Common Questions and Answers about Kidney stones in gallbladder

Avatar f tn I really recommend that you go now and take your children with you. If it is a kidney stone, a kidney infection or your gallbladder things may get worse. Try not to take any more prescription medication before you go because the med center or hospital will most likely give you something stronger for your pain. You want your system clean or they may give you nothing. Is there anyone at all that can go with you or watch your children? Please let us know what you find out.
Avatar n tn 4 years ago I had one and they found polyps in my gallbladder. In this ultrasound, they were still there. However, he also ordered an abdominal x-ray and found calcifications. Unfortunately, when I heard calcifications, I was shocked and missed parts of what were said next. I heard "kidney or other causes" and "you need a CT scan". What is likely to be found? If it's kidney stones do I just tough it out until they pass? Is it still likely to be my gallbladder?
1203196 tn?1327434613 After a few days of abdominal pain hell I today feel better finally though my upper stomach feels as though it's gone 10 rounds with Ali in a prize fight! Tender as hell and uncomfortable. I'm terrified to eat anything at all. I saw the Doctor yesterday. She's convinced it's my gallbladder. Scheduled an ultrasound for next wednesday. Said to keep doing what I'm doing for the GERD in the meantime and we'll see what happens. Oy!
Avatar n tn stones, sludge, or infection. Again - it happens really often, that ultrasound doesn't show anything, but HIDA scan does. Just have that HIDA scan.
Avatar f tn I had an US down of my abdomen that showed lots of gallbladder stones. He did recommend the removal of the gall bladder, but does not think this is the cause of my symptoms. He thinks it is stress and anxiety. My question is, can this all be gall bladder related? I am really afraid it is cancer or some kind and it is freaking me out- especially the heartburn- it is always there, not matter what I eat.
Avatar f tn I just had my first experience with kidney stones last week...and let me tell you, theyhurt like hell!! Ive read alot of moms saying that they said kidney stones feels just like child labor. Anyone else eexperience kidney stones who already had a baby?? Just curious!
Avatar f tn sent me for an ultrasound official results not back yet the tech said she did not think she saw any stones. My question is could it still be the gallbladder and could the ultrasound have missed something. Also I have an oval shaped lump about the size of a walnut on my lower left rib cage which is movable should I be concerned about this? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.
Avatar n tn Has anyone who has suffered from kidney stones/kidney infections had any trouble with their periods? I had a long, painful period for three weeks and then the following month my period only lasted for two days but I still had a lot of pain - I was told that I could possibly have kidney stones as I had a urine infection and the pain could be linked to this.
Avatar n tn -kidney stones -IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) -liver problems -kidney infection I would stick to your gut. You know what the pain feels like. When my pain started, they tried having me do physical therapy for back pain even though I told them it wasn't that type of pain. Now I've had 10+ trips to urgent care and my primary care physician and they are just now telling me to see a urologist. It sounds pretty stupid, but you could try putting your symptoms in to the symptom-checker on WebMD...
Avatar m tn I just have a few kidney stones present in my upper kidney, 2-3mm each. Went to primary doc today, he gave me a Demerol shot and pain killers which sometimes don't even touch the pain and gave me a referal to a urologist. Problem is, I have no obstruction. The stones are not moving since a month and a half ago. Every GP I have seen keeps telling my I should not be having pain if there is no obstrucion. They say, everything looks good. I should not be having pain. So apparently I am crazy!

Avatar n tn The other problem is that I live in Texas but I am currently working in the Virgin Islands with my husband and I have been to several doctors in the VI but nothing, also we went home in Dec.and I went to my doctor there, she seems to think that it is my gallbladder and was sending me to have a Hida scan I was unable to have this procedure done before I left to come back to the VI. So if anyone can give me any advise on what to do or what this could be,it would be greatly appreciated.

