Avatar f tn I wonder if anybody else has experienced diarrhea with kidney stones? I have had upwards of 40 kidney stones in the past four years but somehow still have no answers as to why my body is producing these or how to relieve them. And i never fail to turn up new symptoms or troubles. I have been having dark urine and a lot of kidney pain lately and I'm sure I have another stone working its way out of my kidney...
488192 tn?1208990289 Several years ago, I was treated for colitis and IBS, weight loss and seizures. How often does colitis rare its ugly head and does thickening of the colon result in colitis? A vetran nurse suggested that I follow up with the doctor's instructions and referral because of the dangers. Should I be concerned at this point?
483733 tn?1326798446 I just find it frustrating. There is a big difference between someone with Crohn's or Colitis and GERD. Thanks for the info on the Crohn's community but I am an ulcerative colitis survivor and my son is now having active disease and really need support in that area. It would be helpful if we could even divide the forum between intestinal issues and non-instestinal.

10948614 tn?1414173719 I have collageous colitis and, like all colitis, it is autoimmune in nature. I would write down other symptoms such as do you have joint pain, foggy brain moments, skin rashes or psoriasis? Anything! If you do end up with these, go see a rheumatologist. They will perform more labs to find out if there is another autoimmune disease you aren't diagnosed with because when you have one, you have others. Trust me.

Avatar n tn I would NOT recommend you start smoking again as there are many other diseases and cancers caused by smoking. I also had ulcerative colitis, and I never smoked. You can read more about it in my blog.
Avatar f tn The only abnormality was microscopic colitis on one of the colonoscopy biopsies. All other tests and antibodies were negative, SED rate was normal, liver and kidney chemistries normal, C-reactive protein normal, no anemia, CBC normal, etc. Doc wants me to start Asacol but the side effects seem worse than my mild diarrhea. Question is, should I take the anti-inflammatory to try and stop the autoimmune process?
Avatar f tn Inflammatory diseases of the colon which can present as UC include Crohn’s disease, ischemic colitis, radiation colitis, eosinophilic colitis, colorectal cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, and allergic reactions to medications such as mesalamine products, NSAIDs, and antibiotics.
4447476 tn?1399396565 I feel for ya. I'm in the hospital myself for an ulcerative colitis flare, been here since last Thursday and probably won't get out until tomorrow or later. And believe me, I've had several sessions of crying, both tears of joy and fear. It will get better. I'm 17 weeks along at this point.

I've been better for a month or so, been taking Pentasa and more recently started on Prednisolone 40mg. Avatar m tn Hello. I am a 32 year old male in over all good health. for months now I have notice that my nails have a wide pale band on the top half so they are no longer pink unless I apply pressure to the nail. The bottom half of the nail is slightly pink. Is this something i should be concerned about? I talked to my GP at the onset and he said it was nothing, but I am not convinced as it seems to be growing downwards.
Avatar f tn I suffer from ulcerative colitis and now diagnosed with superficial bladder cancer (Ta, low grade). My bladder was perforated during tumor removal (TURBT) resulting in colitis flare up and bowels shutting down after exposure to leakage. Now offered biological therapy (BCG) treatment and worried that the expected stimulated immune response will trigger another colitis "attack". Thank you.
Avatar m tn I have been suffering from chronic ulcerative colitis (UC) over the last twenty years. I’m in control of it and lead almost a normal life. I’m currently on 3 grams of Rafassal (Mesalazine) and 200 mg of Imuran (Azathioprine). My last colonoscopy revealed multiple areas suspicious of low grade dysplasia (LGD) in sigmoid colon and recotoanal junction. There is also doubt they might be high grade dysplasia (HGD). My doctor advised that these LGDs be removed.
Avatar m tn s no known cure for ulcerative colitis, but therapies are available that may dramatically reduce the signs and symptoms of ulcerative colitis and even bring about a long-term remission. Organizations such as the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America have chapters across the country to provide information and access to support groups. You can check with your doctor and join these groups. Regards.
Avatar f tn So, ulcerative colitis can cause that. It's most likely pus if it is yellow. To me this sounds like complications of your IBS or ulcerative colitis. Have you started the medication yet? Is it helping?
