stomach virus/fever in december, sore throat/fever in feb., sore throat/fever in march, and today low fever w/scratchy throat. she seems otherwise healthy but i always think the worst. is this common w/kindergarden age kids? can fevers be that common? any insight would be great. thanks.

Then you either have a bladder infection or kidney stones or kidney infection..didn't you post earlier that you thought you had one of those?

has anyone here ever had stabbing shooting pains in the urethra? right at the tip? or near the tip? i have been diagnosed with 4 kidney stones. the largest of which is 3 mm. i have no other symtoms at this time. i have had a cystoscopy.. which came out clear .. everything looks great where the bladder is concerned. last night, i had massive stabbing pains in my urethra.. right near the opening. thay occurred all night.... i am no longer having them.

Blood in urine is a sign of a really bad bladder infection or kidney stones..I had kidney stones with my first and never peed blood..got kidney stones again this pregnancy was peeing blood they said bladder infection but I ended up in hospital 3 days later with kidney stone attack so I either had both or was trying to pass stones..I would call my doctor so they can get a urine sample while you are peeing the blood out..

The fact that your pain moves from one side to another would seem to me to indicate that it is not a kidney stone,UNLESS you have a stone(s) in each of your two kidneys. I've had many stones in both sides and I've never had the symtoms that you are describing.

Im almost 36 weeks and im having a irritating pain in my kidney. Ive already been in the hospital once before because i had blood in my urine and my kidney was hurting me. Question is should i just wait it out and see if it goes away or should i go back to the er? I have this pain frequently and some days its hurts more then others.

I had a couple of uti's around 5 I took antibiotics but it keeps coming back but my left side hurts really bad so does my back I'm starting to think it might be a kidney infection now I'm in so much pain

Does anyone know if it is possible to still have a kidney infection after rounds of antibiotics like Cipro and Levaquin? Every time I go to the ER they tell me that my urine is free of bacteria but contains white blood cells. I have extreme flank pain and abdominal pain.

So I have been in agony all weekend in my lower right back and lower right abdomen. It has gotten progressively worse and now I actually can't even move it hurts that bad. :( I have a Drs appt in half an hour to check what it is. I really don't want it to be a kidney infection. But whatever it is I am in complete agony. I feel sick and the pain is so bad. Is this really bad for my baby girl? I'm 22w today.

i have had numerous kidney infections in the last year the doctor just keeps giving me antibiotics which i dont know if its them or the pain that makes me sick i start with pain in my right flank which then goes to the bottom of my back which then comes and goes but does get really intense i do get pain when i breath 2 could anybody help have you had the same symptoms

My boyfriend thinks he has a kidney infection because he has a pain in his right side and it burns when he goes to the bathroom. He had the same thing before and we do not have much extra money to go to a Dr. so he was wondering if there was something he could do for it. Does drinking cranberry juice work or is that just a myth?

I did go back to the doctor Friday and she wants me to try taking something for anxiety. She told me to get back in touch with her in a month and we will go from there. Thank you very much for opinion on the matter.

Sounds like kidney or urinary tract infection. Call doc, see if you bring in a urine sample. If it is an infection, only antibiotics will help, nothing over the counter unfortunately - but believe me I love my heating pad. I even bring it with in the car with a power converter. I've had several kidney issues, and now am recovering from surgery for nutcracker syndrome and pelvic congestion syndrome (found both in men and women). Good Luck.

It may show some urine protein.In your case,these were not present.Kidney infections may also present with nausea, vomiting and fever.In your case, has this occurred?

I went to urgent care the other day because I was having really bad pain in my low back and could barely walk. The doctor said I had a Kidney infection and prescribed me antibiotics. My question is I have been taking them for 3 days now twice a day and been drinking lots of water, but my pain is still there it hasnt went away. hi vicki, i suffer with chronic kidney disease and i think you still have a kidney infection by the sounds of your symptons and the swelling of your ankles may well have something to do with your kidneys as i myself get swollen ankles when i have a kidney infection the specialist can tell you more as everyone differs hope i was of some use gud luck linzi!!!

A kidney infection is just the result of an untreated bladder infection. I had a kidney infection two years ago and it was awful. The medication you get should knock it out if it is an infection, or stronger ones if it doesn't work.

Stay hydrated and take your meds!!!! I was in the hosp for a kidney infection last month and I got the flu and pneumonia on top of it b.c I let myself go untreated for too long. It is no fun! They give you iv meds that make you feel like crap. So just be sure to finish your entire dose of meds and drink plenty!!

I have looked at symptoms of kidney infection and the only part that fits is the throbbing back pain. No fever, no nausea or vomiting, chills. I am fatigued, but I haven't been sleeping well because if the throbbing pain. I have been drinking plenty of fluids, cranberry juice and lots of water. I hate to waste the money on another doctor visit if they are just going to give me a muscle relaxer for back pain.

I had a bad case of pyelonephritis (kidney infection) this past week, I had to spend a night in the hospital. It was so painful, when I stood up, I could barely catch my breath. I had to walk hunched over until it let up a bit so that I could make it to the car. I thought for sure I had another kidney stone but they finally dx me with a kidney infection that had spread from my bladder. And to top things off, it took the nurses 7 tries to get an IV in me at 5am!
