Avatar n tn The size, configuration, and location affect the spontaneous passage of these stones. However, these may recur. There are different of types of kidney stones and calcium oxalate is the most common stone that forms. To prevent them from forming regularly, drink plenty of water and have a proper diet. Avatar m tn Hello, Since the kindey stone is 7 mm, so the symptoms seem unrelated to the kidney stones. Since you are having pedal or leg edema, hence your cardiac, liver and kidney functions need to be assessed for which I suggest you to consult a physician immediately. Abdominal causes like irritable bowel syndrome can also cause such symptoms. Common symptoms include abdominal cramping or pain, bloating and gassiness, and altered bowel habits(alternate constipation and loose stools).
Avatar f tn How unusual is it for the stones to be in this meaty part of my kidney and since they are still in my kidney aren’t they just going to continue to grow larger? Are these stones causing damage to my kidneys? They don’t seem to be causing any blockages based on the ultrasounds that have been done, but I still have had frequent flank pain and blood visible in my urine prior to the surgery. Is there any hope that I will be able to be stone free and prevent more stones?
Avatar f tn Pain and discomfort on the lower left side of abdomen can be due to several causes such as Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, adhesions, polycystic ovary in females, IBS, constipation, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle. Since you do not have a lump or a tender hot spot, in all probability it is not a muscle. It could also be a periumbilical hernia that has got trapped resulting in small bowel obstruction or mesenteric ischemia.

Avatar f tn One cause of lower abdominal pain that radiates down to the groin and leg are kidney stones in the ureter or some other disorder that causes spasms in the ureter. Certain liver disorders (hepatitis) are associated with ureteral stones.

Avatar m tn I was experiencing severe aches in my lower back and underneath my ribcage. We never found out the cause of the pain but we were able to rule out kidney stones, they also ran contrast with the MRI and could detect nothing. It was an expensive bill that I can't afford again so seeing a Dr is kind of on the back burner. I'm hoping that my symptoms will improve or that I could get some helpful advice. Of course if all else fails its off to the Dr, I go...

Avatar f tn I had severe pain in my right side, was constipated, and nauseas. This particular time they found kidney stones, which passed. (I had an Xray, an ultrasound, and xray with dye). In July of 2007 I had another severe attack and was hospitalized with an infection for a week. It hurt so much that I could barely talk. They found another kidney stone and I was scheduled to have it removed in September. I had several more infections/ attacks between July and Sept.
1024147 tn?1251780149 Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, constipation, ovary involvement in women, and mesentry (attached to the intestines) involvement can all cause lower right abdomen pain. Right upper abdominal pain can be due to cholecystitis (inflammation of gall bladder), stones in gall bladder, or due to duodenal ulcer. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn Honestly you're MUCH more likely to get a bacterial infection from the natural bacteria on his hand than you are to get pregnant. Also stress can cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headaches, fatigue, appetite change, late period, bloating, etc. So can quite a few other things so it's very difficult to tell if you're pregnant based on symptoms alone. 3 weeks after this happened or if your period is late, take a home pregnancy test.
Avatar n tn ll be you feel pretty crummy too, eh? -Been there, done that, read the book. Any kidney stones yet? Constipation? Ache all over? Headaches? Heartburn? Rapid heart beats?
Avatar f tn Have you had your kidneys checked for kidney stones? Kidney stones are very painful and when they move out of the kidney and into the uretra it can cause the colon to shut down and let the barfing begin and because it shuts the colon down you can get constipation that is awful. Sometimes when you throw up and have nausea it isn't about the digestive tract so much but maybe another organ not being able to function properly. Yes, this did happen to me for almost 8 months.

Avatar n tn Causes of blood in urine other than the two causes that have been ruled out include kidney infections, kidney disease, trauma, bladder stones, Interstitial cystitis, tumors, etc. In men prostatitis can present with all the symptoms described above. Additional investigations required include blood tests to check for kidney function and a cystoscopy to check for injury to the bladder lining.
