Avatar f tn I found out after being gone from the country for 19 months my cholesterol went through the roof one the good was 202 the bad 288 and the tribulates was over 100 high as well I began to have chest pains that sometimes I feel more in the middle of my back sometimes I feel the pain in my shoulder and jaw the chest pains sometimes feel like something feel as if someone is squeezing my heart other times just a ache when this begins my BP will suddenly rise up with the edema I get in my legs feet
Avatar f tn Did you have a previous jaw injury? Jaw pain is also on the list for a symptom of a cardiac event. Any possibility of that? Stress and posture issues can aggravate it. Have you tried any nsaids like ibuprofen or motrin for it? That would reduce any internal immflamation and acts as a pain reliever. Does it do anything for you? There are other meds they might use but this is where I'd go first for sure. Then if that doesn't work, they do have other things you can try . . .
370181 tn?1595629445 Thanks so much for your response, selma. I didn't think about the vagus nerve being a possibility and I'd never heard of the condition you called "silent reflux." I was just incredibly relieved you didn't immediately say "run to your cardiologst as it might be a heart attack!" That is what I was fearing someone would say.
Avatar n tn If it's heart ischemia and brought on by eating, it would also be brought on by exercise at that stage, even walking up a slight incline. Stress can obviously affect the digestive system dramatically, so I would get a Doctor to check you out.
Avatar m tn My main concern is jaw pain. After short periods of running I am experiencing pain, specifically around my joints. After doing some light background research I saw this this could be linked to heart disease. Before anyone responds a few points should be made. -I was tested extensively for heart issues when I was 4 due to a benign heart murmur. - I have scoliosis which causes one of my legs to be approx .25 inches shorter than the other. I require the use of a lift in one shoe.
Avatar f tn sounds more like your heart then your gallbladder,,,i say this because you WILL experience the arm/jaw pain with heart issues,NOT with gallbladder issues.
Avatar n tn ve even had a mild heart attack, chest pain radiating from the chest to the lower jaw is a symptom of a heart attack, if you have any dizziness or feeling sick then see a doc straight away
Avatar m tn IF not, jaw pain can be signs of other issues, especially after having chewed lots of gum. You could have something known as TMJ and that causes jaw pain. TemperoMandibularJoint disease can be brought on by repetitive movement of the lower jaw, which can cause lots of pain. You could also have a blocked salivary gland known as siladentits, which causes jaw pain. I would recommend seeing an MD if you have not done so already. Both of the issues I mentioned can be treated with medicine.
Avatar f tn still if you think you have some heart issues it may be of some value to ask for a recording heart monitor that you wear for 24 hours or longer. It is important that you heart signals be observed when you are experiencing the pain problems. Were in having any of your pain symptoms when an EKG was done? If yes, then a longer term monitor may not yield anything new.
659608 tn?1318289366 It is however more than possible that you could have an infection in your jaw, say, from an impacted or infected wisdom tooth. Tooth pain can often make the ear and neck hurt as well (just as an ear infection can make the teeth hurt...). There is also the possibility that there is nothing wrong with you dentally either and you are suffering from neuralgic pain.
1161097 tn?1262718792 I think i have a heart problem. i have sudden pain close to my heart when it happen i have to relax for the pain to go away otherwise it will come on stronger. what kind of heart problem is that? do you think i have a week heart?
Avatar m tn It changes every day and does not always bother me. I also feel some occasional tightness in my jaw on both sides and on the left side of my face. I have also noticed that for the past few weeks I have been occasionally biting my tongue while talking. Lately I have also had pain from the left side of my neck to my shoulder. This can happen sitting down or moving. I had my heart checked, it is ok. Could this be TMJ? If yes, what to do?
Avatar n tn When ever I feel more pain under my chest/heart burn kind of thing i have this mouth walls soreness and severe jaw pain both sides. Omeprozole is not at all working for my GERD. If I take antacid like Gaviscon it works. And i feel better. But after i stop the Gaviscon antacid again it comes back. Even if I jog in the morning my throat pains. When i asked the doctor about jaw pain they said it is related to dental issue. I consulted dentist he found nothing and said, there may be wisdom tooth.
