I had a developed an itchy rash on the back of my hands, on my wrists, stomach, and legs. The physician at the Urgent Care center gave me an steriod shot and prescribed predinisone 10mg. He questioned me about my last period, but he never conducted an urine sample to do a pregnancy test. After taking the meds for a week, I found out that I'm 5 weeks pregnant. It's scary because I know my pregnancy is very early and I don't want any developmental issues going on with my unborn.

If you are itching during pregnancy without a rash (other than the excoriations that can result from scratching), it could be ICP (intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy). I had it with my daughter. It is potentially very dangerous and should be taken very seriously. It does not typically set in quite as early as you describe, but it is not unheard of either. Could you describe in a bit more detail?

Hey ladies im 12 weeks 4 days and I'm breaking out with a horrible itchy rash all over my legs and it's been spreading i called my dr he said just use benadryl and cortisone cream (which I've been doing) but the nurse recommended going get a steroid shot. I get that on my forearms, and.my inner upper arms. Sides of.my thighs sometimes as well. Been very dry this pregnancy. Lotion multiple times a day. Doesn't make it go away but less itchy and irritating. Known for woman to break out in hives during pregnancy. I'm assuming that's what it is. Its getting better as pregnancy continues. I'm 36 weeks.

When I was pg with my dd, I had a rash all the time, was itchy, especially at night. It drove me crazy. The Dr. said it was a rash some women get when pg. i only had it with my dd. I am hoping it doesn't happen this time around. I used the aveno lotion, it seemed to help a little. Your Dr may be able to give you better advice or something else to help.

I started being really itchy at 30weeks with no rash, told my doctor and they drew blood to check my liver, apparently you can get a pregnancy induced liver disease that goes away after you give birth, in my case my results came back negative so it's just another normal pregnancy symptom.

Hey everyone! I am 5 weeks pregnant and have this extremely itchy rash on my body, particularly my arms, chest and trunk. Typically, the rash appears during the last 2 to 3 weeks of pregnancy and occasionally during the last few days. Usually, the rash clears up promptly after delivery and does not recur during subsequent pregnancies. I hope it helps. s just your skin stretching. And even if you drink a lot of water you need more during pregnancy because your blood volume increases. Maybe Try baby lotion or coconut oil after your shower.

Im just wondering if anyone has any experience with cholestasis of pregnancy. It's not a common disorder, but I just took a blood test for it and I've heard it takes about a week to get a result. If anyone hasn't heard of it, it is a liver disorder, apparently sometimes during pregnancy your liver will create too much bile, the bile salts will rise to the skin and cause severe itching.

Hello, This can be due to papular dermatitis of pregnancy which presents as an extremely itchy rash consisting of red, raised spots that look like insect bites. this rash can erupt at any time during pregnancy and then spots continue to appear until childbirth when they clear rapidly. Does the rash come and go? I had a rash that only came at night. If you are past 13 weeks you can take zyrtec and benedryl at the same time. I took aveeno non fragrance body wash bath during the day and at night. It worked. I still take aveeno baths. When I had the rash I was 19-20 weeks. Now im 23 weeks.
