Avatar f tn Okay so I'm 27 weeks and 5 days pg. And I went to the hospital today for my 3rd round of kidney stones, I not only had a friend, but surprisingly, a nurse at the hospital, suggest drinking a SMALL (4-6OZ) glass of red wine in a hot bath to help me pass the stones, I haven't talked to my midwife yet, and yes I plan to, I was just wondering what some of you other mommies think of this? Again no bashing, I'm just curious here...
1243347 tn?1268424070 1) Blood in the urine which begins in the morning looking like cloudy red wine. By the end of the day (and after 4 - 6 liters of water each day) it is just pale pink. 2) I urinate about once each waking hour (none during the night).
Avatar n tn This one involves pus in the kidney and surrounding sack. His right kidney, where all of the stones have been, is down to less than 25% output and may have to be removed. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing this and what the outcome might be?
187666 tn?1331173345 Hi, There are many types of kidney stones and not all may be detected in imaging studies. While the kidneys play an important role in regulating blood pressure, the presence of nonobstructing stones in the urinary tract do not directly cause blood pressure increase. Instead, the pain associated with the stone passage may be responsible for the increased BP. If all other diagnostic tests were normal, the increase may be due to essential hypertension which suggests no definite cause.
Avatar m tn Antioxidants reduce the amount of inflammation in your body, which helps the kidneys function properly. The potassium in cauliflower is known to prevent kidney stones. Kidney stones can lead to kidney infections and eventually chronic kidney disease. Eat cauliflower raw with a hummus dip or steam it with a squeeze of lemon. Cauliflower is also delicious smashed with low fat sour cream and fresh parsley.
Avatar n tn calcium oxalate stones, struvite stones, uric acid stones or cystine stones. Potassium citrate is used for the treatment of stones. Treatment modes include oral medicines, Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithrotripsy (ESWL), uteroscopic stone removal and percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Please discuss these treatment options with your urologist. Also take less calcium and oxalate rich foods and supplements like dairy products, colas, chocolate, peanuts, leafy vegetables, and tea. I hope it helps.
Avatar n tn ve had kidney stones, and surgery to put stints in. And this pain from cellulitis is even more painful than kidney stones. Apparently I'm supposed to lay in bed a lot, and keep my foot elevated. But I can't just lay in bed for several weeks. And it seems odd, but it is more painful to be laying down than to sit in a chair. Also, laying down makes it so sitting back up, and standing, are so painful that I have to spend half an hour gradually going from laying down to standing.
Avatar f tn Hi I'm a 19 yr old female, not an alcoholic but I do drink a fair bit when an opportunity arises. In the past 2 nights ive gone out and drank a fair bit, wine/vodka, and I've woken up in the morning with severe abdominal pain in my right side, almost like menstrual cramps but burning, and a dull ache on the right side of my back. The pain brings me to tears and I need a hot water bottle and two panadols to ease the pain. It's never happened after drinking before, only the two times.
Avatar n tn ve had a couple friends tell me red wine is fine in moderation. One glass on a night. Anyone have any doctor tell them that is ok? I haven't drank any. Just curious...
483733 tn?1326798446 All wines contain sulfites, because yeast naturally produces sulfite compounds during the fermentation process, and without sulfites, wine would spoil and oxidize. White wine has more sulfites than red wine. I feel that alone wine ingestion is not responsible for these swellings.A predisposing pathology has to be there. As you are a perimenopausal female,so the chances of arthritis are more likely. Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep us posted if you want any more information.
Avatar m tn I have had blood in my urine that was wine in color. Lasted for hrs & then went away & would come back again a mth later. No pain was associated w/ it. I went to my urologist & he had me go in for a CT w/ ivp scan. we found kidney stones. I have a long history of stones, yet have never had blood in my urine especially as much as I was passing. The kidney stones eventually did pass (w/in 6mths) w/out any surgery. So I was grateful This could be the same for you.
231903 tn?1281482584 It has been six days now since they diagnosed the 4mm kidney stone, and i still havent passed it, and im still having really bad kidney pain.
Avatar n tn I just wandered if anyone has had kidney stones or bladder stones with NO symptoms, and also whether it is commonplace for people to have crystals in urine - does this necessarily mean stones? Should I be worried that this could signal something worse (like cancer), or would the blood work up have hinted at this? I'm erring on whether to wait patiently for an NHS urologist (could take up to 6 weeks), or whether to investigate this privately, which would mean borrowing money.
Avatar f tn today i woke up with sever pain in the lower side near my back on both sides, my urine is bright red, and while straining for stones( none yet) i found blood clots ( apox 5mm x 3mm) the morphine is not controlling the pain anymore, and im not due to go in for stent removal and lithro again until the 21st, is what im experiencing the passing of a stone or should i go be seen again by the ER ( my uroligist is 2 hrs away and my GP is not im until wed, so that is my only option.
Avatar n tn You could ask your doc if you're a candidate for a medication such as Actigal, but it may or may not work to dissolve the stones. There is a procedure in which the stones can be 'blasted' much as they do kidney stones, but it isn't in use much since docs feels it's easier to remove the gallbladder. Passing a stone can cause a heck of a lot of problems.
18533109 tn?1465640552 hey! .. I just recently got one a big ole 6mm one that they just blasted and yet my back is still red and stone ain't moved anywhere. Anybody here found any good remedies for em?
Avatar f tn had the ct scan yesterday and they found nothing. No kidney stones, appendix looks ok and no ovarian cysts. I feel like I am back to square one! Went straight back to the doctors in the afternoon and she is puzzled. She said she wants to look at the ct scan/analysis herself and to see me again on Monday. She's given me some extra pain killers and told me to take the following. 8x paracetamol, 3x diclofenac, 4-8 codeine a day.
512560 tn?1222560127 ve had bright red urine a couple of years ago [blood and not diet related], and after that, I thought nothing would surprise me, but these little black bits really did surprise and indeed worry me.
Avatar n tn I had a stone that blocked my kidney and even after blasting would not come out without being scooped out. This was in my left kidney. Kidneys were both checked out thoroughly for damage and other stones - neither of which was found. Questions are...Since it has been two months and I haven't passed any stones are they likely to just stay put? If the larger one gets stuck after I have my surgery will they be able to go in and get it out without cutting me or screwing up the TVT?
Avatar f tn I have MSK I was diagnosed about 6 years ago and only after 5-6surgeries and move then 100 kidney stones. I feel for anybody who has this as there are time I honestly consider suicide over the pain and being tired of passin stones and being told that there is not much they can do avoid calcium and protein.. good luck with that one. Since almost everything has both in it. Again my heart goes out to all you guys suffering from this.
Avatar f tn Has anyone else experienced gross hematuria without any other symptoms and been diagnosed with Rhadbo or Kidney Stones?
Avatar f tn Has she had a CT Scan w/o contrast in regard to the stones? What has it shown? I have an uncommon kidney condition called MSK (Medullary Sponge Kidney) along with having had out 1/2 my thryoid bcz of nodules that were atpical but my parathyroids were fine and all tests were A-OK that both my Uro and Endo have run inc. a 24hr urine test. Has your daughter had a 24hr urine test? That is important too.
284738 tn?1283106819 but I talked to my dad and he told me it sounds like kidney stones... because the other day i had a little bright red blood in my urine and my dad said that is from kidney stones moving. When I get these pains I honestly feel like im going to pass out from the pain.. Is there anything to do for these?
168348 tn?1379357075 yipee, I am still undecided on this vote and my Hives have raged all weekend since I ate a curry and drank red wine , the car decided to have an oil leak this morning and then I got a huge bill for the oil leak!
