Itchy eyes and eyelids

Common Questions and Answers about Itchy eyes and eyelids

itchy

Avatar f tn Hi Doctor, I went to my optometrist today to discuss my eyes and eyelids. He said that i had inflamed ducts under my eyelids. He told me to use salt and water and rinse in an eye bath. But on returning home my eyes seemed to swell up more. It's not the eyelids that i'm entirely concerned with, it the areas under my eyebrow and and above my eyelids that worry me. The skin seems to be stretched and loose and yellow in colour. Does this sound like any symptoms you know of.
Avatar n tn almost swollen shut and my eyelids are itchy and scaly. I took allergy medicine but nothing seems to help. What could this be from and how do I remedy it?
Avatar f tn Hi. I'm no doc, but sounds like allergies. Have you tried an antihistimene? I know my eyes get itchy due to allergies - it comes and goes and never amounts to anything. Just annoying. And I'm not dx with any allergies - i just know I have seasonal due to the way my body acts. Good luck .
Avatar f tn I used a washcloth compress to get the swelling down and the eyes continued to be red and swollen and itchy and I noticed little blisters kind of like what I get when I wear cheap jewelry and get a chemical reaction from the metal. I have tried some Zatidor eyedrops-antihistime twice daily. It does seem to help a little inside the eye (very little).
Avatar n tn In the evening my eyes get red (about 6 pm). They are a bit itchy. And one of my eyes vision is blury. What is it? Is it serious? How to cure it? I would be very thankful if anyone could answer me.
Avatar f tn I had this same problem when I was on Accutane, but it went away once i was off the drug. Now it is back and I have been off accutane for over a year. My eyes are not itchy, and there is no discharge to indicate pink-eye. I was tested by an allergist for enviornmental and food allergies and all were negative. I have switched my eye cream and eye make-up in case it was related, but it is still not better. Suggestions?
Avatar f tn What is the cause of itchy and red dry skin around the eyes; also the skin flakes off. Uncomfortable condition.

Avatar n tn Not certain about the white bumps but red itchy eyes maybe allergy or pink eye(conjunctivitis ) He may need a med so it would be best to show the doctor .We also have an eye care forum on Med Help may have other ideas. check it out ..
Avatar f tn Over the past few weeks I’ve developed a very dry texture irritation on my lips and my eyelids and certain parts of my face. These areas are never red but can be itchy at times. And it does cause my eyes to swell/puff up. The texture is hardly visible to the naked eye, mostly by touch. On my lips I notice it most when I rub them together or feel them with my tongue and it makes my lips feel chapped and nothing soothes them. What is this??
Avatar m tn I have been suffering from eczema on my eyelids for years and, recently, I have discovered that the application of a small amount of Gold Bond Body Lotion (http://****.com/largeimage/GoldBondMedicatedExtraStrengthBodyLotion14OunceBottleKqL.jpg) heals the problem if I use it daily. I do not get it in my eyes, but it does cause the tingling sensation associated with Menthol on my eyelids (sometimes my eyes water, but it does not get into my eye). The lotion contains 0.
Avatar n tn Itchy, flaky, red (and puffy) skin in patches around my eyelids, on/in my ears and on my nipples and even at the corner of my mouth that, at the most severe, was very painful and would crack and bleed (did not notice anything around the groin). I became incredibly frustrated, with my eyes looking so bad and hurting so much it was a mission just to leave the house. I went to a doctor who prescribed a Betnesol cream. Within a day the condition was markedly better.
1699538 tn?1306942986 i have red and itchy and swollen eyelids. I have it for about a month and when to the clinic got cream but if got more swollen and red. The itchy is stating to go to my lower part of my face. This is my first time with this.
1008856 tn?1250634650 Sometimes the night before it happens they get real dry and itchy. I figured it was my pillows since I normally use Febreze Allergen Reducer and had changed the brand, so I switched back to Febreze. I also washed my bedding and pillow cases to help.
Avatar n tn Then it can be conjunctivitis (bacterial, viral or fungal) It can also be due to Allergies, including seasonal allergies or hay fever or due to Chemical irritants (such as chlorine in a swimming pool or makeup) You should a apply cool compresses to soothe itching, apply warm soaks to soften crusts on the eyelids and lashes, then gently wipe the eyes with a soft gauze pad. Taking antihistamine eye drops and refrigerated artificial tears also help.

