Common Questions and Answers about Kidney stones causes and symptoms

kidney-stones

Avatar f tn How unusual is it for the stones to be in this meaty part of my kidney and since they are still in my kidney aren’t they just going to continue to grow larger? Are these stones causing damage to my kidneys? They don’t seem to be causing any blockages based on the ultrasounds that have been done, but I still have had frequent flank pain and blood visible in my urine prior to the surgery. Is there any hope that I will be able to be stone free and prevent more stones?
18533109 tn?1465640552 Get It but ,Usually, an imaging test and an analysis of urine are done to diagnose stones. Tiny stones may cause no symptoms, but larger stones can cause pain in the area between the ribs and hips in the back. Sometimes stone formation can be prevented by changing the diet or increasing fluid intake.
Avatar n tn DO NOT LET A DOCTOR TELL YOU TO WAIT AND SEE!!! WAITING CAUSES OSTEOPEROSIS AND A HOST OF OTHER ISSUES! Do not just take vitamin D or calcium meds. More calcium actually makes the stones, etc worse. It doesn't matter how much calcium you take, the bad parathyroid will just suck it out of the bones and dump it back into the blood. Take care of it now, and if you want the BEST doctor, go to Dr. Norman in Tampa. The procedure is less than 20 minutes.
Avatar n tn I am having very frequent urinations with pelvic pain, bloating and traces of blood in my urine. Culture and Urinary tests were negative for bacteria and xray show no sign of kidney stones. What could be wrong?
Avatar m tn Hello, Since the kindey stone is 7 mm, so the symptoms seem unrelated to the kidney stones. Since you are having pedal or leg edema, hence your cardiac, liver and kidney functions need to be assessed for which I suggest you to consult a physician immediately. Abdominal causes like irritable bowel syndrome can also cause such symptoms. Common symptoms include abdominal cramping or pain, bloating and gassiness, and altered bowel habits(alternate constipation and loose stools).
231903 tn?1281482584 In the past, i have had three kidney stones, this does not feel like one though? I do have mild endometriosis. I have had a large ovarian cyst before, as well as an ovary infection. I also suffer from anxiety and panic disorder as well as sleep paralysis. Back in February i had temperature spike of 104. with alot of rectal bleeding (doctors never determined the cause) and it was a one time thing. Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I had a kidney stone and went to the hospital, and was told it was 2 mm, and about to pass into my bladder where it wouldn't hurt anymore. A few days later went to a different hospital they said it was 5mm and stuck in my ureter. I Had to have it surgically removed. I did not have any burning during urinating with my kidney stone.
Avatar f tn m being treated for the kidney, the rest has went on the back burner. My doc says my stones are from dehydration and I know diabetes could be a culprit but as far as I know eye problems with diabetes are different than mine. I am wondering what could be causing all this? It is going to be a couple weeks before I see my Doctor and I'm so tired of this misery. Any help is appreciated. Also I apologize for the typing, I'm posting from a device other than a PC.
Avatar m tn I have had 3 bouts with kidney stones in the past. Each time the symptoms are different. First time was the excruciating consistent pain for about 5 hours resulting in a stone being passed. Second time was off and on pain, but pain was mild in comparison to the first, resulting in a stone being passed days later which looked completely different then the last one.
Avatar m tn There were no blood tests done, only a urinalysis which came back negative. The doctor banged each side of my back lightly and I had no pain, I assume he was checking for kidney stones. Both doctors I went to see said my epididymis was a bit tender on each testicle, and that I might have had epididymitis. How this could be makes no sense to me. Is it possible to get the tiredness/feverishness, lower back pain near my spine and around, and epididymital pain from random viral causes?
Avatar n tn The size, configuration, and location affect the spontaneous passage of these stones. However, these may recur. There are different of types of kidney stones and calcium oxalate is the most common stone that forms. To prevent them from forming regularly, drink plenty of water and have a proper diet. Take care and best regards.
231903 tn?1281482584 5 Anyone that may know what causes these symptoms, or if it is the Kidney stones causing such pain and itching in the area, please let me know. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Seven days ago, I had severe pain in my right kidney and vomiting. It stopped after 2 hours, but I woke up with severe pressure and pain in my pubic bone. That has changed in the last 4 days, so now I have severe pain and pressure in my vaginal like I have the worst yeast infection in history. It hurts more when I stand because it's like gravity worsens the pressure. I'm sitting on a heating pad now.
Avatar f tn The major thing is that even thou it is mostly cleared up I am still feeling the same pressure and burning that has been there throughout the entire infection! Thanks guys. I'll read your post thru my tears of sadness for losing my WONDERFUL Dr. Allen...
Avatar f tn s usually no mistaking the symptoms — kidney stones, especially, can cause excruciating pain. Bladder or kidney stones can also cause both gross and microscopic bleeding. Enlarged prostate. The prostate gland — located just below the bladder and surrounding the top part of the urethra — often begins growing as men approach middle age. When the gland enlarges, it compresses the urethra, partially blocking urine flow.
Avatar f tn Hello there, Sore tummy, headaches and dizziness can be due to many causes like anxiety, gastritis, food intolerance, stress etc.Kidney stones will cause symptoms like burning urination, haematuria, pain in flanks and there may also be fever at times. It is suggested to take light food .Avoid fried spicy foods. Drink plenty of water and avoid stress. If the symptoms are severe and persistent a clinical examination may be necessary. Treatment will depend on the underlying cause. Keep me posted.
Avatar n tn I had a stone that blocked my kidney and even after blasting would not come out without being scooped out. This was in my left kidney. Kidneys were both checked out thoroughly for damage and other stones - neither of which was found. Questions are...Since it has been two months and I haven't passed any stones are they likely to just stay put? If the larger one gets stuck after I have my surgery will they be able to go in and get it out without cutting me or screwing up the TVT?
Avatar f tn A few days ago, I started having a nagging right side pain and by the next day it was so intense I ended up in the ER. They did bloodwork, uralyisis, ultrasound of my gallbladder and ct scan to check for kidney stones. Everything came back normal and now I'm very frustrated. They sent me home with painkillers and told me it could possibly be my gallbladder, to follow up and get a HIDA scan. Now a couple days later, my side doesn't hurt as bad but is sore.
82861 tn?1333453911 If there is no infection than your dog has kidney damage or kidney failure, and you will have to treat agressively to save the kidneys by using Sub Q fluid therapy, phosphate binders if the phosphate is also elevated, kidney saving herbs such as Rehmannia 8 and more. Please write back once you have additional test results. Thanks.
Avatar f tn It took a while but the pain I was having was finally diagnosed as a kidney stone and I have another symptomatic one in the other kidney. But I wonder if kidney stones cause anemia because I suddenly became anemic just over a year ago and we have not been able to find a cause. Although I had occult blood in my urine due to the stone, it was not a lot. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this too or if anyone might know if stones can cause anemia?
Avatar f tn ve heard they are. I get kidney-stones chronically, and from time to time, a get one that causes intermittent (colicky) pain that's quite bearable. And another thing, not all kidney-stones cause hematuria (blood in the urine). If your doctor thinks that all stones cause blood in the urine, then I'd say that you need to get yourself another doctor that know what the hell their talking about, because she obviously doesn't.
