Common Questions and Answers about Itchy eyes at night

itchy

Avatar n tn I have been having similar symptoms, but including incipient adhesions, and it was diagnosed as a weak layer in one of the three coverings of the cornea. Treatment with onntment at night and lubricating drops during day. Failing that, laser surgery has been used successfully.
Avatar f tn It had a itchy burning sensation on the outside of my eyes. Then all of a sudden it felt like needles were poking the tear hole on the right side of my eye.( the top eye hole where tears come out) It felt like that for a few seconds then it stopped. It kept on itching so I put some hydrocortisone around my eye then went to sleep. The next morning it was gone and looked like nothing ever happened, but later on that night it happened again around the same time... Around 5pm to 11pm.
Avatar f tn Yea like now I have a choice of either being blinded by tears every night and have itchy red eyes all the time or going broke. This is not as bad as some medications that are needed to sustain life but still at my age 64 I really should not be in this position when we pay the highest premium ever for insurance thru my husbands retirement plan. I understand your frustration since with my previous insurance my copay was $33 a month and that was a year ago. WTH happened in a year.?
645800 tn?1466864555 If the itchy eyeballs precedes the burning and watering and it's also happening at different times and not everyday, to me it actually sounds like it 'could be' an allergic reaction to something eg pollen, grasses, dust, animal, medication, aircon/heating etc.
Avatar n tn It lasted up to almost my end of the medications and treatment term. My eyes started out around the second month of being very dry and itchy; dry and itchy on the outside skin around my eyes. I didn't have trouble with my vision or inside of my eyes, at that point. About the 5th month of the meds, the itchy skin and very dry skin was still a problem. My GI prescribed Elidel cream, which helped somewhat but not completely.
Avatar m tn My problem is the inside corners of them (where that little bump is, not the white of the eye) itches like mad. Its most itchy at night and in the morning, during the day it isnt as bad. If i itch it it gets much much worse and lasts longer to. I clean and scrub my eye lids to keep them clean but obviously cant clean the inside corner. Could this be an allergy or something else as i just dont know.
Avatar n tn I have redness and dry skin on my eyelids which burn terribly, I also have the same problem on my lip area and it itches on my neck..I can cover it mostly with make up. But at night when i wash my face it swells and burns sooo badly! Help me please?? My pcp gave me some steroid cream which obviously did not work.. please I'm actually in tears everynight because i don't know what to do..I put vaseline on it thick but it never soothes it or helps it..I'm at the end of my rope..
Avatar n tn I suffer from severely itchy face, particularly around eyes. It lasts several months. It is only around the area I live, not just at my home but within about 40km radius of our town. My face and eyes become unbearably itchy. I cannot bear to have a strand of hair touching my face and must slick it back off my face every day and night. At its very worst (which it gradually builds up to) my vision becomes blurred and double vision and cannot read or see details.
Avatar n tn Are there some tests to figure out just what the hell is going on with my eyes? Can dry eyes really just come on over night like that? Should I be worried about any other kinds of viruses or bacterias that the antibiotic might have missed during immediate treatment? Im so lost and in pain right now and I m thinking that i need to leave the middle east and see a doctor statesidethat knows what the hell is going on. Im getting scared about my eyes, my appearance, and vision loss.
Avatar m tn There are many conditions that cause itching only at night - but as it hasn't subsided after ten months, you should probably see a dermatologist. I'm assuming you keep clean and dry downstairs, that it's not related to excessive sweating. I'd probably try washing in the morning, before bed - I'd be tempted to use a medicated jock/foot powder/spray for a couple nights and see if that allows it to subside (don't think it's going to hurt).
Avatar n tn what you do everyday to see for sure what is different on days you are itchy .. that is what a doctor will tell you to do. It sounds like allergies to either food or another thing that was used on that day that you are not using everday.. or maybe a medicine being taken that doesn't mix with something you maybe mixing with not knowing it .. think really hard about these things and I promise you will find your answer ..
606428 tn?1220238336 My girlfriend cant sleep good at night and I cant sleep at all. All of you are right about how to treat it and im going to tell you why. I just figured it out after I saw these posts and talked to a random person that i knew. I did alot of research and if you dont believe me you can look it up as far and long as you want and it will all come back to one thing! SULFATE! We are all allergic to sulfate! Wo wo wo I now your all screaming for more.. so ill feed you baby birds!
Avatar n tn Now I've covered the area in bandaids and it's helped a bit. At night I put on the GODSEND lotion. If you have a REALLY bad itch somewhere - try using Hydrocortizone .1% on that area just like you would for a child with chickenpox. That, in effect, is exactly what I consider these stupid things they itch so much! And don't forget the water that helps with everything.
Avatar f tn Watery squelching ears at night. Flaky and itchy throughout the day. Very uncomfortable and embarrassing. It's worse in change of weather. My ENT told me it was eczema. So he told me to apply canasten in my ear canal. Wasn't so keen so used homeopathic 'cakendulon' by Weleda.it was better with it. I recently had a patch of eczema on my leg which just wouldn't go- in fact it got worse. I went to an allergy specialist. Took pin-prick and patch tests.
Avatar f tn --which is good news, but this swelling around the eyes is serious. (It's not IN his eyes at all, it's the skin around---I think I made that clear.) Anyhow, I did buy a cold pack that he can wrap around his whole head, to cool his eyes, and I don't dare put any kind of cream or anything else on the skin, but I feel so bad for him.
Avatar m tn For about four days now, my eyes have been feeling itchy and i constantly feel the need to widen my eyes with my fingers as if my eyes want to close and as if there's some sort of gunk in my eye, but when I check it, there's nothing there. Also at night, my eyelids feel extremely heavy and its forcing me to sleep early because I can't keep my eyes open. I also get constant twitching in my right eye, in the area under my eye.

