5900973 tn?1396067991 I found out monday I have kidney stones for the 2nd time this pregnancy... :( I am going in friday for my csection and just hoping the pain eases up for me or that I just pass the dang stone... I dont want to be dealing with that after the birth. It just seems like bad timing, not that there is a good time for these things... Tmi but my urine looks like cranberry juice, kinda scary but I know its from the stone. I have been drinking tons of water.
1963554 tn?1325451090 He said that his right kidney is destroyed and that his left kidney has about 25% left. He has a tumor within his bladder and his urine cannot pass thru which goes into his kidney and damages it. When we had Shaggy checked out in May our vet said that it's UTI...because I mentioned to him that he'd pee and then go to other spots and nothing comes out. So he was given anti-biotics. This went on for several months.
1832268 tn?1326819610 We brought him home and did twice daily under skin fluids plus standard recommended meds and kidney diet. We then took him to a kidney specialist who was trying to determine at what stage of Kidney disease he was at. Got his levels down a little more a week little later, things were looking promising and his energy levels were increasing dramatically. Less than a week later, he completely stopped eating. Took him to specialist after 2 days of not eating.
Avatar f tn Hi mommies and mommies to be, as of Saturday I was 22weeks and admitted to the hospital for a reoccurring kidney issue. ( about 2.5 years ago I almost died from ecoli in my left kidney and was in the hospital for 12 days with Iv anti biotics and 3 months out of work and on meds by mouth) I came in 3 weeks ago for kidney pain and was found to have a bacterial infection, was given bactrum in a very high dose for 3 days...
Avatar f tn You can take Tums, just don't take more than 8 a day because you could get kidney stones. Acid floats, so if you drink a lot of water you might get it worse so try milk. Fun old wives tale, heartburn supposed to mean your baby will have a lot of hair. I know it's not always the case, but it sure was with me. My boy was born needing a hair cut. Good luck ladies.
18070169 tn?1463179514 No UTI, no infections in any of the organs and no stones or anything in the kidney or gallbladder. At this time I was also taking zolpidem every night. I read some stuff on zolpidem side effects and it appeared that after my surgery some of the rare side effects started cropping up. I attributed my anxiety to that. So I quit the zolpidem ct (which I probably shouldn't have) and did have a miserable few weeks, but a lot of the pains I was feeling went away.
1282416 tn?1271443254 Toxicity causes absorption of too much calcium resulting in kidney stones, kidney failure and calcification of the arteries. The above recommendation is well within the safe range. As for your Magnesium make sure to take only Magnesium Citrate or Malate as your body absorbs it better.
Avatar f tn A deficiency has been linked to conditions such as irregular heart beat, asthma, emphysema, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, mitral valve prolapse, stroke and heart attack, diabetes, fibromyalgia, glaucoma, migraine, kidney stones, osteoporosis, and probably many more." "The RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance) is 420 mg/day for men and 320 mg/day for women. Unfortunately, recent surveys have shown that many Americans have a dietary intake of 200 mg/day or less.
Avatar f tn I'm scared because I get kidney stones all the time. Left kidney has been hurting but I don't want to go to the dr... I don't want to be given anything. Weird huh??!!
690241 tn?1227390813 ) I read her comment and saw what you posted and yes, I believe that is true about diet not being able to prevent stones; it can in the case of kidney stones but not when you have MSK I believe, as you said.
Avatar n tn I have been getting alot of bladder infections, when they discovered my hep c, but they also discovered kidney stones, I get to go to my kidney specialist on Monday, doctors and more doctors, but water is the best recipe for infections.
9905230 tn?1409236395 I was actually surprised in how much easier it was than what everyone cracked it up to be! My kidney stones were more painful than labor and birth. I have an EXTREMELY low pain tolerance, too. I did everything all natural as well. I labored in a warm tub while I was in the hospital, and as much as I could at home. I know it sounds crazy, but you have to just live in the moment with every contraction. I tried to sleep through them, they said I pretty much hypnotized myself.
Avatar f tn My mom had all 5 of us natural and being a type 1 diabetic made us all 10 - 12 lb babies. She says it was way less painful than passing kidney stones. My mom is also a very small woman. 2 of us broke her hips and one of my sisters gave her a heart attack during birth but she says if she had the choice, she would choose natural again.
5288248 tn?1370882123 Welcome back, Angie. You've had quite the ride with medical issues for sure! Now if all of this is behind you....and you are on Day 6 once can GO FOR IT...and it can be your last time, huh? GOOD FOR YOU!!!! Yep, the restless body, depression and feelings of regret are overwhelming....but they will pass....they truly will. Nothing last forever except our addictions...haha.....
Avatar f tn The magnesium is already balancing the acidity, so by adding alkaline water you are pushing the alkaline balance in the opposite direction - and this can lead to kidney stones, bladder stones, painful urination and it can damage the kidneys too. So, in short, I would stop using alkaline water straight away and switch to filtered water. The filtered water has (importantly) less sodium and chemicals but retains an appropriate source of essential minerals. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn I get a CT Scan every 6 months and have 4 stones in left kidney and 2 in right kidney. Please read my post about kidney stones (says something like Kidney Stone & this is my story) cause I need someone to talk too or someone that is or has gone through all this agony. You will understand if you go to my post. Thanks for listening/reading. I have been through several urologist & they just don't know.
