895634 tn?1283992810 Anybody aware of an association between treatment and kidney stones? I've had renal colic before, but this is by far the most painful bout. Hepatologist gave green light for Vicodin or Percocet, which are helping. Just wondering if there is a connection between stones and hep c treatment.
Avatar m tn Since you are having pedal or leg edema, hence your cardiac, liver and kidney functions need to be assessed for which I suggest you to consult a physician immediately. Abdominal causes like irritable bowel syndrome can also cause such symptoms. Common symptoms include abdominal cramping or pain, bloating and gassiness, and altered bowel habits(alternate constipation and loose stools).

Avatar f tn It took a while but the pain I was having was finally diagnosed as a kidney stone and I have another symptomatic one in the other kidney. But I wonder if kidney stones cause anemia because I suddenly became anemic just over a year ago and we have not been able to find a cause. Although I had occult blood in my urine due to the stone, it was not a lot. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this too or if anyone might know if stones can cause anemia?
Avatar n tn My uncle has it and they say its hereditary. I have been getting kidney stones for about 5-6 years recurrently and before that I had bad ulcers. Now they are seeing enlarged pancreas suggestive of a mass, and previously my liver showed up on ct scan as abnormal density and high liver functions.I have also heard plenty of remarks on the multiple cysts on my cervix and ovaries. I have chronic pain in my lower left flank area and same side under my ribs in abdominal area.

They found he had swollen kidneys and liver, his tubes either side of his abdomen were swollen but they could find no obvious cause.
Avatar m tn Good for you for deciding to quit! I don't know much about kidney and liver problems but can give you insight into a few things that I hope will help you. 1) The pain in your back could be your kidney or kidney stones or your liver. 2) Substituting all meals for alcohol will result in weight loss initially. 3)As for your breath, it smells different how? Avatar m tn Please get ultrasound done to rule out gall stones and pancreatitis. Also blood tests for hepatitis and pancreatitis should be undertaken. Try ciprofloxacin with metronidazole for colitis. Stool examination can rule out intestinal infection.
Avatar m tn you are talking about the pain you are having after you have passed kidney stones, but for me i think that your system has been compromised from the kidney stones taking their course and you need sometime to heal. As for the yellow bowels movements, that could be bile juices from gallbladder or possibly (not sure) from kidney stones passing. let yourself heal for a while and see how you feel, your body has been through something traumatic and needs time to feel better.

Avatar n tn Hi, I recently had a ultrasound on pelvic area, due to pain on lower left and upper right area. Results says abnormal liver and left kidney. I was told I needed a CT scan soon. What could this be? Should I be worried? I am a male 43 and pretty active. I went in to see my Dr. originally because of the pain, bowel changes, extended stomach, heartburn and generally tired most of the time. Anyone know possibly what this could be?
Avatar f tn I've been having a lot of pain on my right side, front, back and side and the pain takes my breath away. I had CT scans and ultra sound to determine if I had kidney stones. Then they sent me for x-rays with contrast and I was told I had a floating Kidney. The nurse for his office said there was nothing that I could do for the pain. "Just deal with it". Wow how can I when the pain takes my breath away and the pain is so bad that I have to lay down in bed until it goes away.
Avatar f tn Kidney cysts are normally painless and they are common. Also kidney pain is usually experience in the flank area of your back and your side. If the pain is directly under your right ribcage: upper right quadrant...there is a plethora of causes that are possible. It could be a fatty liver, gallstones, gallbladder disorder, liver disorders, adhesions ( if you ever had surgery im that region) hernia..etc, etc.
Avatar n tn Urinalysis showed same thing - blood and trace WBC. This time he put in a catheter to catch urine and sent that out for culture. He then checked to see if my bladder had dropped (since I've had 3 kids). My bladder was in the proper place. I'm now waiting for the results of the latest culture. He told me that depending on those results he has some definate ideas about what's going on. He didn't tell me what the ideas are and I didn't want to ask. I am obviously concerned for many things.

Avatar f tn Stones in the gallbladder are diagnosed through imaging studies. The other causes could be gastritis, peptic ulcer disease and GERD. Disorders of the liver and colon could also cause pain. Kidney disorders too produce colicky and sharp pain. Sometimes anxiety with flatulence can cause this pain. He will need to consult his primary care physician for proper evaluation of pain and therapy. Regards.
