Avatar f tn It relieves constipation, distention, chronic fever, cold, sexual disorders, kidney stones, heart pain, backache, sciatica and other pains in the joints.
Avatar f tn I have had over 60 kidney stones and unfortunately this is the way it works - if you go to a doctor complaining of the pain, they set you up for an ultrasound or ct scan, etc. A lot of times you have to wait weeks or months for that test depending on the insurance, etc. Meanwhile you are in a ton of pain and if you DO happen to pass a stone before the test you may never know.
Avatar m tn My Mother once had Kidney stones 20-years ago. She had an operation to have the stones removed only to find that they came back a year later in full force. She did not want to have an operation every year.... so she learnt about how apples and apple juice completely dissolves Kidney Stones. Why don't all Doctors know that? A good friend of my Father's had gallstones last year when he came to visit us. He also complained about having painful gallstone attacks everyday.
Avatar n tn i feel that your symptoms might mean that, unfortunately, you have some permament kidney damage. But the good news is that we have much more kidney function than we need, so when we loose a chunk somehow, our body needs time to adjust but then things start to work like they did. Okay, I know a lot of information already, I am 26, I have malignant hypertension, and a scarred atrophied left kidney that does not work anymore.
1963554 tn?1325451090 I lost my own 12 yr old rescued lurcher, BB, at the start of December - having been given the news about 4th stage kidney failure by the vet only a week beforehand. Within that week she went from being just a bit off her food but otherwise completely active and contented - to a dog that hadn't eaten for 3 days (no matter what we tried to feed her with, inlcuding all her favourite things), and couldn't stand up without support, who seemed totally exhausted and occasionally confused.
1832268 tn?1326819610 We brought him home and did twice daily under skin fluids plus standard recommended meds and kidney diet. We then took him to a kidney specialist who was trying to determine at what stage of Kidney disease he was at. Got his levels down a little more a week little later, things were looking promising and his energy levels were increasing dramatically. Less than a week later, he completely stopped eating. Took him to specialist after 2 days of not eating.
Avatar f tn This is one of the most difficult things I've ever had to deal with. My beloved Gypsy is dying of kidney failure. Gypsy is a Jack Russell Terrier and she turned 18...yes 18...on Christmas Day. It's just so hard to know when it is "time." I prayed and prayed that she would give us one final parting gift and die on her own in her sleep...but she is SUCH a fighter and refused to surrender to this thing.
2361255 tn?1339611918 I have never met a dog yet that won't eat green tripe, it stinks to high heaven, but they love it and it's full of natural ingredients, minerals and nutrition. You can buy natural meats and white fish for dogs at any good pet store, look in the freezer department or you might have to ask about it. So sorry to hear about your dad, on top of everything else. You are really going through the mill right now.
1916673 tn?1420236870 Higher than normal potassium is not very unusual in kidney disease, but it is important to discount other potential causes - including kidney or urinary tract stones. An ultra-sound and white blood cell (WBC) count will help identify if stones are a problem. Phosphorus is also too high. Dogs acquire phosphorus directly from food, and normally (in healthy dogs) any excess is excreted through the kidneys.
Avatar f tn Hi Christina. I think the peach stone wouldn't have caused the kidney disease. The stones do contain toxic substances, but in relatively small quantities. The swimming in stagnant water is a possibility, but quite honestly, I think this kidney disease began maybe 2 or 3 years ago, so again it may have adversely affected an already existing condition, but not necessarily caused it.
Avatar m tn She was admitted to the hospital but died six days later. According to NBC News San Diego, Erick's autopsy report concluded she died of "severe anoxic brain injury secondary to cardiopulmonary arrest, most likely due to turmeric infusion." Erick had sought treatment from the doctor for eczema. She had taken turmeric supplements in the past, but had never before had an infusion.
489228 tn?1291535054 I hope I can get some help, I have been diagnoised with Medullary Sponge Kidney disease. Both of my kidneys are full of stones, the largest of which is 6mm in the left kidney. I also have IC (Interstitial Cystitis), About 10 years ago half way through a surgery to remove a large stone, they realized the instruments were not sterile! In the end I came down with a bad hospital infection that was not properly treated!
168348 tn?1379360675 I'm not too well versed but if ok with my kidney stones (cannot take some supplements bcz I create calcium oxalate stones) I am willing to take something to help with the muscle cramps I am getting. It proceeded into a full blown charlie-horse in the calf this morning ..... any thoughts? I'm game to try something o-t-c! All my minerals, vitamins, etc., were good when tested in November with the Endo .. this also included 24hr urine study done by Urologist and all was normal then.
Avatar f tn We found out that he has 1 mm sized kidney stones, and that's where the pain was coming from. It runs in his family, but we caught it early when the stones were small. While we were at the Uerologist finding this out, the doctor mentioned the bumps...lucky for me, right!? haha. Anyways, he says he thinks he knows what it is, but we have to go back in a few days for his appointment to have a biopsy of some sort to diagnose the bumps!
