Avatar f tn I concur with Spotjeff. My natural doctor says: "Most kidney stones are composed of calcium oxalate. Magnesium makes calcium more soluble in the urine, and inhibits the formation of calcium-oxalate crystals. One study examined 55 people with reoccurring kidney stones, who were given 500 milligrams of magnesium daily for up to 4 years. the study showed that 85% of these people remained stone0free compared with 41% in a group of people who did not receive magnesium supplements.
Avatar m tn My Mother once had Kidney stones 20-years ago. She had an operation to have the stones removed only to find that they came back a year later in full force. 2053959 tn?1330448602 My son had his surgery on Mar 12th. The doc removed 4 stones from the right kidney and 1 large stone from the left. Recovery was very painful for him. Had to go back to the ER for morphine to help the pain. Got a fever a few days after that. In the end, the surgery didn't help much for his overall pain. His right side still hurts all the time. He's hardly at school and I have to get his work from the office. He's seen a nephrologist who give him Rx to help new stones from forming. But that's it.

Avatar m tn It is btw never the surface antigen that is attacked by anything, but the infected cells, the surface antigen simply reflects the number of cells in which it is made. Antivirals simply enter kidney cells as they are circulating medications. They do not improve kidney function, sometimes they can be toxic to the kidney cells since they tend to concentrate in them. AFP can be mildly elevated simply by hepatic inflammation, not indicating HCC.

My cousin had cataracts at 50 yr of age because he only drank tap water because some bimbo told him distilled water was bad for him. He had to have cataracts removed from both eyes at 50 because he was so blind he could not see the the biggest letter on the eye chart.
Avatar m tn Beside stones, there may be a "biliary sludge" in the gb, which is a kind of pre-stones bile - stones will eventually develop from it. Ultrasound often can't detect this sludge. CT is much better for detecting sludge, but even this is not entirely reliable. HIDA is most reliable, but it actually doesn't show stones, but only gb function. So, it is possible that someone have lowered gb function due to stress or "unknown reason".
Avatar n tn 24 I know and understand what everyone is going through with kidney infections. I am a sufferer from chronic kidney infections, and kidney stones for 5 years now. But it doesn't happen after I have sexual intercourse. Instead this problem was caused by a surgery I had to remove endometeroisis. My right ureter was catuerized and they had to re-implant the ureter back into the bladder... Now causing Vesico-ureteral Reflux.

Avatar n tn I have been to a GYN, Urologists, primary care physicians, you name it I have seen them. I have had kidney stones removed, laproscopic surgery (nothing abnormal) and a cystopy (spelling). I was actually hoping that the Lap would indicate that they had found something wrong so they could fix it. My GYN seems to think our next step is to remove the uterus, I just don't see how this can help.