Avatar n tn I have recently been in the hopital, and I am still uncertain if I was having gall stones or kidney stones, but I had the pain of kidney stones. The cat scan revealed no evidence of kidney stones, but my urine test revealed that I had blood in my urine, and had a urinary track infection. I was put on Coprofloxacin for that.
2053959 tn?1330448602 My son had his surgery on Mar 12th. The doc removed 4 stones from the right kidney and 1 large stone from the left. Recovery was very painful for him. Had to go back to the ER for morphine to help the pain. Got a fever a few days after that. In the end, the surgery didn't help much for his overall pain. His right side still hurts all the time. He's hardly at school and I have to get his work from the office. He's seen a nephrologist who give him Rx to help new stones from forming. But that's it.
Avatar m tn Since your wife is prone to kidney stones, she may be prone to gall stones too. In bad cases, they will go ahead and take the gall bladder out even during pregnancy. Have they ruled out any of these three options?
Avatar f tn I've been taking magnesium (300 mg of magnesium citrate) via a product called Natural Calm for about four months. Originally my family doctor (an MD with extensive knowledge of supplements) thought I should try it for my high blood pressure, but over time I've found some wonderfully surprising benefits that I didn't expect. He initially suggested a topical magnesium since you don't get the digestive issues and its supposed to be the best absorbed.
Avatar m tn So, I am not a doctor, but one of the side effects I am reading about from Topamax is an increased ammonia level in the blood. Then I read that heightened ammonia in blood can lead to kidney stones, hair loss and confusion...all side effects of Topamax. So, my thinking is that adding water and maybe some milk thistle or other liver supporting supplements may help tip the balance back.
Avatar f tn 7 - Kidneys appear 'bright' on ultrasound There are no clots in my Hematuria, and I have no history of kidney stones. I've been asked several times from many specialists if the blood is vaginal bleeding, but no, it most certainly is not. (I don't get my menstrual cycle for 3 months. And I'm sure any other woman can agree with me that the difference between hematuria and vaginal bleeding is easy to tell. I'll leave out the nasties.
Avatar n tn Finally going to sleep tonight but saw this topic. I started tx in march, had multiple uti kidney stones were found which has an affect on urine & bacteria, took two times to 'zap' them...yes it does hurt but not that bad and now I get to suffer with this hep c sx & kidney infections and a two day pee in jugs! so embarrassing, but water helps.... baths I was told can have germs in the tub... that can find their germy way where they are not suppose to be.
Avatar f tn Restless sleep, back pain, neck pain, headaches, fatigue, breathing difficulties, nervousness, muscle cramps and other symptoms. It won't interact with your thyroid meds either.
Avatar m tn Had no idea what it meant but didn’t take it seriously enough as to Google it. Discussed it with coworkers that mentioned kidney stones, and that was enough for me. Next thing you know I’m drinking apple cider vinegar, and dropping coffee. Now, work has been stressful at the start of it. I work in an office so sitting for long periods of time. And when I get home I do the same thing. My BMI is borderline normal.
Avatar n tn To make a long story short I have put on a whopping 50LBS on my tiny patiete bone sructure! I had kidney stones recently and was totally blown away when I asked my uroligist if the kidney stones I was having had anything to do with me gaining weight and not being able to stop it or take it off! I cried and I was so mad at my regular Doc because I had worked so hard to take off excess baby 190lbs post partum! Any way I weigh that now and I'm not even Preg!
4626633 tn?1382600722 I cannot get them unless I faked kidney stones, which I don't have the acting ability, or physical ability, to fake scream, cry and all that. When I get my stones, I'm literally crying, rocking, screaming for hours on end. I can't fake that, and won't. But the cravings there, can't lie. Thanks everyone! Ps, I read about Kava Kava. It's the only thing I haven't tried. But I'm not sure it's a good alternative. Has anyone heard of or used?
1358341 tn?1282213443 My sister thinks that her levels variation is due to the fact that she is old, and sometimes her kidney works, sometimes her kidney doesn't work. This would explain Creatinine variations, if she has Chronic Renal Failure because of aging and not because of phosphorus or other disease. My sister doesn't think she is cured, she thinks she is old, and that's what is causing all the health problems. And she says: you cannot cure from aging.
1396846 tn?1332463110 Stress wasn't bad yet, BP top number only scaled in at 137, considering I had a 40 mile drive in AM rush hour traffic, figured par for the course. Good news was that no new kidney stones lurked in the background...yeah.... got to cardiology for pacemaker check and weigh was 10# heavier than last time (thank you steroids) BUT BP was now 175 over something. I zoned out at the top number........
1316053 tn?1279513097 Mid back pain can also mean kidney stones and when you have IBS, sometimes other pain goes unrecognized. Diet is huge. Be very careful of what you eat! Keep a food diary with notes on how certain foods make you feel so that you have a better idea of what can trigger symptoms. Also, about the coffee. My advice is to cut way back on it. Coffee beans have a chemical in them called tenacin, the same chemical tanners use to tan leather.