Avatar f tn I just found out last night I have gallstones and kidney stones. ... im 36+6 im having constant headaches and nauseated all the time. I dont want to eat and the pain in my upper stomach/ribs is awful. I want to ask my doctor to induce me. Im dilated 3-4 60% effaced irregular contractions. .. Any advice would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn The pain was more in my back than my side, I developed nausea and hot sweats (no fever). There was still blood in my urine but no signs of an infection. My PCP felt it was kidney stones and prescribed me flomax to help pass it. Days later no change. They did a CT scan, but it showed no stones. I still have blood in my urine so they suggested I see a Urologist. Feeling frustrated I have not made an appointment yet.
1301089 tn?1290670171 I know this probably isn't the best forum for this but I know all of you and trust you. Also, others have posted about kidney stones here in the past. I have a terrible pain on my right flank. I wake up with it and it only gets worse as the day wears on. It is going on a week now. I've been more nauseated than usual. I also have more severe pain in the bladder and groin area. My Lortab aren't even touching this. I am still on my feet but just barely.. I drink lots of water.
Avatar n tn I am having my gallbladder removed in two weeks and wanted to know if having youir gallbladder removed can effect your kidneys in any way? I was concerned that my liver would not function as well therefore possible cuasing problems with jaundice or kidney stones due to the bile salts, is this possible?
Avatar m tn I have both GB stones and Kidney stones (well, the Kidney Stones come and go) and I would never do that type of regime .. not ever. The consequences can be fatal. How are you doing? Did you have your surgery? Please stop by with an update and WELCOME to our Community!
Avatar m tn 4 weeks ago I was diagnosed with kidney stones in the er, after a ct scan of my stomach. next day noticed pain across my shoulders, and some muscle weakness, esp. on right side. since then I believe I have passed the kidney stones. but still having a dull pain in lower left abdomin sometimes radiating to the right side, 1-2 out of 10 on pain threshold. and pain in my right shoulder sometimes radiating to the left shoulder, new symptom, muscle twitches on both sides lower stomach.
Avatar n tn I also had to have my gallbladder removed in May of 2009 because it was diseased but it had no stones.
Avatar f tn This time it's been 4 days. He still has a sharp pain in his gallbladder. I'm assuming he's had stones before but they've always passed but maybe this ones bigger? I don't know what else it could be or if it is a gall stone what we should do about it.
Avatar f tn Look to ne pain meds as some can cause kidney stones...etc...not sure that is ur issue since they feel it is ur GB, but could be Gall stones too....also look to family history....one medical issue does seem to trigger others.
Avatar n tn You could ask your doc if you're a candidate for a medication such as Actigal, but it may or may not work to dissolve the stones. There is a procedure in which the stones can be 'blasted' much as they do kidney stones, but it isn't in use much since docs feels it's easier to remove the gallbladder. Passing a stone can cause a heck of a lot of problems. Keep in mind that even if you get the stones you currently have reduced and 'gone' in some manner you may still produce others.
Avatar n tn This message is to majic Have your doctor speak to you about the possibilty of kidney stones. I was just diagnosed w/kidney stones and have been dealing with the pain on and off for 10 years. It really is hard to get some doctors to actually listen, take you seriously and put the ENTIRE picture into perspective.
Avatar n tn I'm 26 years old, female. Family history of gallbladder disease without stones includes father, both grandmothers. GI prescribes reglan, prilosec - no relief. GI then sends me to a surgeon for laparoscopic cholocystectomy with a liver biopsy. Surgeon agrees and schedules. Insurance stops surgery, says they won't pay if no stones or significant physical disfunction are found at time of surgery. Have gotten third opinion that says to do cholocystectomy. Should I risk the surgery?
Avatar n tn They found the polyp in my gallbladder after an ultrasound was done to check for kidney stones because I had been suffering from abdominal and backpains, nausea, dizziness and shortness of breath. the first time I had these symptoms were in January this year (2008) and came back again, except more suddenly this time, around July this year. The pain has lessened considerably, but I still do get occasional back and abdominal pain on my right side from time to time.
Avatar m tn bu tthe next attack out it comes ... the pain is beyond words .. I also have passed kidney stones and for me the GB is worse of the two evils so far ..
Avatar f tn I have actual gallbladder stones but quiet for 2 yrs and that is how they better stay. I have numerous small stones in my kidney but most have cleared the past 2yrs ... the largest only 4mm. I am feeling decent for first time in years but I can relate to your pain.
