itchy

Avatar f tn Only today did I realize that my Plica semiSomething (beside tear duct) is swollen and a little red. I just did an eye bath with eye lotion at home once yesterday and once just now, but it still itches the same. I'm worried it might be some serious eye infection and really need your advice! Thanks!
Avatar f tn The lotemax, which is a steroid, makes a lot of things better as steroids usually do allergies, dry eyes and that includes a partially blocked tear duct. Allergies do not cause the tear duct to block but the tear duct that is partially blocked can cause all the symptoms you describe. If you live in USA you can go to www.geteyesmart.
1442701 tn?1286383987 Yep, Lulu's answer is right on there. I just saw my eye doc last Thursday for the EXACT same thing, he said nothing looked wrong with the eye. He said my eye was a little dry near the tear duct and said maybe it's from all the air allergens we have going on right now (I'm in Nebraska). He gave me some regular otc eye drops and said that should help. Hope it gets better for ya soon.
Avatar f tn If your nasolacrimal duct is blocked you could have pus building up in the nasolacrimal sac and causing chronic conjuctivitis - that is the only way I could relate the tear duct to blurred vision. Ask the new doctor if the nasolacrimal duct looks ok.
Avatar m tn so for the past month or so i had been dealing with like pressure in my eyes the first week it happened it felt really weird there was a lot of discomfort when looking up and around n my eyes were sensitive to light I also had some pain in my eye like only in one spot and sometimes i could feel the pain behind my eyes when i looked up and down all the way but then it seemed to get better and I went to an optician and he looked into my eyes and said nothing was wrong but then it seemed like i was
Avatar n tn t relate the horrible red bloodshot eyes to the CPAP, but now that my eyelids are swollen, itchy and my eyes are staying red, and the only thing that's changed is I've been wearing a cpap mask for the past 8 nights...I guess that's what's happening. I called the sleep clinic, talked to a nurse and she told me to stop the cpap for a couple nights to see if it got better. I've gone one night without the cpap...and my eyes are not recovered, I'm going another night tonight.
Avatar m tn Hello for the past couple of days my eyelid has been sore and itchy near the tear duct. If I even touch it gently it make me want to rub it even more, but if i don't touch it, it will just, really itchy. Also my eye is really sore when i open it more than a certain amount. What should i do?
11195379 tn?1427921527 So I just had my Lil guy a week ago and he has what's called a tear duct any of you already mom's gone thru this and what helped your new born?
Avatar f tn There are many causes from allergies, blepharitis, block tear duct drainage, etc. Please see an ophthalmologist. Dr. O.
Avatar m tn My tear ducts start to itch as soon as i close my eyes to go to sleep and when i awake in the morning the tear ducts are inflammed and irratated. Im on FML and systane and it is helping as i use to get these symptoms during the day and now i only get them at night. However the night issues dont seem to be easing at all. Could this be a form of dry eye? What else could i try to eleviate the problems i am having?
495035 tn?1221753092 Is it one or both eyes? Do you have a history of allergies? Hope you get it sorted out and it's something easily remedied with some eye drops, like conjunctivitis.
Avatar n tn i have no tear duct in my right eye and seem to get eye infections easily the outer corner of my left eye is so itchy and sore i have never had the outer eye itchy what could it be?
645800 tn?1466860955 Never had itchy eyes, but I do know that any perceived sensation from the eyeball is actually coming from the surrounding eyelid. I used to have a cold spot in my right eye, at the tear duct.
Avatar n tn Another problem i have with my eyes is that i noticed that my tear duct is of different sizes. My left tear duct is bigger that my right tear duct. Is this a serious problem?
Avatar f tn Try having them close it with removable tear duct plugs. If it doesn't work and your eye waters they're easy to remove (except the hidden Smart Plug) don't use it use a "parasol" type.
Avatar f tn Opening the duct will make the dry eyes worse if the tear drainage duct is really plug. We use punctal plug to plug the drainage duct to keep tears on the eye surface. Dr. O.
Avatar m tn Definitely NOT psychological! I'm actually searching right now for answers to the same problem. This is the second page I've tried and so far I haven't figured it out. I thought I just got something in my eye, but about hour into trying to remove it I felt little grains of "salt" under the skin and in my tear duct. If I push a little on my tear duct I can feel them and they hurt horribly.
Avatar f tn A tear duct infection (dacryocystitis) can be very severe, cause a soft tissue infection (orbital cellulitis) and require hospitalization and IV antibiotics.
Avatar f tn I was put on different eyes drops and nothing seemed to help much. Later, I was told that it looked like my tear duct was blocked. One eye is watering most of the time. The other one does occasionally. I have not worn my contacts in several months. I was sent to an Ophthalmic Surgeon, who specializes in reconstructive eye surgery. He was able to get water to go through my tear duct, but said there is probably narrowing of it, and that is why I'm having excessive eye watering.
Avatar f tn Yet, my right eye is tearing excessively and my right eye is tearing a little bit. The inner tear duct is very itchy and sting at times.I already got another opionion and was told that it's allergies. My eyes tear so much that I have to wear sun glasses all the time or else people think I am crying. It's becoming very annoying. It's very difficult driving while your eyes are tearing all the time. Also, the light outdoors is so very bright, I have to wear very dark sunglasses.
Avatar f tn Thank you for all your help. I have been seeing a Tear Duct Specialist and he has me on Aszite drops and Erthyromycin eyelid ointment, plus Doxycycline. During my last three office visits, he has probed and irrigated my tear ducts. They have improved quite a bit. I have to continue the medications and may have to continue for a long time.
Avatar f tn or is to do with what I think was a blocked tear-duct. Should I give it more time to settle? ( I have an appointment to see the ophthalmologist in 3 weeks time), or should I see him asap?
Avatar n tn Putting a plug in a tear duct is NOT the treatment for a blocked tear duct. It's a treatment for dry eyes.
Avatar f tn I woke up this morning with my eye itching and feeling like something was in it and when I checked the tear duct in the corner of one of my eyes was protruding more into my eye than normal and there’s a clear bubble in the pink part of my eye. I’m currently putting fake tears for dry eyes in and it’s helping with the itch but I can feel the bubble whenever I blink. Any advice for what this might be?
