1244856 tn?1294760029 Honestly, I am very surprised that someone has not beat me to this. Since I am female I do not share the epiditimitis portion of you symptoms, however the kidney pain is a very common problem with MSKer's. We have all had to endure the ER docs and their assumption that we are junkies looking for a fix. I got in the habit of bringing my x-rays with me when I went in. Just to prove that I did in fact have stones in my kidneys.
Avatar n tn And about once a week, I have to pass a kidney stone, and its' extremely painful. The weird thing is that I don't get any of the symptoms of kidney stones, like nausea or extreme pain in my flank. The pain only occurs at the tip of my pee-tube when it's finally coming out. Okay, and that's just the kidney stone part - let me start on the constipation/metabolism parts: I'm always constipated, I go weeks without a bowel movement.
Avatar f tn I'm a woman in my early twenties with GERD, ovarian cysts, annual kidney stones, lactose intolerance, and pellet stools. I began having lactose intolerance when I was a kid. I have had pellet stool since I can remember. Everything else appeared when I wasin my senior year of college. I've been on Nexium for 2 years. I do not take it everyday bc I know it's bad for you. I feel fine if I just take them 2 times a week. Tums and Prilosec does not work.
Avatar f tn I am a poor water drinker which contributes to the formation of most kidney stones. I suggest that you have your stones analysed if you have not done that. I was told by 2 urologists that there is nothing that I can take or do that will change my situation. Both urologist told me the same as what yours said, my chronic back pain was not related to kidney stones. They were correct and I was diagnosed with other issues that was the cause of most of my chronic low back pain.
Avatar f tn I know that when I have had a problem (I am prone to getting kidney stones), when I start to drink lots of water with freshly squeezed lemon juice everyday, it comes away like a sandy sediment in the urine. The doctor can prescribe stronger pain relief medication than what you can buy over the counter.
Avatar f tn I get on antibiotics, then I feel better but it seems it doesn't go away completely and it comes back, I start feeling kidney pain thrn it goes away with antibiotics, then comes back. Im not sure if is thr same bacteria that is not fully killed or have different bacterias im just very overwhelming and starting to get depressed. So far I had two ultrasound my kidneys look fine no stones. And had a urine sample and is nothing abnormal.
Avatar f tn Ileocecal Valve Syndrome, has to be investigated thoroughly, as I think that is the main cause of your girl's issues. All her symptoms are TYPICAL of IVS, including the kidney issues. You see toxicity is normally handled by the liver, but with food rotting in the small intestine because of IVS with the ileocecal valve being closed most of the time, the build up of toxins and bacteria cannot be handled by an overworked liver.
Avatar f tn I have a damaged kidney from years ago, and when I get dehydrated, I get little tiny kidney stones that it takes a while to clear. Again, mine is an usual situation, but I did get some small kidney stones while on Diflucan (a rather high dose for several months, which is unusual) and it has taken a while for them to clear. So I think most people would not get that problem, and it's because of my damaged kidney.
Avatar n tn Hi, The way I understand your urinalysis showed rbc numbering at 3-5 /hpf and the normal reference for your laboratory was less than 3? Is this correct? Were you able to visibly or grossly note bleeding in your urine? In other laboratories, urine RBC's numbering up to 5 may still be acceptable. So I feel that in your case, this may be a mild case of microscopic hematuria. In the presence of mild hematuria, other factors have to be noted like bacteria and WBC levels.
554628 tn?1362781519 Kidney stones do cause similar kind of symptoms; ultrasound is quite diagnostic for stones. Please get the investigations done to rule out these possibilities (blood sugar too) Reported Report this Spam Abuse by tarrah87 Leave a Note Send Message Add as Friend tarrah87 Female, 21 years kodak - TN Member since Jul 2008 Mood: tarrah87 is starting school aug.
1522652 tn?1291241954 I know that there is a link beginning with my chronic uti's as a child, to my severe pms as an adolecent into adulthood, and then on to my chronic kidney stones and infections as an adult, and then the loss of my kidney, as well as the problems I'm experiencing now. My question is what specific tests do I need to request to accurately check my thyroid, parathyroid, and my calcium levels? Also, are there any specific questions that I need to ask.
Avatar n tn Last year EWSL was attempted 3X to remove small, stubborn stones in my right kidney. Stones were not blocking the ureter but were causing pain for months. After 3rd attempt at EWSL it was decided to try laser treatment cystoscopically. This was "partially" successful. Some of the stones were removed, some he was not able to reach. I was left with a stint which came out before I made it home from the hospital.
910419 tn?1289487327 If someone could offer me a cure for my genetic disorder, I would jump at the opportunity. No kidney-stones, no chronic pain. No chronic pain, no pain medication needed. No pain medication, no abuse & subsequent addiction to said prescription pain-killers. Offer me a cure, and I'm jumping at it. Anyone that doesn't want a cure is a glutton for punishment or has come to like the attention of doctors, PM's, ER's, hospitals, etc, a little too much, and has other issues all together...