Avatar f tn She had over 10 operations for kidney stones, and was receiving government disability payments for an inoperable, terminal, kidney condition. She attributes the cure of this kidney trouble entirely to the asparagus. I was not surprised at this result, as `The elements of materia medica', edited in 1854 by a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania , stated that asparagus was used as a popular remedy for kidney stones.
646318 tn?1261185094 There are many types of kidney stones. Most kidney stones are not uric acid stones. If you have a kidney stone you need to make it pass. To do that the best thing to do is drink plenty of water. So much that you are not even thirsty and your sick of water. Keep a water bottle with you all the time a sip it from time to time. The other thing to do is to stay active. Walk around keep moving. That will get the stone to move. Do you have a history in your family of kidney stones?
630321 tn?1222288127 She was told that her kidney function is 50% of normal due to the accumulation of calcium which has never passed as a stone. (She's never had stones - this is the first we've learned of any kidney problem.) She has been prescribed medication - don't know what - and I have the impression that she will be taking the medication forever. This freaks me out!
Avatar f tn I really don't know about what you can do for your kidneys except drink a lot of cranberry juice. I had kidney stones the first of the summer and I knew I had to get that fixed before I went on any treatment. I had them do the shock wave treatment and it crushed up most all of the stones. I remember I did drink a lot of coconut water the kind in the healthy food section and you know when I came home from the hospital and had to pass the stones myself I didn't have any pain passing them.
1611319 tn?1378621999 Hi, I have had many calcium oxalate kidney stones and my para's are ok after repeated tests. Crystals can be the pre-cursor, as I understand, to calcium oxalate stones OR they can be small pieces that have broken off an actual stone. If your para's aren't working right you may be producing too much calcium and stones can form. Not sure on the Low D except to be sure they treat you with supplements if they agree. Mine was very low and felt better with supplemental D.

Avatar f tn OK - There's GOOD news and NOT so good news. The GOOD news is that I have NO blockages at all!!! YAY!!!! The NOT so good news is that we have NO idea WHY my leg turns RED when I sit up and goes BACK to it's natural color when I lay back down. SOOOO I'm throwing this question out to you guys and see if we can come up with some ideas as to what's happening here.
Avatar f tn now about three months ago i went to the hospital again for pain in my kidneys and was told i had kidney stones and have had them ever since and when i dont my kidneys still hurt and i feel nauseated i went back to my doctor again and asked how often i can get them and all she said was often and sent me for a ct.
1293869 tn?1277361583 It could be a kidney infection, UTI, gall stones, etc. Try to keep your cool, and don't worry about kidney failure. My experience has been that when I get anxious and stressed out about my symptoms, they tend to get worse. I know it sounds weird, but I'm so relieved that you responded saying you have similar issues. I'm starting to worry that I'm just going crazy since they can't find anything wrong with me. I'll keep you up to date if I find anything out from my doctors.
489228 tn?1291535054 They also blasted my 2 largers stones in my left kidney. I had NO STENT! He said he ususally only does one kidney at a time, however we had no insurance so he did both. He also warned us they usually when doing both he uses a stent however he was able to avoid if becuase there was not much bleeding. I have had little to no pain on the left and the right only more instense then before surgery for the first day or two!..
Avatar m tn I get a CT Scan every 6 months and have 4 stones in left kidney and 2 in right kidney. Please read my post about kidney stones (says something like Kidney Stone & this is my story) cause I need someone to talk too or someone that is or has gone through all this agony. You will understand if you go to my post. Thanks for listening/reading. I have been through several urologist & they just don't know.
Avatar n tn I have recently been in the hopital, and I am still uncertain if I was having gall stones or kidney stones, but I had the pain of kidney stones. The cat scan revealed no evidence of kidney stones, but my urine test revealed that I had blood in my urine, and had a urinary track infection. I was put on Coprofloxacin for that.
2053959 tn?1330448602 My son had his surgery on Mar 12th. The doc removed 4 stones from the right kidney and 1 large stone from the left. Recovery was very painful for him. Had to go back to the ER for morphine to help the pain. Got a fever a few days after that. In the end, the surgery didn't help much for his overall pain. His right side still hurts all the time. He's hardly at school and I have to get his work from the office. He's seen a nephrologist who give him Rx to help new stones from forming. But that's it.
Avatar n tn I have no children as I would not wish my condition on my worst enemy. I have Cystinuria, by the way. I make kidney-stones big and fast, and I require surgery about once a month on average to have them removed as they're too big to pass naturally. Sorry for the bad news Sister. There's a 50/50 chance your children will come out with what you have. Now, the decision is yours... do you want to take the chance? I didn't want to...
1282416 tn?1271443254 Toxicity causes absorption of too much calcium resulting in kidney stones, kidney failure and calcification of the arteries. The above recommendation is well within the safe range. As for your Magnesium make sure to take only Magnesium Citrate or Malate as your body absorbs it better.