Avatar m tn 3. what else could be causing the heart pain that i feel in left side of chest that radiates to left jaw and left arm and hand? is it possible for someone my age and test that i have had to have CAD, that causes my symptoms? thanks, also sometimes i feel a fluttering sensation in my chest that feels like my hearts not beating right and i get kinda weak and hot, i also CANNOT reproduce the chest pain by pressing on the area.
Avatar f tn with an incredibly powerful ache in my jaw and both my upper arms, I removed my retainer, thinking the jaw pain was possibly caused by that and I got no relief. I drank some water and took two Panadol after about half an hour of sitting trying to figure out what was wrong. It was a type of pain I have never felt and the pain in my arms, I would describe as in my veins and in my jaw, it just hurt everywhere in my lower jaw. Between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m.
Avatar m tn (I have gerd as well as IBS and was told my ephogus was messed up),but the jaw and shoulder pain seemed to go away. Fast forward to march of this year. the should pain and jaw pain came back in full force. I know have constant left shoulder and Jaw pain. Over the last few weeks I have developed a felling like I have to cough all the time. I also feel bloated (even more then I am) and my stomach always hurts. I wake in the morning and I feel ok until I get out of bed.
Avatar f tn But the one that would concern me to immediately rule out is a cardiovascular reason. Women in particular can have lower left jaw pain during a heart attack. Now, I know this isn't presenting exactly that way for you but still is worth checking out. If you have any other symptoms with it like shortness of breath or chest discomfort, please go to the ER. The one thing that I think is fairly common is nerve compression called Trigeminal neuralgia. This is a big reason we get jaw pain.
Avatar n tn Since then I have had a lot of head aches and a dull aching pain in my jaw joints. The jaw/head pain comes and goes. The chest/back pain has mostly disappeared. However, the jaw pain and headaches are causing anxiety. I went to my dentist and he said I needed to get my wisdom teeth out. Perhaps this is the cause of the jaw pain... I tend to be a worrier, and believe this may be anxiety. But I'm just not sure.
370181 tn?1595629445 Hi selma...........the past few nights I've had really bad GERD attacks and I have a few questions. Because of some heart issues and drug interactions, I can no longer take anything like Prilosec or Previcade (sp). I take two differrent blood pressure meds, Norvasc and Atenolol. I THINK one of those affects stomach acid.........do you know if that is true? Tums and Rolaids and OTC's do nothing to help. Is there anything you've found in the "natural" category to help?
Avatar f tn s so bad that I get a new, completely different ache in my chest, shoulder and jaw, which feels more like what I imagine a heart attack would feel like than heartburn. Feels a bit like a lump moving too, and the pressure is bad but it goes away with heartburn treatment so I assume it's heartburn related...
Avatar f tn The only reason why I am concerned is because I have both chest and jaw pain and those are heart attack symptoms. I also have pain in both my arms. A couple days agobefore I went to the doctors I had sweating, pressure in chest, and trouble breathing Is that why the EKG came back normal because those symptoms were gone at the time?
Avatar n tn I have jaw pain in my upper left jaw that radiates up to my eye and head on that side. It is a kinda dull pain and also kind numbing feeling. Anyone else experience jaw issues with fibro?
Avatar n tn A related discussion, bagk and neck pain was started.
Avatar n tn I have been having sharp pains in the middle of my chest. The pain goed up into my jaw and ear. What can this be? I have high blood pressure.
703031 tn?1398963307 If the fever has not increased, it is not easy that it will be a blood infection. In the other hand, heart issues due to teeth extraction are possible, mainly due to the effect of vase constrictors effects of the anesthesia used, but they should appear much earlier than 3 days later. Just in case it is a cardiac problem, do not use any pain killer, like ibuprofen, that rise the blood pressure. If required chose the ones that does not rise BP.
Avatar n tn When people refer to jaw pain and heart attack where on the jaw is this referring to. Is it lower jaw or up near the cheek on the upper jaw. Is the pain intense or throbbing.
Avatar f tn Would it cause pain in the ear when swallowing? Not pain in my throat but in the ear and under the jaw bone.
