Common Questions and Answers about Kidney stones groin pain

Avatar f tn my husband has pain in his groin area. We have been to urgent care, the ER and his regular doctor, not one of them can tell us what's wrong. They say there is no detectable hernia, not kidney stones or bladder stones. He can't walk or move without a whole lot of pain. The ER gave him oxycodone and it isn't even touching the pain. My husband has a very high tolerance for pain and I'm scared he may have over looked a symptom because he doesn't notice it.
Avatar m tn tt had any pain like that since, however, I am urinating blood about once a week and have pain in my right side groin area often after work late in the evening. Is this due to kidney stones? and will having sex irrate the kidney stones and cause the blood and small blood clots in my urine and pain in my groin.
Avatar m tn All through the next two weeks i had constant pain in my left groin area but also had bursts of travelling pain from my kidney to my groin. Passed two smaller stones and several fragments. pain was increasing in my groin and started having nausea. Seen doctor on August 5, he was surprised to see my collection of stones and fragments and sent them off for analysis. The +4mm stone is stuck at the entry to my bladder.
Avatar n tn Hi, It does seem to me like you are having stones in the kidney. The symptom of pain you have described is very typical of it trying to be expelled from the body. Symptoms of kidney stones include colicky pain: "loin to groin". Often described as "the worst pain ever experienced." Other symptoms could be blood in the urine, due to minor damage to inside wall of kidney, ureter and/or urethra. Pyuria: pus in the urine. Dysuria: burning on urination when passing stones.
Avatar n tn Hi, Renal calculi can vary in size from as small as grains of sand to as large as a golf ball. Kidney stones typically leave the body by passage in the urine stream, and many stones are formed and passed without causing symptoms. If stones grow to sufficient size before passage—on the order of at least 2-3 millimeters—they can cause obstruction of the ureter.
997798 tn?1250089433 Hi. I have had stones for over 30 years and only over the past 5 years had the symptoms you describe. Is the stone exiting the right kidney? <<<<"along with the pain I now have on my right side" = FLANK PAIN. Please google it and see if it matches up to the pain on the side. Is this your first stone? You need to do 24 hour urines and have the stone analyized, VERY important. DRINK DRINK DRINK ALL THE WATER YOU POSSIBLY CAN FORCE IT.
Avatar m tn I remember that she pulled my penis to right which caused a sharp pain in the left groin area. That pain never passed away. I went to 2 urologists and they couldnt find anything after physical examination. I also checked for kidney stones with tomography. Finally i checked it to a dermatologist and she prescribed me some hyrocortisone creams due to redness in my scrotum but again no luck. That redness was also there before. What should i do? Any advice from you is appreciated.

Avatar m tn Medullary Sponge Kidney Disease. I have about 16 stones from 1-2 cm in my right kidney. Have never passed any stones. I have had HIDA Scan, Ultrasound, enoscopy, colonoscopy, CT scans with and without contrast and lots of labs. I am in so much pain daily with right quad pain in front and the pain radiates to the right flank. Sometimes down my right leg and groin area. Doctors have given up and just prescribe me Delodid and viccodin. I work for a doctor and i cant function on those medications.
Avatar m tn m figuring that kidney stones take a while to form and that, if I have kidney stones and possibly an infection, it's likely that I had the kidney stones first and they contributed to the infection, rather that having an infection first that contributed to the kidney stones (sorry if this sounds confusing).
Avatar f tn i have groin pain, addo pain and pain in my back all on left side i also suffer from severe case of bile acid malabsorption, doctors think kidney stones awaiting ultra sound. im in agony.
Avatar m tn Kidney stones less than 5 millimeters in size almost always pass on their own while stones larger than 6 millimeters may not pass on their own. The pain from passing a kidney stone is typically sharp and cramping. It may begin in the back and side where the kidneys are located. As the stone moves down the ureter the location of the pain may sometimes change. It is fairly common for persons to feel pain in the groin and testes. Nausea, vomiting, and sweating chills are also common.
