Avatar n tn Hello. For the past week I have had itchy elbows. The last 2 days small bumps have started to apear and it is spreading a little around to the bend of my elbow. I try not to scratch it. I am just getting over broncitus. I have never had any allergies or dry skin. It is very iritating. I have been taking Benadryl allergy & rubbing cortizone 10 on it but it has not really been helping out. Any suggestions would help.
Avatar f tn I am only 7wks and I have very itchy elbows and knees. They aren't dry. There are also welt like bumps that look like a mosquito bite but I wasn't bitten. Anybody else experience this so early and if so, what helps? I've tried ice, lotion, calamine etc. nothing is coming close to helping. The books say it will subside after childbirth but 8 more months of this sounds crazy! Please help.
Avatar f tn I have a pimple red itchy rashes on my elbows, it started off as one and it itched so much i scratched it, then it got worse and my other elbow began to itch also. =( what do you think it is, could it be a allergic reaction or eczema?

Avatar n tn But I've tried many different types of anti-itch creams and nothing seems to work and now it's starting to keep me up late at night because the skin itches so much. The skin on my elbows doesn't seem to have the blisters, it's just dry and itchy. Avatar m tn Anyway, About 7 days ago I noticed small red dots that I thought were mosquito bites on both outer elbows. A few days later, they got bigger and expanded, leaving a raised, red, EXTREMELY itchy rash. The rash is not dry or flaky and does not have any excretion or leakage. It is just inflamed red itchy skin. This has been driving me insane for the last week and does not appear to be going away at all.
Avatar m tn I have itchy and red my palms, heels, elbows and knees.Saw dermatologist many times no improvement. My hands look terrible. This discussion is related to rash on hands won't go away, even after medical treatment.
Avatar m tn Elbows red and itchy bumps and liittle tiny bumps on right hand on side of my fingers?
Avatar f tn I occasionally break out with itchy, painful bumps on my knuckles and elbows. They are skin-colored or slightly reddened, hardish bumps, no weeping or oozing at all. If I lean just right on my elbow they cause sharp pain. I believe it may be viral of some sort, because they seem to only appear when life is stressful. They itch like crazy- almost as bad as poison ivy, which I've had a lot. Has anyone else experienced this or have any diagnosis or treatment ideas?
Avatar n tn Hi Recently my skin of the elbows became very red and itchy. It is already 3 days the skin is not back to normal. I think this is an allergy but don't know the reason. I don't have anything similar in my knees and other places. Can you advice me anything? Is it a sign of psoriasis?
Avatar n tn Hello, Dry skin itself is one of the commonest cause of itchy skin. But if it is very itchy then it can be due to fungal infection or tinea cruris. Wash your groin daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. A hairdryer is useful if you have hairy groins. The damp groin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply.
Avatar n tn Recently noticed non itchy patch of skin colored bumps on one of my knees. Same one inch patch has become angry red patch of waxy hard pimply type bumps. Not itchy just irritated but now have noticed 2 or 3 hard, skin colored, waxy pimples on my elbows. I washed all patches and applied vinegar followed by bactroban hoping to kill anything contagious. What is this and how do I treat? I'm worried it will spread.
Avatar n tn It started out as a dry skin, scaly, and painful patch between the fingers of my left hand. It was not itchy then, but was painful when the skin dried and fell off, exposing painful cracks and raw skin underneath. I seemed to have developed very dry hands and that did seem to aggravate the problem and seemed to cause it to spread. I did go to a dermatologist and was told to use lotions like Cetaphil and the like, very purish lotions w/o other ingredients that may make the symptoms worse.
Avatar f tn I'm told itchy skin is part of the third trimester, but its been pretty intense. Any one else have it bad (to the point of getting bumps/rashes) and what do you use to help?
Avatar m tn My problem is that about three months ago, I broke out with these bumps on my elbows, and they would pop, but it quickly got out of control and spread, some of them would mesh together and they become extremely easy to pop, like a blister, this then spread to my hands. Keep in mind, these are NOT scaly, NOT leathery. I went to the emergency room because it got so bad, the doctor said it was cellulitis, and prescribed me antibiotics.
Avatar n tn Allergic reaction can occur to strong soaps, Solvents, chemicals, certain foods, food additives, plants, metals, cosmetics, even urine and faeces of some animals (dust mites). Diagnosis of skin allergies includes Skin ***** tests (pricking the skin with a needle or pin containing a small amount of the allergen ('***** Testing' or 'Scratch Testing'), Patch tests (by applying a patch to the skin, where the patch contains the allergen.)And RAST.
Avatar f tn Hello, One of the possibilities for your symptoms is of eczema skin which is a sort of dermatitis skin and presents as red, itchy, flaky rash. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid.
Avatar n tn My (nearly) 9 month old child has suffered with itchy skin for a while now, I saw my G.P and was told that he had eczema with thrush. This is situated on the elbows. After a few weeks I noticed that one of the patches on his elbow had turned into a circle and was scaly and bumpy. Looking on the web and seeing some of the pictures it looks to me like it could be 'Ringworm'. I would appreciate your comment before I take my son to the doctors.
Avatar f tn I get itchy out of the blue. For instance the inside of my elbows, or my forehead, or my leg, etc. I will begin light scratching and before I know it I look down and there are tiny little red bumps there. I don't know if they were there before or after I started scratching. Also get itchy scalp. It can just be anywhere. Can put on anti itch cream or even lotion and rash will fade, but keeps cropping up. Seems like it's been going on forever.
Avatar n tn shortly after that, my lower legs ans thighs started to get very itchy as well as my arms in the creases of the elbows, behind each shoulder, and on the back of my neck. All would be more red and dry and itch more as i scratched. These symptoms lasted for about 4-5 weeks. I thought it was Eczema so I applied Hydrocortisone cream to the ares and with in a day it was like 80% better and with in 3 days it was gone.
Avatar f tn These finger ones swell a little more and they hurt more than itch. Last night, my lower back was itchy and I felt a few bumps. Once my elbows stop their "itchy bouts" they flatten and stay red. I have noticed rubbing aveeno non-scented overnight super hydrating lotion stuff on my elbows calms them down a little bit. I have had this before, when I wasn't taking b.control or antibiotics. It went away after awhile but I thought it was an allergic reaction.
482830 tn?1247024437 Hello, about a year ago I developed small itchy bumps on my butt near the opening of my vagina. Since then the rash of itchy bumps has spread to the the fronts and backs of my knees & elbows, my hips, my inner thighs, and my stomach. The itching comes and goes and is most pronounced when I remove my clothing. These patches of itchy skin are not at all painful. They also do not blister. I scratch them but it only provides a brief period of relief.
Avatar n tn According to her, the growths are very very itchy, so she tends to scratch them. Over the year, the skin over these nodules became thick and became dark in color. She went to several general practitioners they said that her skin condition was not that alarming. They did not tell us or explain to us the disease. She was prescribed with anti-allergy medications, some mild soap and lotion. She was only advised to avoid itching or picking on the lesions.