Avatar f tn I've cleaned all makeup brushes, stopped using the eyecream I was using, am avoiding applying anything to the area at this point and nothing seems to be working. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night and had this excessive burning and itching in my palms that has yet to go away and have more hives around my eyes than usuall.

Avatar n tn Sneezing Runny or stuffy nose Cough and postnasal drip Itchy eyes, nose and throat Watery eyes The problem, I am have with the symptons of mols is it did not give me enough information.
Avatar n tn I've had the same symptoms as most of you, swollen and itchy eyes and lips that comes and goes. My whole face was also itchy. My fingertips have little bumps all over them. I have not changed anything in my diet or cosmetics. I went to the doctor and she said I have eczema and gave me Desonide cream for it. This helped a lot for the itchy face but all the other symptoms(swollen and itchy eyes and lips, and bumpy fingertips) have returned.
Avatar f tn (Terrible sentence, sorry) While doing this some of my eyelashes come out with it, but not to the point where I would be super concerned. My eye also has kind of a light redness at the base of the upper lid. But there's more. At night when I get tired my left eye gets REALLY scratchy. Not itchy, just scratchy and red. I've already taken my contacts off at this point, so I know it's not the contacts.
Avatar m tn I did not have eye issues before treatment.....very dry itchy eyes during treatment. I use artificial tears drops...and at night, a gel. I don't know I'd this is a symptom of Hep C or not. Others may weigh in. If it persists, though, I would suggest a visit with an ophthalmologist.
Avatar m tn For a day my eyes were EXTREMELY red with yellowish discharge and endless tears. I took benadryl that night and went to sleep. My eyes were fine after that and the redness dissapeared eventually. My doctor prescribed vigamox which I used for a week. But my medical insurance expired and I stopped. However, ever since my eyes have been very mildly itchy/burning. Its not an uncomfortable burning...more like when you dont get enough sleep.
2064241 tn?1331001644 Sunscreen directly on your eyelids during the day 2. Aquaphor or a good night cream at night 3. Wear a hat, if need be 4. Make sure to drink plenty of water (as it could be a sign of dehydration) 5.
Avatar n tn In the meantime, I have begun to develop what I think is a sinus infection just after having a cold. Painful jaw and teeth, sinus pressure under my eyes, itchy ears, and mildly swollen (tingly) lymph nodes below my jawline. In addition, I have woken up a couple of nights sweating. Not drenched, but my body is moist and I feel both hot and cold at once. All of this has caused me great anxiety and I've panicked over it .. losing sleep, stressing during the day, etc.