Avatar n tn Hello, These can be the symptoms of kidney stones or nephrolithiasis. Kidney stones have pain in loin. Kidney stones are usually associated with decreased frequency of urination. You should go for ultrasound abdomen. Please consult a surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar m tn In cases of hernia, a prominent bulge along with testicular pain is there and in cases of kidney or ureteric stones, pain during micturition may also be there. In your case, it can be due to excessive bicycle riding or kidney or ureteric stones. Lab investigations like complete blood examination, urine examination, ultrasound lower abdomen and sometimes a urethral swab will help in diagnosis. Treatment will be started thereafter. My advise would be to consult a urologist.
Avatar m tn 1-10 the pain is like a 4 or 5. Idk if is the infection or if I have kidney stones. Im very confused.
Avatar m tn But whenever i stand in shower n put hot water on the exact spot where the pain is, the pain goes. I dont know whether it was a kidney stone pain or back pain. I have noticed that whenever i go to toilet for urinate, ,there some redness in my urine. Now if i eat something fried or heavy meal, then my urine becomes reddish like there is some blood in urine.
Avatar f tn Kidney stone pain is often associated with low back pain and abdominal pain. Kidney stones, especially those in the left kidney, can also cause significant amounts of nausea and even vomiting. As the stone moves further down the ureter toward the bladder, the pain often radiates in the groin and genital areas. In men, the pain may radiate to the scrotum. In women, the pain may radiate to the labia or even the vagina.
554628 tn?1362777919 Hi, nausea, headache and kidney pain can be related with nephropathy (kidney disorder), urine test and blood urea and creatinine are usually done for diagnosis. Kidney stones do cause similar kind of symptoms; ultrasound is quite diagnostic for stones.
Avatar f tn I have had pain for 4 weeks now. Originally diagnosed as kidney stones. I was put on antibiotics for a week on day 4 and booked in for an ultra sound. I was also given diclofenac to help with the pain. Avo upper data later the pain did not get better. I went back to the doctors and they weren't sure it was a kidney stone. Occasionally pain worsened on some days. Was prescribed codeine for when I needed it. I continued having pain and was signed off work. I only had fever on day 2.
Avatar m tn Your symptoms sound like the ones I had a few years ago - at which time I swore I had some type of UTI. I thought UTI because not only was the pain in my groin, but the pain would travel to the head of my penis when stabbing and throbbing, and even when I would urinate. This went on for several months - dr would give antibiotics, it would get better, come back, more antibiotics, get better, come back.... Finally, I thought I was having an apendicitis attack and went to the emergency room.
Avatar m tn They said it was either kidney or bladder stones(second most common kind). Meanwhile i starred to have pain in the lymph nodes in the groin region, some testicular pain, and minor nausea and light headiness off and on. I have an appy with a P.A at a urology clinic tuesday. I have not past any stones since wed. and they pain while urinating has gotten better, but I am still have all the other symptoms. I was wondering if anyone would have an idea of what this could be.
Avatar m tn He should get an exam from his regular MD or a urologist, or both. Kidney stones should be ruled out (if the medication he was given to break them up and pass them through the urine didn't work, he still has them) and also some kind of torsion. Good luck to him.
Avatar n tn They suspect kidney stones. No stones found. The doctor at hospital emerg says the kidney looks somewhat inflamed in CT as if it may have recently been infected or is newly infected, suggests I tell my doctor that CT reveals the diverticulae in my left abdomen (which she finds curious and worth noting though the pain is in my right side). The ache is such that it is uncomfortable to lay on my stomach, wear a belt or lean over. I went to my doctor who suggested I had diverticulitis.
Avatar f tn at first it was just tender and i had blood in my urine and was told it was kidney stones and had a xray but no stones found. full bloods and internal swabs all normal.I had last had an utlra sound of my uterus and kidneys when my youngest was 4months old, that was fine. gradually the pain had progressed to my lower back and right side of my back.. been to my doctors so many times. one doctor said it was my sacroiliac joint. Since then ive had 2 uti's.
Avatar f tn One cause of lower abdominal pain that radiates down to the groin and leg are kidney stones in the ureter or some other disorder that causes spasms in the ureter. Certain liver disorders (hepatitis) are associated with ureteral stones.
6708370 tn?1471490210 Could it be a groin pain? I once had a pulled groin muscle and thought I had a UTI.
