Avatar n tn So ive been experiencing kidney stones. I had done at 19 weeks passed one now at 27 weeks I have more. They also told me besides the blood in my urine I have too much protein. Not really sure what this means, they are checking for infections but im still waiting on results. I go in for my glucose test and an ultra sound on my kidneys on Thursday. Anyone else experience any of this?
895634 tn?1283989210 Update: Week 27 of 48. UND, sides well-comtroled. Previously seen questionable indeterminate liver lesion on MRI now determined to be NOT HCC due to stability over time and imaging features. Had surprise wake-up callyesterday 5 am...Left renal colic. Anybody aware of an association between treatment and kidney stones? I've had renal colic before, but this is by far the most painful bout. Hepatologist gave green light for Vicodin or Percocet, which are helping.
Avatar m tn you are talking about the pain you are having after you have passed kidney stones, but for me i think that your system has been compromised from the kidney stones taking their course and you need sometime to heal. As for the yellow bowels movements, that could be bile juices from gallbladder or possibly (not sure) from kidney stones passing. let yourself heal for a while and see how you feel, your body has been through something traumatic and needs time to feel better.
Avatar f tn My PCP stated that the tracer did not fully leave my kidney. I have a history of kidney stones and my left ureter has scar tissue due to surgery so I am concerned about that. My PCP is going to refer me to a rheumatologist. I'm using pain killers to deal with the pain on daily basis. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do? Thank you so much!
Avatar f tn I live with kidney stones and have been for years. Does anyone know what is good to eat to help prevent stones? All I can find online are foods that I can't eat.

Avatar f tn So my question is has anyone had the blood in their urine and stomach cramps and had something else other than the kidney stones. Also I like to mention that my kidney function test came back fine. I would appreciate anyone's input.

Avatar m tn Hello, Since the kindey stone is 7 mm, so the symptoms seem unrelated to the kidney stones. Since you are having pedal or leg edema, hence your cardiac, liver and kidney functions need to be assessed for which I suggest you to consult a physician immediately. Abdominal causes like irritable bowel syndrome can also cause such symptoms. Common symptoms include abdominal cramping or pain, bloating and gassiness, and altered bowel habits(alternate constipation and loose stools).
Avatar f tn My most recent CT showed it is no longer stuck in my ureter but went back into my kidney. Now other stones are visible in both. My right kidney and bladder are showing signs of "pre" infection but they feel it isn't an urgent situation due to the fact it is in the kidney and not blocking the urine flow. Although my right kidney isn't emptying properly. Still uncomfortable pain and just want it over with. Did you have a stint put in following your ureteroscopy with laser?
Avatar f tn had the ct scan yesterday and they found nothing. No kidney stones, appendix looks ok and no ovarian cysts. I feel like I am back to square one! Went straight back to the doctors in the afternoon and she is puzzled. She said she wants to look at the ct scan/analysis herself and to see me again on Monday. She's given me some extra pain killers and told me to take the following. 8x paracetamol, 3x diclofenac, 4-8 codeine a day.
Avatar m tn I have both GB stones and Kidney stones (well, the Kidney Stones come and go) and I would never do that type of regime .. not ever. The consequences can be fatal. How are you doing? Did you have your surgery? Please stop by with an update and WELCOME to our Community!
2059648 tn?1439766665 Kidney stones are likely to cause blockage to flow and if large enough may compromise kidney function. But they are also likely to increase the chances of infections and can cause pain. Based on the clinical symptoms and the kidney functioning, therapy is planned. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I have had back pain around kidney area for a few months and went to docs. She examined me and said my right kidney was inflammed. I was starting to get some pain right side under ribcage too. Mild dull ache type pain. Also still around side and back. Went back 2 weeks later and she examined again and said kidney had gone down but could still feel it. Sent me for an Ultrasound scan. I went on Wednesday this week.Thursday the surgery called me to make appointmen for a blood test (LFT).
Avatar f tn I have only been on Topamax for my migraines since November 2010 and by January I had four kidney stones. One in my left kidney and three in my right. Now I have been taken off Topamax and it was so far the best medication for my migraines I was on 100mg of Topamax and went from having a migraine everyday to once a month. I miss Topamax but the pain of my kidney stones was much worse.
Avatar f tn Sandy thanks for the tip about distilled water, appreciate that. I have a friend who has kidney stones and his doctor said that he is not drinking enough water. I am sure that is not the only reason. There are probably other factors at play. I would try to go to the site that Lynn indicated and please try to see a doctor.
Avatar m tn With abstinence from alcohol, your liver can repair itself. Short of cirrhosis, it can repair itself completely. And even with cirrhosis, it will significantly improve in terms of function. (if you quit drinking) I had similar issues, and was diagnosed with fatty liver disease. 6 months of abstaining from alcohol, and a scope showed my liver as "normal" again.
Avatar f tn I had severe pain in my right side, was constipated, and nauseas. This particular time they found kidney stones, which passed. (I had an Xray, an ultrasound, and xray with dye). In July of 2007 I had another severe attack and was hospitalized with an infection for a week. It hurt so much that I could barely talk. They found another kidney stone and I was scheduled to have it removed in September. I had several more infections/ attacks between July and Sept.
Avatar m tn d follow up with your results as I think they do need to be addressed. Perhaps you have a kidney infection, kidney stones, or kidney dysfunction but only a doctor can diagnose these things and fine out what the whole picture is at this moment of your kidneys. Let us know what happens!
Avatar n tn 60yrs old woman already menopause, history of kidney stones 10 yrs ago no operation was needed because the stones eventually melted with the medicine taken. now had symptom of what looks like light trace of blood in the urine. what is wrong?
Avatar f tn She has been taking medication for it her whole life but constantly produces kidney stones and has frequent kidney stone attacks. We were told a few days ago that she is in kidney failure and will need a liver AND kidney transplant. This disorder is so rare that I have trouble finding answers to specific questions online. I am wondering if this is a risky procedure and/or there are any other options out there for her?
Avatar m tn I had an ultra sound done and it turns out I have a fatty liver with a couple of kidney stones. My doctor seems more concerned with the kidney stones than my liver. No more drinking on a weekly basis any more and a balance diet has been order by the doctor. I asked my doctor if cirrhosis would be picked up on an ultra sound, but I didn't seem to get a straight answer from him. I guess doctors won't look any further unless there's additional symptoms.
Avatar f tn He was taken out by severe pain about 6 months ago when in his home country of Zimbabwe, he was found to have kidney stones and treated for them. The pain subsided for a while but then reoccurred when back in England. He has been to the doctors who sent him to a urinary tract specialist. They found he had swollen kidneys and liver, his tubes either side of his abdomen were swollen but they could find no obvious cause.
Avatar n tn I just wandered if anyone has had kidney stones or bladder stones with NO symptoms, and also whether it is commonplace for people to have crystals in urine - does this necessarily mean stones? Should I be worried that this could signal something worse (like cancer), or would the blood work up have hinted at this? I'm erring on whether to wait patiently for an NHS urologist (could take up to 6 weeks), or whether to investigate this privately, which would mean borrowing money.
1373742 tn?1278629296 Ultrasound and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) have relatively high sensitivity rates for the detection of common bile duct stones but small stones and might be missed. Endoscopic ultrasound ( EUS) may be of benefit as well.
