough and went to Mayo Clinic for 2nd opinion. Saw board certified endo doc, and was indeed diagnosed with hypothyroid, or Hashimoto's. He put me on high dosage.....175mg. He was perplexed on why I needed such high dose at my current weight, age, etc. At that time, also had EGD of esophagus and disagnosed with corrosive espohagitis. Put me on Protonix. Fixed the GERD immediately.
Avatar n tn If you are still having pain, then you may still have stones in your liver. Most doctors say this is impossible, but I know it is not. There is something you can do to find out if it's stones or not. Take 1 tablespoon of epsom salts in 3/4 cup of cold water( yuck, I know). It should relieve pain with in 30 min. Make sure you drink plenty of water or Gatorade to replenish electrolytes. The salts may give you temporary diarreah.
748543 tn?1463449675 TMJ' as it is wrongly called by many) is easy to treat and self-manage or that it may all be in the patient's mind. The American Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), an organization of some 40,000 of the nation's leading dentist, recognizes the relationship between maloclussion and headaches.
Avatar n tn I also have symptoms of parasites and I found that like 80% of people in the US have some form of parasites in them. So, I ordered a parasite/colon cleanse and will do that for 2 months and see what happens. Avatar n tn I know next to nothing about this stuff but I'm learning through my own illness. Your symptoms could be SO many things including sludge/stones in the common bile duct, Post-Cholecystectomy Syndrome, Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction, Small Bowel Bacterial Overgrowth, Pancreatitis, adhesions, etc. I apologize for the length of this post but I really want to help you.
Avatar n tn I understand why removing the gallbladder might help relieve pain in the gallbladder area if the gallbladder is irritated, but how will removal help with my symptoms? And, why will removing the gallbladder help reduce the the overabundance of acid in my stomach? Nobody has been able to answer these questions for me, and thus, I've refused surgery and have been getting acupuncture instead for the past 6 months.
Avatar f tn The Dr was quite certain that my condition was due to my stressful job and commented that it was a rare condition he had only seen in 4 other patients - all of whom were women in a similar position. I had 4 or 5 hospital stays, A&E visits over the years and each time bloods are taken and results normal. My Dr thinks that the condition will settle over the next couple of years but I'm inclined to disagree.
Avatar n tn I am in the process of undergoing testing. I had symptoms of gall stones and went to my doctor. I was having pain in my right shoulder and on my right side at the rib cage. The pain comes and goes. My doctor sent me for an ultrasound. The specialist said that I had no gall stones but that I had a 7cm mass in my liver. I then had one kind of CT scan, and they said that I needed another because that one did not show the liver at the right angle. Today, I went in for a second CT scan.
Avatar f tn My family doctor thought that perhaps I had a kidney stone. But nothing showed up in cat scan. The same thing happened in Oct. I saw my gyn today and she said that she had been hearing about post ablation syndrome but that they had never had a patient exhibit this before so lucky me I am the first. She just flat out said to me that she believes the ablation failed. I have to go Thursday to have an ultrasound done.
1455812 tn?1288103369 Now here I am three years later, still dealing with pvc's, and just now deciding to actually figure out why. I also, had kidney stones while pregnant. I wonder in some strange way if all this stuff could be related???
