Hi,i m 17 ears old and i've been getting pain behind my ears since my childhood.In my childhood it was more adverse as i use to get feverish.Now i don't get feverish but the pain behind my ear( lower part of ear which is softer)and it really hurts ,even sometimes i can feel pain while i talking or eating and even when i m sleeping on that ear's side.At often the pain shoot up high for a second and it becomes unbearable.
I have this small lump behind my left jaw line and under ear for almost 1 years now, it does feel pain and uncomfortable, I went the 2 different ENT doctors and did 2 CT scan, one with ink one without both report come out nothing....... but the small pain and feeling it still there also feel pain infront of my ear and inside mouth around jaw join but open or close jaw doen't feel pain. So should I try a different ENT again?? or can this be cancer?? what should I do now??
I recommend going to the doctor... Sounds like severe sinus issue?
severe pain on the bone behind my ear. I have bruxism (teeth grinding) as well. Any time I have tooth or jaw pain for any reason (like not wearing my night guard), the ear pain gets worse. Pain from the jaw / teeth tracks up to the head, behind the ears. Sinus infections definitely worsen the pain (which can spread to forehead, cheek, nasal area during infections).
t help with pain until about 3 days after. By that time I I felt more shooting pain behind my ear changed to more constant electric zapping pain and my lower teeths next to the extraction sites began to ache with dull and shooting pain. and for following days the pain was spreading to teeth more in front. For all these time my dentist suspected infection and I was on antibiotics. There were days I couldn't sleep and area that pain hit changed each day.

There is a clicking sound heard from my ears but also hear similar crackling sound when moving jaw so believe it's not to do with my ears. Have had ent look at ears previously, says they are fine. Wondering if anyone has had anything firmiliar. haven't found any videos with this same sound. I am not opening and closing my jaw in this just holding it slightly open. https://youtu.
Not affecting eye sight or any symtoms linked to it. Found softish non moveable lump behind ear feels like its attached to jaw bone. But if i open mouth or turn head lump disapears.... Most symtoms popped up after i found that lump behind ear i was thinking most of my symtoms could be caused by anxiety and depression because i had no problems before i found it ... If it is cancer i wont get treated by kemo or radiation i will posibly do surgery...
I am 40 years old and have been living with knifing sharp ear pain in my ear for many, many years. I have managed (somehow) to block it out, although sometimes it is not easy. I apply pressure to my left ear when the shooting pain starts and hold it there for a few seconds until the pain subsides. I always had ear infections growing up. A few years back, I went to the worst ENT I think on the planet.
My daughter has been experiencing head pain around her ear, above and behind and the pain radiats to her lower jaw ... she noticed this 2 days ago and the only thing she recalls that can have an effect on her was that she wore ear phones in music class and wears earrings..but I don't know if this contributes to the pain or caused it.. I gave her tylenol yesterday and it didn't help so today I tried Excedrin....What can be causing this pain?
It was non tender, until a few days back. I noticed that it was tender and the pain was radiating to my jaw and my inner ear. A dull type of a pain. Nothing that kept me up at night or req me to take pain killers. My doc told me to monitor it for a week to see if it enlarges and if the pain persists...and old me no to touch it. I have had my widom teeth removed and i have no dental infections. I havn't had a cold in awhile now, and i usually don't catch the flu or cold so quick.
hello, you could have tmj-temporomandibular joint disease-it does cause dizziness, headaches, pain in and around the ear, pain in the jaw and jaw clicking and popping. there are some good articles on the internet they give you more symptoms and info about it. i am not a dr-- i do not know about fever-chills and throwing up. with that it could be something else. sounds like you may need to see a dr and let him or her decide what is going on. good luck and hope you feel better soon.
I have been diagnosed with TMJ even though I have no clicking or popping or jaw problems, only pain in my ear right side and around my ear in a typical TMJ pattern. Recently, for about two months I have been getting sharp shooting pains in the back of my head and around my ear. It may happen once or twice a day, lasts for about 3-10 seconds and then goes away. It does not happen every day, I would say in the last month its happened once per week. Today is the worst I've ever experienced.
For as long as you've had them, it would probably be good to see your doctor. Did they all appear at once? Also, have they grown in size since you discovered them? If not, it's likely nothing to worry about but I'd confirm that with your doctor.
The swelling and pain could also be due to mastoiditis, which is infection of the bone behind the ear. This happens when there is a middle ear infection, which spreads to involve the mastoid bone. You may need to consult your primary care physician who will examine you and initiate appropriate therapy.
