itchy

Avatar f tn During my pregnancys I have to use head & shoulders because my head gets itchy and no other shampo helps me but that one but I didn't had no idea about all that till now lol
Avatar f tn I tried a bunch of more heavy duty OTC shampoos for dandruff, but none worked. I used an essential oils scalp massage and that worked for a bit. Now it is out of control and driving me crazy. One interesting note, at Christmas time I dyed my hair with one of those "intense" colour hair colourings. It burned and tingled my scalp, but afterward my scalp problems were gone for about 4 weeks. No itching, flaking or soreness.
Avatar f tn Hello, From the symptoms this problem of dry itchy scalp can be due to dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis. You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium. But if your hair is colored, don't use products with selenium sulfide or sulfur.
Avatar f tn ve tried cutting down and have changed the hairspray i was using to a less strong one. I no longer i have any signs of flakey skin dandruff etc. But very recently there are small tiny even clear not really visable itchy spots mostly behind my ears? im confused?
Avatar n tn Hello, It can be due to dandruff, eczema or fungal infection. Dandruff can cause either an overly dry scalp with itchy white flakes that may be waxy or greasy, or it can manifest as an oily scalp with scales. Eat a healthy diet. You can also take vit B6 and vit A and E which are good for hair and skin. Try medicated shampoos for dandruff. There are a number of over-the-counter shampoos available that can help.
Avatar n tn I've never had any issues with my hair, but all of I've noticed when washing it and brushing it alot more is coming out than normally would. And it is alot thinner in just a couple weeks. My scalp is itchy like no other and I've used ever dandruff shampoo, home remedies, even cortisone cream on my scalp...nothing seems to keep the itch away.

Avatar n tn Hi, I've had a rash? on the top of my scalp for a while(more than a year), not itchy, but it is dry and flakes when I scratch it. It is roughly round shaped, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and red but seems to get lighter colored or darker from time to time. Another thing I noticed is that if I do scratch it hard and hold a tissue over the area there is a clear fluid on the tissue, and if i put alcohol on the area at any time it is more sensitive than the rest of my scalp.
Avatar f tn m 29 weeks and FTM the most annoying symptom to me right now is my itchy scalp I try not to scratch or pat but it only seems to make my scalp more itchy an hard to go asleep .
Avatar f tn t have scaly, flaky, itchy, red skin; just itchy scalp and some pimples. I also have had no hair loss; if only I could on my legs and underarms, ha ha. That's why I asked if it could be related to rosacea. Has anyone every heard of rosacea spreading to the scalp; I know it can affect your eyes.

Avatar n tn my scalp is itchy. i see white flakes. feels like I'm getting bit sometimes. help ! I used lice shampoo and it didn't work.
Avatar n tn i have the exact same problem. It seems related to dandruff, but the shampoos that I use that work for dandruff don't work for it.
Avatar f tn I thought it was just from dandruff, which I get from this time of year, along with an itchy scalp. However, twice I have found centimeter-sized bugs in my hair when I was taking a shower. My mom has gone through my hair thoroughly three times and has found no bugs, only white flecks, which she can't distinguish dandruff from nit eggs. The white stuff hasn't multiplied or anything, but we want to be sure whether its lice or just dandruff.
Avatar f tn No matter what i do, for the past 9 years i have had what i thought was severe dandruff. however, i have tried every single anti-dandruff solution they sell and most just make my head more itchy. its weird cuz my scalp comes off in larger chunks than i thought dandruff was. it is also slightly yellower. it is constant, i never have a break from it. its super embarassing too, because i cannot resist to itch it and once i start to scratch i can't stop for like 2 or 3 minutes.
Avatar m tn I have used many different anti-dandruff shampoo with no luck. My scalp is itchy and feels EXTREMELY dry but at the same time if I run fingers through my hair it feels oily. I have noticed that I have red pimples on my scalp too. They have no pus or anything like that just a red bump and when I scratch on it some skin peels off. I think it may be scalp folliculitis. Can someone please help me?? I really don't want to be balding at such an early age!
Avatar m tn Hello, It can be due to dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis. Dandruff can cause either an overly dry scalp with itchy white flakes that may be waxy or greasy, or it can manifest as an oily scalp with scales. Seborrehic dermatitis, also called adult cradle cap is usually caused by overgrowth of Malassezia furfur. This skin disease is aggravated by sweating and humidity. I suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist and get the diagnosis confirmed. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
1486982 tn?1289461783 I have had an itchy scalp and dandruff. My hair is healthy and becomes oily very easily. I have picked up some Tgel, but wanted to know if nayone had any other options on what works. Head and shoulders does nothing but make my hair very oily. ANy suggestions woudl be appreciated.
Avatar m tn Thanks for answering. I took another allergy pill last night, and this morning the bumps are getting a little smaller. The dandruff is with me since I was little. That's not a news for me. I never really go to a doctor for medication for that, but I do try some dandruff shampoo to reduce the dandruff. Some of them work, but after a while the dandruff will come back. It's really annoying but sometimes it's okay, no dandruff at all, but sometimes gets alot.
