Avatar n tn For some people caffeine does raise BG (caffeine is a stimulant). For others it does not raise BG. only way to tell is to test. Test before... drink... test after. if BG higher after than for you yes. HOWEVER do NOT do the test in the morning as you may have DP (Dawn Phenomenon) and that can sque the results of any testing in the morning.
Avatar f tn My doc said up to 200mg on caffeine a day is considered safe. That's a large coffee from Tim Horton's. I actually just stopped because it's giving me heartburn.

And I stopped drinking coffee cold turkey. BUT, once I got into my third trimester I started drinking a half a cup of coffee in the morning cause I missed my mornings where I drank my morning coffees lol. So half a cup a day for me.
