540521 tn?1221703306 The stones seem to bother me the most when i am standing and being active, Can kidney stones lead to kidney Failure? How much worse can this get? I don't know what else to do , I am at a loss, any help would be Greatly Appreciated. Thank You..
Avatar n tn I may not know much about kidney stones, but I've had multiple bladder infections and risked kidney stones before when I was 18. One thing I can say, I'm not going to be 100% positive on it, but if your son drank cranberry juice (lots of it) check into the effects of the oxalates(in cranberries) and the calcium(in your urine) building up to possibly form kidney stones, the last question on the linked page will be helpful if that's the case. http://www.uti-cleanse.com/faqs.
Avatar f tn This is one of the most difficult things I've ever had to deal with. My beloved Gypsy is dying of kidney failure. Gypsy is a Jack Russell Terrier and she turned 18...yes 18...on Christmas Day. It's just so hard to know when it is "time." I prayed and prayed that she would give us one final parting gift and die on her own in her sleep...but she is SUCH a fighter and refused to surrender to this thing.
1832268 tn?1326819610 On April 7, 2014 he went into severe kidney failure. He was hospitalized and at the time of the blood work his BUN was 157 and I believe his Creatine was 2.4 He was hospitalized for three days, flushed out all the toxins, and had IV’s. Since then he has been on the RS recovery kidney diet, and now is on the KD diet and drinks plenty of water. He has gained weight and is pretty active. Just had blood work done and his BUN is 23 and Creatine is 1.1 The vet said all is normal.
1916673 tn?1420236870 Higher than normal potassium is not very unusual in kidney disease, but it is important to discount other potential causes - including kidney or urinary tract stones. An ultra-sound and white blood cell (WBC) count will help identify if stones are a problem. Phosphorus is also too high. Dogs acquire phosphorus directly from food, and normally (in healthy dogs) any excess is excreted through the kidneys.
633143 tn?1262137135 If so, and if they only come back as normal because it was over 60, may I recommend you try to get the exact figure, because there are different normals for different age groups, and just because you are not in kidney failure does not mean that your kidney function is uncompromised. You also might see if they will run a 24 hour urine protein test to see if your protein number is high.
Avatar n tn but the doctors said it shouldn't be a problem cause it wasn't close to coming out. Anyone else have kidney stones present?
Avatar n tn For the past several years I have noticed that after eating food (which ranges from just a cup of milk to a full meal) that my heart rate and blood pressure increases significantly about 30 minutes after eating, and it lasts for about one and 1/2 hours to two hours. This occurs about 50% of the time after eating. My heart rate goes from ~75 bpm up to 140 bmp (max todate), and the blood pressure goes from 130/80 up to 180/102 (max to date).
Avatar n tn I have never had a hep fit and I have never been in the risk groups such as needles, blood transfusion etc. It's said to potentially be spread through sexual intercourse but none of my long term lovers have had it. I had a pcr scan done in '96 and the virus was not detected. So the Dr.thinks it could be either 1) A urinary tract infection 2) Kidney stones 3) Skeletal interference 4) Herpes simplex 1 "going crazy" and attacking the lower portions of my body or 5) A hernia.
Avatar n tn There I got check for everyhting. They took out my blood, check my urine with blood, got a ultrasonic to check for stones, and got a physical check on my penis. They had to stick in a small tube into my penis so i can pee and let me tell you that was the worst exprience i have every had in my life. Well i pee a lil bit and went to the bathroom. There i was still clot but the though of having something stuck into my penis again made me pee.
Avatar n tn Simple question here, has anyone ever had a negative blood test and negative urine test and went on with their daily routine and a month or so later found out you were in fact pregnant while having ultrasound done. If this has happened to anyone or perhaps someone you know, please respond, I'd appreciate the information. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Before that can be effective it must be determined what is causing the kidney stones to form and what kinds of stones are they? Kidney stones are layers of minerals.. kind of like a mini rock formation... and composition of them can change over time. Dr. Leslie also lists the top kidney stone urologists in the US and their contact information. Most are at public univ a few are in private practice. A few may be at private univ too. Dr.
Avatar m tn I raised their doses back up to the more massive doses and added magnesium and B-6 to their program and no more kidney stones. I think they developed the kidney stones because they were not taking enough vitamin C." Why did Linus Pauling die from cancer if he took all that vitamin C? Linus Pauling, PhD, megadose vitamin C advocate, died in 1994 from prostate cancer. Mayo Clinic cancer researcher Charles G. Moertel, M.D.
Avatar n tn Helen ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Helen, Blood in an adequately collected urine sample is abnormal. Blood in the urine, i.e. hematuria, may be due to medical disease or surgical disease. One can determine whether the hematuria has a medical cause by looking at the shape of the red blood cells under a microscope.
