itchy legs only at night

Hi. I hope someone can help. I'm an American that has been living in Qatar for the past eight months. This problem I have has been bothering me for most of this time. My wife isn't experiencing the same symptoms. I often wake up at before dawn with extremely itchy legs. It usually happens at that time, and only when I'm at home. Only my legs display these symptoms.

My legs itch at night. It seems like the only time I scratch is at night.

The strange is that the rash only apears at night or is mostly itchy at around 1 or 2 a.m. It is so intense it wakes me out of a deep sleep. I am married and my husband had itchy ankles before I started with my symptoms. His rash (which did not look like my rash) and itching has since stopped. I've been to the dermatologist but he did not take a scraping since the spots were not juicy (ughhh!) The strange thing is they seem to become inflamed in the middle of the night.

For the past three nights, I have been experiencing this strong itchy sensation on my arms and legs, sometimes shoulders. And when I wake up I see strong hives on my arms and legs. I don't think it's the bedsheets, I have no pets. I have never been allergic to any stuff till now. I also have been having loose motions for the past 4-5 days. I can't seem to understand the reason behind this.

I have been getting a rash (hives) at night on my legs, arms, back. It is accompanied by itching. By the time I wake up in the morning the rash and hives are gone. I haven't changed any soaps, detergents, and I am wondering if anyone has any ideas of what this could be.

For the last month or so when I get home from work my legs will itch so bad it's like I could scratch my skin off and then after I scratch I notice bumps that only show after I have scratched and it's only at night when I get home from work and only my legs...

My wife has been suffering for the past 6 months or so from severe pain in her legs. The odd thing is that it comes on at night only and is bad enough that she can't get to sleep. On getting up and moving about, the pain almost resolves completely - it's still there in the background but it's just an awareness during the day, nothing more.

Itchy red spots on legs, arms, back, stomach and on the back of neck its pretty much everywhere. Really itchy at night to the point its driving me mad can barely sleep its that itchy. Any ideas what it could be or how to stop the itching?

I am experiencing itchy, burning feet only at night on the outside of my feet. My skin is not dry, or cracked nor do I have diabetes. This started a couple of months ago. The only thing that helps is to get up, cool my feet and move around a little. I have tried anti-itch creams and first aid spray. Old home remedy, soaked my feet in Apple Cider vinegar. No help at all.

I happen to itch here n there on my body during the day light when night falls ready for sleep it seems to get worse I tried allergy pills,steroid creams,an changin clothes etc but not nothing works. I have a wife an 3 kids. They dont seem to be bothered or itchy just me ..why why going on 5 months now. I live in New Mexico. No problem there but relocated here to Canada..now I'm itchy ..can't seem to sleep at night an Really really bothers me. I have somewhat Dr says eczema on my hands..

I had itchy calves at night for three weeks straight, my dermatologist said it was because I wasn't drinking enough water! Should drink at least 8 glasses a day especially if you drink a lot of coffee, also moisturizing with a paraffin based cream helps!

I use Venus razor which i think is one of the best around. I have it real bad at night when i go to bed...my legs are a mess right now... Do you have any suggestion as to why? or what i can do different?

t have any allergies that I am aware of. the itching seems to happen after a shower and at night/in the morning ( I think because of temperature changes in my skin?). I don't know if I just have hypersensitive skin or what? it is odd that it would just come on out of the blue. It started last fall during the last trimester of my pregnancy. I considered that I may be allergic to the chlorine in my water? I may try to pick up a water filter. Does anyone know if these work?

I also suffer very itchy legs and feet at night - not every night just every few weeks or so. My lower legs seem a little swollen, warm and slightly flushed as if I have wellie boots on. The itching is more like a pricking and its torture to scratch and torture to not scratch. It lasts ages - at least an hour or two. I've tried assorted creams unsuccessfully. The best thing I find is to get up and have a cup of tea and walk about a bit and not worry about the lack of sleep.

Look at any new soaps, lotions, perfumes or laundry detergent you are using. I went thru the same thing, and only itched at night, I changed my liquid bathsoap and the itch went away. It may also just be dry, itchy skin and there are lotions made specifically to help with the itchiness associated with this. While antihistamines calm the itch, they also calm you, so it makes it difficult to know if it's easing your anxiety and you stop itching, or it only eases your itching, or both.

I have been dealing with itchy legs for over 15 years... and I am only 27! It is usually just my lower legs. I am so relieved to see that other people have my problem. My fiance thinks I am crazy I swear! And all my mom and doctor ever said was "put more lotion on". They just don't get it. It certainly can't be an allergic reaction... why would only my lower legs be allergic to something?

Im glad Im not the only one with "itchy" legs. I have had "itchy" legs for years. I have been told it was all in my head. And have tired almost everything for dry itchy skin. Its mostly my lower legs, the front and side. Sometimes its my upper leg. When they itch, it feels like they are itchy from the bones. I end up itching them so much that I tear my legs open, and usually get a faint scar. They seem dry usually, but are as smooth and soft as my hands are.

I had a problem with itching on my lower legs. At times it was so bad it kept me up all night, and I had scratches all over my lower legs. No rash, just itchy. I tried all kinds of ointments pills and cremes, and nothing worked. In one of these forums it was suggested to try cold water or ice packs. Another suggestion was Sarna Anti-Itch Lotion. These two suggestions worked for me.

the only part on my body itching has been my legs. I have no rashes, no bumps, and nothing like shaving seems to be the cause. I have not changed soap, detergent, or lotion when I started having these problems, but have since tired different soaps like oatmeal, dry skin, and sensitive skin soaps. I have tried benadryl, and even put a humidifier in my room. It sometimes wakes me up at night, and my only option is a cold rag to sooth it.

My legs get really itchy after shaving and at night while sleeping I start scratching them sometimes even without realizing it. okay. i need help my legs are super itchy i am 15, a female who lives in south florida.. i have itchy legs and have had it for a year already. it is after i shave. i cant use shaving cream cause i know im allergic to it. i want to wax but am afraid it maybe worse. my mom doesnt under stand . she says i have to put lotion cause there dry but usually just makes it worse and i get more red bumps then i did before.

I get a burining and itching sensation in my inner thighs and lower legs at night around midnight. It happens mostly in the fall and winter. I have ulcerative colitis. I have been to a nuerologist and have no nerve damage. I take a vitamin b12 shot every month, but that has not helped. this has been going on for 2 years now. I read a comment for curing bilateral itchy legs a while back and it has totally worked for me and I want to share it! My legs started itching bilaterally all of a sudden and would really itch more after a shower and at night time when I was in bed. It was driving me crazy! I had no rashes or bumps but the scratching was leaving my legs bruised. Then I read a comment on this website and all I had to do was exfoliate my legs in the shower a couple of times a week! That's it!

I'm on my third pregnancy - 9 weeks - and my legs have been incredibly itchy, starting a week before I found out I was pregnant. Is this at all related to being pregnant? I never had this with my other two but I can't stop the itching - especially at night!
