acne

Avatar m tn Hello, You can use any benzoyk perocide soaps available in the market, common ones being Jan marini benzoyl peroxide or Topic benzoyl peroxide soap. Other treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.
Avatar n tn The preferred preventive and ongoing treatment for open pores in all skin types and conditions is azelaic acid, the highest concentration of which (20%) is found in MD Rx Higher Strength Azelaic Acid. The next highest concentration is available in Jan Marini Bioclear Cream and Lotion, albeit at only 1%. No other alternative sources currently exist. http://www.treatment-skincare.com/Open-Pores.
Avatar n tn The gel is more effective since it stays on your skin and penetrates better than the wash. I wouldn't recommend using them both unless your acne is severe, it may causes excessively dry skin or irritation.
Avatar f tn I was using to murad acne exfoliating gel and mederma skin care gel for that scars. Is it safe to continue using it? Please help!
Avatar f tn Ive lived with acne my whole life. Im 19 years old and I feel like Im never going to have a beautiful face. All my life ive felt insecure and ashamed to look people in the face. Ive talked to my doctor about it, and all she does is proscribe me things that never work. Ive tried most of the products that I can afford. I was just wondering if anyone out there has found a good product that may be helpful. Im willing to try pretty much anything. Thank you.
Avatar f tn If you are having inflammatory acne then tetracycline or doxycycline or minocycline; benzoyl peroxide 5% gel; azelaic acid 20% cream; clindamycin 1% lotion or cream; erythromycin 2% gel or cream. If you are having recalcitrant acne in women then probably oral contraceptive containing norgestimate 0.25 mg and ethinyl estradiol 0.035 mg; spironolactone; prednisone. If you have acne where sweating is an aggravating factor then aluminum chloride solution should be your choice of your treatment.
1364054 tn?1346005167 My cycles are irregular, but I visited gynaecologist and she said everything is ok. My dermatologist gave me for therapy Sona gel by night, during the day Klindamicin gel/ 3 weeks and then neutral creams, Hiramycin caps a 100mg 2x1/7days, then 1x1/2weeks, and UV protection. What do You think about it? My problem started when I heard that Klindamicin gel can´t be bought in my country. Do You know any good replacement for that medication? If not can I use only Sona gel and pills?
Avatar n tn Initially you can try Tretinoin cream 0.025%, tazarotene 0.1%; adapalene 0.1% gel; benzoyl peroxide 5% gel; azelaic acid 20% cream; salicylic acid 1–2% cream or gel; alpha hydroxy acid preparation; trichloroacetic acid 10–20% peel. You can visit a Dermatologist as to which treatment is suitable for you. Keep me informed if you have any queries. Bye.
Avatar f tn by means of counting the total number of acne lesions and also by rating acne severity on a standardized index. The results showed that tea tree oil gel was significantly more effective than placebo at reducing both the number of acne lesions and their severity. Niacinamide In a double-blind trial, 76 individuals with moderately severe acne were treated with either 4% niacinamide gel or 1% clindamycin gel (a standard antibiotic treatment).

Avatar f tn Fearing that those would leave me marks I went to dermatologist and was prescribed acne clear gel, hidrate lotion and adaferin gel. I have been using acne gel and hidrate lotion from one month my acne settled well. But from last 3 days I am getting very bad white flakes on face. My face is tight and some time applying lotion burns my face. White flakes have appeared first time on my face. I am very scared does this resembles dermatitis? I also have little bit itching on face.
Avatar m tn 1. When applying Duac once daily gel I wash my hands with hand wash and then just wash my face with water before applying the gel, what cleansing routine should I be using to improve my acne? Should I be using some sort of soap when washing my face? 2.
Avatar n tn Refrain from unnecessarily touching the face. Wash your hands frequently. Acne medications in gel form may be beneficial in your case especially if you have oily skin. Only apply locally over the area.
Avatar n tn Hey Grace, I was wondering if you knew anything about this topical treatment which showed substantial promise in phase II trials before apparently failing in phase III trials. Is it used for anything today or available anywhere?
5958897 tn?1426798528 I use erythromycin topical gel prescribed by my dermatologist as well as Mario Badescu acne wash. Sort of helps.
Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
Avatar m tn it says its for rosacea but doest oracea work to kill acne to or no?and the differin gel 0.3% isnt this not as strong drying to dry up pimples as retin a micro 0.1%?why do you think he changed everything i dont wanna break out more for this stuff im thinking of calling the office friday and asking him but hes always so busy..do you think this is a good change or bad and why.im trying to uunderstand how the differin gel 0.3% not as strong as the retin a mico 0.
Avatar n tn For the first few weeks after stopping use of the Duac gel, you will probably experience a moderate breakout. However, this should not discourage you. The Duac treatment is a combination of clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide; these chemicals work to manage the bacteria on your skin, killing it and allowing for a healthier, cleaner complexion. Any anti-bacterial medicine becomes ineffective after a while, as bacteria evolves and then resists the compounds originally intended to relinquish it.
Avatar f tn i also have mild ice pick scarring and enlarged pores. i use acnecide 5% benzoyl peroxide gel every night for acne and yesterday night, i put on acnecide all over my fave and then put ambi fade cream with 2% hydroquione on top of it on my spots. i then put on aloe vera gel from holland and barretts as moisturiser. i woke up today morning with huge brown patches covering both my cheeks.my natural skintone is a golden tan colour and the patches are a much darker brown shade.
Avatar f tn Can anyone recommend an acne treatment for those cystic acne bumps that take forever to go away? I'm 46 and did Accutane in my 20s with pretty good results until the last several years. I've had the most success with Pro Active, but my skin got really itchy when I wore mineral powder makeup and I kept ruining towels, pillowcases and shirts. I've also tried Acne Free, Murad and Dermatologic plus prescription cream with no luck.
Avatar f tn On Dec. had a 2.17, on Jan. 9 a 1.89. I found a lab to send in the WB on Jan 13 or so and got the negative result on Jan 27. Do it as soon as you can. My life was hell for that time. Your dr should be able to do it, but i didn't want anyone to know. I tried the public clinic, but they never heard of it and couldn't be bothered. They just gave me a prescription for acyclovir which I took for 3 weeks. You have to watch out for yourself in this country I guess.
Avatar f tn I haven't had any acne at all, but try Clean & Clear foaming face wash. It has an antibacterial ingredient (not salicylic acid) that gets rid of bacteria. Also, Dr. Lin's Hydrating Gel is good to use instead of fame cream, and might soothe painful acne. I'm not sure, since I haven't had any breakouts, these are products I've just always used daily that might be helpful.