Avatar n tn Other causes include bladder stones, ureteral stones, and interstitial cystitis Bladder stones are uncommon in women particularly young women with sterile urine. They can cause slowing of the urine stream and forcing to urinate. Though rare, a urachal cyst might be a consideration. Ureteral stones can cause urgency and frequency with small volumes and yet the urinalysis is clear. You might also consider a problem outside of the urinary tract, such as spastic bowel or diverticulitis.
Avatar f tn I have an 18-year history with kidney stones with about 2 dozen episodes. The symptoms did not match the typical kidney stones, so I thought it was an infection that anti-biotics would cure. Still I drank lots of water trying to flush the system. My stream was getting gradually getting weaker with each urination. Finally, just after midnight, the stream was at a trickle, I could not sit there all night, so I gave a good push. Like a champagne cork, 2 stones shot out.
481119 tn?1208276891 i have been told i have degenerative cortical kidney cysts, could someone please help and tell me what this means its driving me crazy?!!!
Avatar f tn (My father suffers from kidney stones). I have been drinking lots of water and herbal teas. One doctor I spoke with over the phone suggested Bactrim antibiotic for 8 days. When I drink lots of water, it feels somewhat better. So I've been on bactrim for 2 days now, but I see no difference. According to you can this irritation be due to those crystals in urine, provoking this problem? Can antibiotics make it all worse if not bacteria was the cause of the irritation?
192055 tn?1263559137 Hi there, I have had about 12 kidney stones and even when my stones are in my kidney I am having flank pain. My doctors tell me that i should not be having pain when the stones are still in the kidney. I also have blood in my urine and have had two clear CTs ... I saw a nephrologist today and he is wanting to do a 24 hour urine sample to figure out why i have blood in my urine. I will keep you posted on what happens with me..
Avatar m tn I think the main thing we all strive for is a clear diagnosis, we need to know what we are fighting against before we can move forward, i have now been 5 years undiagnosed, but yet my problems and abdominal pains have got worse and worse and the doctors gave me more and more medication to combat symptoms. I am sick of nobody being able to tell me what is going on,so i have been devoting my life to researching stomach problems, the cause of abdominal pains and treatment.
1806721 tn?1554337007 And that the pain I was having indicated more toward the left kidney but yet no stones etc. I'll be curious to see what you find out.
1832268 tn?1326819610 Breed, Age, Symptoms, Creatine, Bun, and Phorsphorus levels at time of first exam that revealed Kidney Disease, as well as End Stage Symptoms and Lab Values ( if known. ) How Quickly did the disease progress. Did the dog die naturally, or was the death assisted. I think this type of information would be very helpful to anyone and their dog, who has to deal with this disease.
1963554 tn?1325451090 He said that his right kidney is destroyed and that his left kidney has about 25% left. He has a tumor within his bladder and his urine cannot pass thru which goes into his kidney and damages it. When we had Shaggy checked out in May our vet said that it's UTI...because I mentioned to him that he'd pee and then go to other spots and nothing comes out. So he was given anti-biotics. This went on for several months.

383138 tn?1314171373 goes, chills/sweats and I keep loosing weight (went from my normal 155 down to 130 in last 6 months). CT without contrast did not show any kidney stones, it only showed pelvic phleboliths (calcium like stones in my pelvic veins which dr. didn't seem concerned about those). I am supposed to see urologist for cytoscope, but cant get in for 3 weeks. I am wondering if endo could be causing all the kidney, bladder pressure, pain, left side pain, increasing sickness, weight loss, etc.
1916673 tn?1420236870 Everything you have said about symptoms are connected with the kidney disease. The lumps could be cancerous, but I have to say they may not be, because old dogs get lumps just like old humans. Sometimes they are cancerous, sometimes not. In a way, these are secondary to the kidney disease, which needs to be the priority for now. I am always surprised when vets put dogs with CKF on dry dog food. This really is not good.
Avatar m tn I had lythotripsy laser surgery 2 years ago due to several kidney stones, one of them being about 13mm.
Avatar f tn • no libido (very different from past); • dehydration; • vision blurry; • severe osteopenia (2-yrs ago); • kidney stones; • intestinal bloating; • urine excessive volume; • urine, excessive calcium excreted; • depressed; • tumors, cysts, and polyps all over my body; • blood test PTH: normal; • blood test Calcium: High Normal; • 3-neck/thyroid Ultrasounds, 3-Sestimbi Tests: all inconclusive/suspicious. NOW where do I go and what do I do??
Avatar f tn There are treatments which will help you to manage your kidney stones but there is no cure for kidney stones. I myself have had kidney stones for the last 12 years and have had about 15 large stones and 2 operations to remove stones that were to large to pass. Kidney stones are painful but is not something that is life threatening such as advanced HCV and liver failure or many other diseases. In the big picture it is something that can be managed and you can live a normal life.
Avatar f tn I know I've flushed out kidney stones. I've figured out that the cause of my kidney stones is high fructose corn syrup in some of my favorite foods like fig bars which I've given up. I would not be surprised if that had something to do with my gall stones.
