Avatar f tn Urinary tract (which consists of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and the urethra) infections are very common in young women. Symptoms of UTI are frequent urination, burning sensation during urination, passing of blood in urine and even fever. The most common causes of repeated UTIs are kidney stones and diabetes mellitus. Women who are sexually active, who use diaphragms for birth control, and/or are past menopause are at an increased risk for urinary tract infections.
Avatar n tn Pass urine as soon as you feel the urge and do not try to hold urine for longer as this can cause infections and kidney stones. Cranberry and other citrus juices and citrus fruits help in washing away the infective organism from the urinary tract. Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
Avatar f tn Hello, These symptoms of feeling to urinate associated with kidney stones can be due to strangury. It is painful, frequent urination of small volumes that are expelled slowly only by straining and despite a severe sense of urgency. Get the size of kidney stones evaluated. Drink plenty of water and talk to your nephrologist regarding the treatment of kidney stones which include pain killers, trying avoiding taking calcium rich foods. If the symptoms persist then surgical intervention is needed.

154765 tn?1237251544 If your urine culture returns as negative, then other very rare causes include kidney/bladder stones, urinary retention, pelvic masses and bladder tumors. If you have had bladder neck surgery for incontinence, there is the possibility of bladder outlet obstruction, or "foreign body" in the bladder, which can slso cause the symptoms. you need to get worked up by a urogynecologist or urologist for these, especially if there is also urine leakage.
Avatar f tn Also, is there any associated change in urine character ( red or tea colored urine), passing of sediments ( stones?) or difficulty initiating urination? I suggest that you seek immediate consult with a nephrologist to have this completely assessed by your physician .A urinalysis , CT scan of the kidneys, ureter and bladder and certain blood tests to determine kidney functions are essential. Presence of swelling in the extremities with pain and urinary symptoms may suggest kidney disease.
Avatar n tn You say that you;re not sleeping at night, so ofcourse you are taking naps. dinking that much water ofcourse your going to bathroom alot..and the diarrhea could also be from the water..(ofcourse you should go to a doctor) but rationally all of your symptoms seem to have a reason behind them...you are just scaring yourself...relax..
Avatar f tn Yes, when I have a stone or stones, I'll have a much more frequent urge to urinate than when I don't have a stone. I've also experienced a very slight burning sensation at times with a stone too. Are you on anything like Flomax? I've noticed a more frequent urge since I've been taking Flomax too. Not sure if that's the Flomax, or just my age coming into play.LOL!
Avatar m tn frequent urination (no night urination, even if I feel that my bladder is full, if I fall asleep I won't wake up until I'm supposed to); sometimes pain when I urinate (from mild to severe burning pain); shakes, nausea, cold body temperature and my face gets pale (but I guess those are caused by the Anxiety attacks cause they happen only when I'm in public and can't normally go); mild to severe kidney pains, usually severe as I said before, it stops my breathing.
Avatar m tn (this is my 3rd doc but now i had it checked in a well known hospital, the last 2 check up was from a clinic and it was more then 5 months ago) i told my doc that my main symptoms were frequent urination and slight burning feeling and i told him that i took all the antibiotics for chlamydia and gono. so to his assumption he said that it doesn't look like an std and said it could be a kidney stone.
Avatar f tn For the past 4 months i have had frequent urination and bladder pressure and discomfurt. I have had countles urin analysis's, the first one showing an infecton that was cured, but my symtoms never changed. I stopped drinking my normal 2 cups of coffe a day and it helped a little but it is still there. My doctor thinks it could be kidney stones. I was wondering if anyone had any other opinions.
Avatar n tn You will need to take care to restrict certain foods in your diet, especially vitamin C, as it has been reported to aggravate signs and symptoms of both kidney stones and interstitial cystitis.
