itchy rash treatment

I have read through a lot of posts, where people are discussing the rash during treatment. I even read where someone dropped out of a trial because of how bad/itchy it got. My question is -- if you have experienced the rash, what are you telling people?? Particularly co-workers?? Once I begin treatment (in about a month), my plan was to tell co-workers I'm going through something similar to chemo. But several in my office have been through chemo and none had a visible rash.

Hi, I am almost 3 weeks post treatment and the rash is still bad, the hair is still falling out and the monitor says it will for at least another month. But I am still und!!! Is your hair falling out?

After recovering from a serious upper respiratory infection (Amox with Augmentin prescribed), I broke out in a terribly itchy rash. At first it appeared to be like scabies, so was treated for that. Then, at times it was hive like (even the scratches raised up like hives). It is not everywhere, underarms, breasts, naval, lower abdomen, back. chest, shoulders, wrists, hands. There are many small bumps mixed with bigger hive like bumps. Very, very itchy. Calamine helps.

Before thyroid treatment, I got that rash when my FT3 levels were high. Docs kept telling me it was Shingles. After the tenth episode of Shingles, I knew it was something else. One thing I read on this site which has helped me is a beta blocker one (allergy) and two (heartburn) combo. I take Zantac in the am and Zyrtec at night.

my friend was having same kind of itchy rash as if some sort of allergies or a mosquito bite, but after 2months we i also had the same then we discovered BED BUGS in our house . when we done with all treatment of bed bug the all allergies was gone all the itchy rash all that . so dont mind check if it is bed bug?

Hello, It can be due to atopic dermatitis, eczema, heat rash or fungal infection if it is spreading. The treatment for all of these is entirely different. I suggest you to get an evaluation and a KOH examination of the skin scrapings done to confirm the diagnosis for any fungal infection. Biopsy skin can also be done. I hope it helps. So lately I've been feeling so itchy. Like all over my body, I don't get a rash my body just itches. I'm 12w 1d is this normal???

The rash showed up after 5 days into treatment for me..Thank god its not itchy.

I have a red dry feeling, slightly scaly rash on my throat and chest. It is very itchy and kind of burning. I have had something similar in the past which turned into hives all over my face and body. Allergy tests revealled a severe birch allergy, but nothing else. This also started at the same time of year, when my furnace comes on in the fall. Last year it lasted from Oct.- March! I just started to notice a goosebump like rash on my arms. Does not seem to be going away. It's not red or itchy , just small "goosebumps" I am just finishing up radiation. I had five months of chemo before the radiation. The oncologist is not making any connection to the chemo or radiation.I guess I should see a derm. Seems a lot like what your are describing.(?) I in treatment now undergoing chemo, and have an itchy rash on my scalp. Is this from the chemo or possibly the Morphine I'm taking. I don't have the rash anywhere else.

I had the itch and rash end of 2nd trimester.... so annoying. I had steriod treatment for other health issues n it made mine go away.

yes!!! the rash from hell, i thought i was going to lose my mind with the itching, and when i scratched it felt sooooo good lol, but was the wrong thing to do. that anthrax really really helped. it's funny how the sides affect us all in different ways? i got the rash early on, while you are getting it later on? well keep in touch with us, and we will try to help as much as we can. I recently visited my Family Doctor to address a red, itchy rash? around the head of my penis, and in my belly button. My belly button actually had a grey like crust inside. I was prescribed Fluconazole 100mg for a yeast infection (Thrush).. After a week, it appears as if it is getting better (Penis). Red spots going away, no pain during an erection etc. I am now getting what appears to be a itchy rash on the base of my palms, wrists, chest, and belly button area.

Im a 37 year old male with a itchy rash that started out between the fold where the scrotum meets the inner thigh. Wierd thing is some are one line and others are dots in this area. It is not contages so i do not have it. He has had this rash for a two months and just know is it creeping on to his balls. He has tryed Gold Bond, Ivarest, and Cortaid to get reid of it. He also has Athletes foot on both feet and that is not going any were. He has tryed Tinactin (liquid spray and Chill powder spray) to get reid of that too. We do not know if they are connected for the rash or if we are thinking crazy.

IT is not, I have finally decided, a riba rash, but a Victrelis rash. The PA too said that the VIC gives a rash. They rxed steroid creme - triamcinolon and a pill - hydroxyz hcl. They help some and I use a lot of Gold Bond. I have found that Solar Caine works too on the open sores I get from scratching. Also Benedryl spray. I mix and match but yes, Bee, still have the itching and the rashes.
