januvia

194838 tn?1303428544 Hi, I am taking Glucophage (slow release Metformin) and have just been prescribed Januvia to take also. I have had stomach pains and upset stomach since being on them, the plus side is that I have lost weight so am very happy about that but wondered if anyone else has experienced the stomach pain and if so how long did it take for it to subside. If anyone has any advice etc I would be so grateful.
Avatar f tn my defibrilator fired 8 times in 40 minutes as my heart was out of control) Normally I am a happy person, look on the bright side type of person and have met my heart problems head on with no pity parties and a very positive outlook. But the D word is totally embarressing and I am so very ashamed of having this disgusting disease. Does anyone have any words of advice and could someone let me know if I am eating enough food.

194838 tn?1303428544 Hi, I recently posted about severe side effects I was experiencing with the drug Januvia , I had severe stomach pains and sore throat. My doctor has now prescribed Galvus and said they are from the same family as Januvia. Has anybody tried this drug? if so did you experience any side effects ,especially stomach pains? . It may sound stupid but I am a little scared to take Galvus after what happened before.
Avatar n tn I've noticed some off and on issues and told doctor, so she told me to take with largest meal of the day (dinner) and it has helped me a lot. I've been taking 500mg daily since last October. (not the ER version). Hope that you feel better soon.
488724 tn?1253551235 Funny when i weighed 230lbs, i was healthy felt fine, lost the weight, and now i got all these problems. Avatar n tn I would love to have those numbers.. i have to workout like crazy and eat very little to get close to those and thats also with taking another med with the metformin. I would say something is very wrong with what they are trying to do.
Avatar f tn The levothyroxine has a long half-life within the blood and may also be withheld for 3 to 4 days without significant changes observed. The Januvia and blood pressure meds you shouldn’t mess around with, so the experiment may not be performed completely. . While you may think the diet has nothing to do with it, but I think investigating would be better than pure recall. You could try to make a log of things she eats and again try to make changes there depending on which foods seem suspect.
Avatar n tn Been on januvia for a week. Blood sugar is not going below 120 ...and as high as 250. Was on glyburide. Had trouble with BS dropping as low as 40. Doc thought I would do better with this drug. I have only one kidney so was prescribed a 50mg dose. Will it regulate after I have been on for awhile?

Avatar m tn I am having problems with sour stomach and gas. Sometimes not too bad and other times, terrible. Hoping this will all subside after my system gets adjusted. My appetite isn't good but I manage to eat enough.
Avatar f tn I have been on Metformin, Januvia and Glimeperide for a few years. They are not controlling my diabetes. She wanted me to try Victoza and give up the Januvia. I got over fear of giving myself the shot, but on the 3rd day I began to get sick. On the 4th and 5th days I couldn't even go to work. Changed shot to before bed instead of morning and it made no difference. After a little over a week I stopped it. Lost 5 lbs cause I couldn't eat anything.
Avatar f tn What does this sound like, and what can I do about it? I am a Type 2 Diabetic, and take Metformin, Januvia, and Zoloft for anxiety.
488724 tn?1253551235 now to 898, Januvia is good, it helped me lose a little weight even, i was on glyburide and the 1000mg of metformin and my numbers were always going down to 49 to 70 every day 2 hours after breakfast and and sometimes afternoon id have like 80 or 85. so my doctor put me on the januvia to help me keep my body from going to low... now the lowest ive been is 67, and high 70s.
Avatar f tn I also have hypothyroidism (hashimotos). I take synthroid 100mg since 1995, Victoza injection, januvia, and hazaar and b12 2000 mg sublingual, b9, and biotin for the last year. I went to a dentist and a salivary gland specialist and they don't think it's a big deal! The ent prescribed rubinol to dry up the saliva which I haven't taken yet. I have even thought about making my front 6 teeth longer to keep from spitting on people when I talk!

Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with severe gastritis caused by H. Pylori this march and the doctor treated me with antibiotics and some antacids. After some time I repeated the test for H. Pylori and it was negative. But the symptoms weren't gone. I had nausea, heartburn, constant fullness and pain in the stomach even after eating little amount of food, loss of the appetite, chronic fatigue (in the past I've also had candida infections).
Avatar f tn I had similar syptoms four years ago and was diagonsed with diverticulitus if its bad I have anti biotics but when I feel it coming on I drink peppermint tea especially morning and night and now and again ginger ale. It helps and sometimes I can stop an attack before it comes too bad. I suggest you go back to your doctor and ask to be tested for diverticulitus of Irritable bowl syndrome.
Avatar m tn If the pain is above your navel, that is where your stomach is, so check out the diet and possibility of ulcers...and no drinking alcohol until you find out....