Avatar n tn Hello, These symptoms can be due to a kidney stones or infection of the kidney. From the colicky nature, site of the pain and difficulty in urination, this is an important possibility which needs to be evaluated. Patients with urinary calculi may report pain, infection, or hematuria. I suggest you to get an ultrasound or CT abdomen. Please discuss this possibility with a urologist. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn The blood test was normal excpet slightly low sodium levels, the culture showed staphylococcus aureus colony count 100 cfu/ml I also got a sonography done through which i got to know I have 5 kidney stones, 3 in right and 2 in left kidney, one stone in the right kidney is 6.23 mm rest all are 4 or 3mm.
Avatar n tn Hey everyone, From last one and half month I am suffering from problem of frequent urination (a urination after very five minutes). I visited the clinic and performed urine tests several times. Every time doctor told me that your results are normal. He performed a blood test for prostate, it also came normal. I took a course of ciprofloxacin and then doxycycline. Nothing worked.
Avatar f tn I went to a different dr this time and he gave me a urine test and they found the same thing, just a trace of blood, so he didn't want to put me on antibiotics again because he didn't know for sure what was wrong with me so he made me an appointment with a urologist and he also gave me a couple weeks of flomax for my symptoms just in case I had kidney stones.
Avatar n tn My 15 year old daughter had a CT scan to check for kidney stones. The doctor told me the results showed stones in both kidneys...more in the right than in the left. Also showed a 4cm by 4cm cyst on the right ovary. She put her on birth control pills for a couple of cycles to see if the cyst goes away. So we are starting month 1 with the birth control pills, and waiting for an ultrasound in a month or two. As for the kidney stones...
Avatar m tn 30 yr old male, sore lower back/lower abdomen, more and more frequent urination in middle of night, discomfort sitting long periods of time, really sore after riding bicycle, sometimes have trouble getting erection & keeping one. had ct scan to check for kidney stones- came back negative. don't have much stress in my life right now. father had enlarged prostate in late 40s + 50s. any guesses?
Avatar n tn yeh i decided to see a urologist he is going to charge $350 just for the initial asessment. hard but i have to do this. it has bee n quite troublesome. my dad had a history of kidney stones so who knowws. i think your assesment about the itchiness being a fungal infection is correct. i have very sensitive skin ... a question -- if it is indeed a stone in my left ureter, how is that normally removed?
Avatar f tn Otherwise, I am still looking over my solutions. I did notice, however, that when I began having trouble with kidney stones, I also, began feeling even more urgency to urinate and even........embarassing but true.............wet the bed and even wet myself while in the grocery store because I couldn't make it to the restroom. However, during that time and also to this day, I cannot fully empty my bladder, causing pain and discomfort.
Avatar n tn I have chronic fatigue. No desire to do much of anything most of the time. Frequent urination, I seem to spend more time in the restroom then out of it. I have trouble sleeping at night. I've tried ambien, but it doesn't seem to help, I'm still very tired the next day and wake up with a headache when I take it. I'm also very forgetful, this drives me crazy, I've never been this bad about forgetting things. Random abdominal pain.
Avatar n tn Are calcium oxalates significant in human urine sediment? I have had frequent urination and mild burning on/off for 1 week. The urine stick was neg for blood, PH 6.5, PRO - Trace, SG-1.030 and Bacteria rods? and calcium oxalates in the sediment. I do not have any back or side pain, but did have some pink discharge for 2 days after urinating but only once or twice on each day. I also just finished my period 3--4 days prior to the pink discharge and my period seemed heavier than normal.
Avatar n tn I also have experienced weight loss, from 150 to 120 pounds in 6 months. I also have very frequent urination, which I have experienced for several years. Blood was found in a recent urine sample, another sample showed atypical urothelial cells. Cystoscopy was normal. Abdominal ultra sound was normal but air in intestine blocked the technician from seeing more. Pelvic ultra sound scheduled. Could cancer in another area of my body cause atypical urothelial cells in my urine?
Avatar n tn i have had frequent urination and back pain for a week now the doctor put me on cipro i am on my last day of the medication and i still have all the same symptoms.