1886992 tn?1320912487 I had coffee colored urine from blood being in it and have constant pain, was treated for a UTI to be safe, kidney stones being in there somewhere are still a possibility. After much reading about this condition I found that anyone with the disease should only be consuming Calcium through their diet and NOT take it directly in the form of vitamins, etc. there are a number of other things I was told to avoid as they may encourage stones to form, see http://kidney.niddk.nih.
509877 tn?1315365294 She had kidney stones...lots of them. Back then, they opened you up surgically to remove kidney stones. She had multiple operations to remove the stones. Eventually, they removed all of her parathyroid glands except one...they regulate the calcium in your body. They put the last parathyroid gland in her forearm, so they could get to it easier surgically in case her calcium rose again. In time it disappeared, but she keep having high calcium levels and kidney stones.
1344197 tn?1392822771 Excessive vitamin D can damage the kidneys and heart, and too much calcium from supplements has been linked to kidney stones, the report says. Vitamin D has been a hot topic in recent years because research has linked lower levels of the nutrient to certain cancers, diabetes, and bone and immune system problems. The panel concluded that more scientific research is needed to investigate the potential health benefits of larger amounts of vitamin D.
Avatar m tn On 2 March got CT scan with iodine dye to check for kidney stones. A few days later I got .1mm sized bumps on sides of feet and palms that went away in a few days. A week after they disappeared my hands and feet started to peel. I am hoping the peeling/bumps were a result of the iodine dye and not syphilis. I never got any lesions and no blisters on palms and feet. I never saw a chancre and was checking. What is the possibility I have syphilis?
Avatar f tn no kidney/bladder stones. ct scan good. Urine contained blood and redblood cells, but again no kidney/bladder stones, and no stones in the ducts (gallbladder which was removed) I cannot afford to have colonoscopy or endoscopy as recommended. I am 28 years old. my husband has become used to all of this and says God will heal you u do not need to go to a doc, I am frustrated and a little concerned with the vomiting. I am not pregnant.
242516 tn?1368227505 Join me to learn about the flu vaccine, antivirals, antibiotics, and alternative preventative measures such as humidifiers, saline drops and sprays, herbal supplements, and honey and find out whether these treatments are suitable for children, the elderly and other high-risk groups. This has been an unusual year in that the flu has been picking up in the last few weeks, and will last into early summer. The symptoms of influenza include cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, and fever.
Avatar n tn I am not sure why I keep getting bladder infections the first time it was due to poor sex habits (vaginal to anal) this resulted in an infection that went all the way to my Kidney.
Avatar n tn Right Nodule 2cm cystic nodule Negative for cytologic evidence of malignancy Few groups of follicular cells Blood and hemosiderin-laden microphages seeing something like "rare mildly atypical follicular and hurthle cells" frightens me a bit. I tried looking it up online and came back with all sorts of unsettling information about hurthle cells, though I did find something that said they can be benign.
Avatar n tn Other complications associated with Crohn's disease include arthritis, skin problems, inflammation in the eyes or mouth, kidney stones, gallstones, or other diseases of the liver and biliary system. Some of these problems resolve during treatment for disease in the digestive system, but some must be treated separately.
585414 tn?1288944902 As this is an older muscle relexant (the newer ones having been tried) the risk is worse. What is the responsible thing to do? Get a blood test every month as directed. And don't take more than I need. Well as this is controlling life threatening dystonic and dysphagic spasms the "need" is there but the directions on the prescription vial state "up to 4 times a day". I will increase it under their guidance. And no more than that amount.
Avatar m tn Hi ED34, thank you so much for trying to help me, I apoligize if anything I say below is confusing or lacks details so please let me know if you want clarifications or more information. Again, thanks a lot. "Doesn't sound heart related" Good to hear that from someone I haven't grown great mistrust in lol, but what do you think the pain in left side of chest is if not my heart? I also felt sharp pains there when pulling a knob in shower.
147426 tn?1317269232 Renal stones. Could any of your episodes of severe abdominal pain have been kidney stones, I wonder? High Calcium can cause episodes of intestinal paralysis (also called intestinal ileus) which would show up as vomiting and pain. There is also often chronic fatigue. Also elevated calcium causes muscle weakness which is described as being weakness of the proximal muscle groups (the thighs & hips and the upper arms). But usually the legs are affected more than the arms.
Avatar f tn And what's to be made of the claim that being too acidic can cause osteoporosis, kidney stones, and a number of other undesirable health challenges? As usual, the answers to such questions about human health can be found in understanding basic principles of human physiology. So let's take a look at the fundamentals of pH and how your body regulates the acid-alkaline balance of its fluids on a moment-to-moment basis. pH is a measure of how acidic or alkaline a liquid is.
1577584 tn?1296188681 If your peeing blood you probably have a bladder or kidney infection. I know that's extremely painful plus I had kidney stones with it. I ended up in the hospital on morphine and IV antibiotics when I did that. Don't play around peeing blood, goto the emergency room!
