Avatar n tn I may not know much about kidney stones, but I've had multiple bladder infections and risked kidney stones before when I was 18. One thing I can say, I'm not going to be 100% positive on it, but if your son drank cranberry juice (lots of it) check into the effects of the oxalates(in cranberries) and the calcium(in your urine) building up to possibly form kidney stones, the last question on the linked page will be helpful if that's the case. http://www.uti-cleanse.com/faqs.
Avatar f tn The last surgery I had was in 2006. I also have had/have kidney stones in my left kidney, I passed a 13mm one in June 2006. In the past year I have not had any reoccuring problems with my obstuction and stones, although I still have 6mm stone in my left kidney. This past week, I did however urinate large amount of blood, my urine was cola colored. With my history I decided to go to the emergency room cause I was very concerned.
280736 tn?1294198374 Last summer, I had blood in my urine and the dr sent me to have ultrasounds, c scans all normal, few small kidney stones. I started having extreme pain and it ended up being shingles awful pain. Long story short.. I keep seeing blood in my urine more and more frequently. I have no pain, could this blood in urine have anything to do with the hep C? Thank you all.

1165078 tn?1338655745 I've been on Keppra for over 3 yrs now, other than gain weight as soon as I was put on the drug, I've had numerous UTI's and kidney infec. as well as Kidney stones, I reduced my dosage by half (1000mg/day down to 500mg/day) over a period of 4 months last yr, still szr free, and blood levels come back with in therapeutic range (something my Neuro can't quite explain yet isn't making me go back up to the 1000mg/day). But I'm having more kidney issues.. am I alone on this?
Avatar f tn Most often it is related to urinary tract problems like kidney stones, inflammation of urinary tract, renal vein thrombosis, certain kidney tumors and polycystic kidney disease, blood coagulation disorders and anticoagulants. Diagnostic tests that may be performed include Urinalysis, Urine culture, X-rays of the kidneys, Cystoscopy, IVP, Abdominal ultrasound and CT scan of the abdomen. The treatment will depend on the cause of the blood in the urine.
1012861 tn?1250949418 I posted a question before about kidney stones that I have. I have 2 stones in my left kidney one 5mm and the other 2mm. I haven't had any problems with them in about a month and then last night out of no where I start having left sided flank pain and passing a lot of blood in my urine. I ended up going to the hospital for the pain. They did another CT scan and told me that the stones had not moved at all from the last CT. They gave me a shot of Torodol and sent me home.
Avatar m tn m VERY sorry that you are having so many problems with your kidney stones. I imagine that they would be VERY painful!!! Here on MH - Med Help - we have a Forum that is devoted entirely to Kidney Disease and Disorders. I think that they might be able to give you more complete answers when it comes to the diet you should be following. I think if you will re-post over there you will be able to get even MORE help.
Avatar n tn I'm a nineteen year old girl. A few days ago, I started experiencing over-all mild, lower back pain. I have back problems, so I just got out the heating pad and didn't pay much attention. But the pain didn't go away and it's been getting worse. It had become concentrated in my lower back to the right side of my spinal cord, right over my hip. Sometimes it does hurt in the right side of my abdomen and in the middle of my back, too. I'm 99% sure it's my kidney.
Avatar f tn Hi and WELCOME to our Kidney Stone Community. I'm not a doctor, but do have too much experience with kidney stones. For me, I'd get pings and pangs in my kidney as well as microhematuria (blood you cannot see by eye) in my urine when I have stones. I've also had the flank pain you describe .. for me it's been in the lower back. I hope with lots of water your stones move out for you uneveventfully. Please keep in touch. From what I've read stones <5.
Avatar n tn They now need me to do blood tests to check the phosphate levels in my blood. My GP said it is necessary, but not urgent. My disomfort is still bad. I am not diabetic, and have had no sugery done before.
Avatar n tn kidney stones are most often caused by to much calcuim in your kidneys and if their not pasted or removed they many something cause pain...it best to get the proper test done to see what your choices are.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with kidney stones almost 3 years ago but I did not get them removed as my Dr told me they could not kill me or cause any life threatening diseases, but recentley I have noticed a little bit of stomach discomfort, I would like to say pain but it doesnt hurt , it kind of feels like something is there like gas, and my stomach gurgles a little bit and once in a while I will feel a little bit of a slight pinching pain in different spots over my belly , it feels like its through the b
Avatar f tn I passed kidney stones when I was put on blood thinners years ago. You need to drink tons of water to ease their passing. A heating pad helps with pain too. Lynn is right, an er won't be able to help you. Distilled water helps a lot, I was told to avoid calcium fortified stuff, as that can be a contributing factor for stones.
Avatar f tn Hi this is my second time having kidney stones I have the pain on my side/back I have to pee alot feel a bit nauseous but this time I'm seeing blood in my urine should I be worried last time I didn't see it but I went to the hospital and they said I did have blood in my urine I don't see it every time I pee tho
192055 tn?1263555537 I posted this in the kidney section since I have been dealing with 'kidney stones' for 7 months now. Anyone else with kidney stones ever heard of this? History- 21 y/o, non smoker, occasional drinker. Been to the doctor about 3-4 times the past few months for 'kidney stones'. They still arent sure whats wrong- horrible kidney pain and blood in my urine... but normal CT scan. Going to a urologist on the 20th. 2 weeks ago my husband rushed me to the hospital...
192055 tn?1263555537 My doctors tell me that i should not be having pain when the stones are still in the kidney. I also have blood in my urine and have had two clear CTs ... I saw a nephrologist today and he is wanting to do a 24 hour urine sample to figure out why i have blood in my urine. I will keep you posted on what happens with me.. but it is good to hear that someone else is having the same problem i am beginning to feel crazy haha!
1012861 tn?1250949418 I have 2 stones that are just sitting in my kidney not really moving. I had a cystoscopy today which showed nothing significant. Can the stones that are just sitting in the kidney cause all this blood and pain or could it be something else?
Avatar f tn There are other types as well ( cystine, struvite , uric) Kidney stones may hold a genetic predisposition. In your case, the presence of kidney formers in the family may explain the onset of kidney stones at an earlier age. It is best to open lines of communication with your physicians. At this point, you may discuss on whether a referral to a pain management specialist may help.Continue following physician's advice regarding diet, fluid intake and exercise.