Avatar m tn t know me. This is because my eyelids and eyes are both very red, and it throws people off. A few months back i went to an eye doctor, and he diagnosed me with Blepharitis... After 5+ visits, none of his suggestions were helping, and i was having minimal improvement in my eye conditions. All the things that I have tried based on his reccomendations are...
Avatar n tn My eyes also seem to show signs of conjunctival hyperemia and my eyelids sometimes seem to turn a bit red along the linings which i suspect to be blepharitis. Will all these symptoms decrease in intensity and frequency as my body gets used to the drug? Lastly, will the BAC preservative in Xalatan cause any ill effects to my dry eyes or corneal health in the long term. Thank you.
Avatar f tn ll feel like the outer layer in my eyes were pulled along with my eyelids and eyes will start watering. This will last for few seconds and then only it will be ok. I donno whether I have HSV I in my eyes. I want to know among these indications which are all related to HSV I ? If I have it what are the possible ways of infecting others? If I have a swelling in eye lids or eye irritation or itching and at the same time if somebody is kissing on my eyes, will they get infected?
Avatar m tn We cannot rule out the exact cause without examination. If infection suspected, you need cleaning of eyes and antibiotic drops in eye with oral antibiotic treatment against prescription. Allergic conjunctivitis needs antihistamines and also corticosteroids in severe cases. I suggest you to consult ophthalmologist/physician for further evaluation without delay. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn I am left with scaley, sagging skin above and below my eyes, and bags of fluid that collect under my eyes right above my cheek bones. My skin responds as though it has been burned by crusting over and collecting fluid. It's painful and the only thing that helps is cortisone shots, which I don't want to take the rest of my life. Please help me with some direction as to what kind of physician I should see and what my condition might possibly be.
645800 tn?1466860955 Hi Dennis, From what i'm aware, itching, burning and watery eyeballs would generally be the more common signs of allergy or infection. If the itchy eyeballs precedes the burning and watering and it's also happening at different times and not everyday, to me it actually sounds like it 'could be' an allergic reaction to something eg pollen, grasses, dust, animal, medication, aircon/heating etc.
Avatar f tn I had been suffering from a skin allergy around my eyes that made my skin extrrmely dry, itchy and flaky. After using a million ointments, i was prescribed DESONIDE LOTION by my doctor. The allergy reduced considerbly, however, the skin around my eyes has become quite dark. It makes my eyes look worn out and dull. The colour of my eyelids is uneven with certain areas darker than the other. Is there anything i can do about it? Please help me out.
Avatar f tn I forgot myself and ate a few toasted pine nuts a few days later and within 15 minutes my eyelids were red, itchy and swelling again. Another couple weeks passed without incident until I ate peanut butter this past Sunday. I was at the bottom of a container of fresh ground peanut butter. Within 15 minutes of eating, eye symptoms started again. I now have an epi-pen and will be going for bloodwork to test for tree nut and peanut allergies this week. Just another note to all.
Avatar m tn When I returned it was back to the same routine of swollen itchy eyes that swell up and down on a weekly basis. This year we went away for 3 and a half weeks and same thing it completely cleared up in 3 days but as soon as we returned it was back within 2 days. It is obviously something in our house I am reacting to. Has anyone else come to this conclusion and what have they done to help with the problem?
Avatar f tn The only eyelashes that I ever pull out are a few that grow into my eye at the corner of my eye lids closesy to my nose. The rest twitch and itch and fall out, and my eyelids are about three times more swollen then they use to be.... I also have issues with feeling like I have foriegn objects in my eyes and little white cysts around where my eyelashes come out of my eyelids.
Avatar n tn ve noticed that my eyelids have been unusually dry and itchy - Now they are constantly peeling (both the upper and lower lid) and still very itchy and super red (it looks like I've been slugged in the eyes). I read online that I should do a warm compress and then scrub the skin with baby wash and then use aveeno, but that hasn't been working at all - I'm so embarrassed by it, I don't like going out..yet I'm going on vacation in a 8 days and would like to have this cleared up.
Avatar f tn By far the most common cause is "blepharitis" also known as "granulated eyelids". use the search feature and archives to read about. Try and get her in to a medical eye doctor ophthalmologist (Eye MD) for a definitive diagnosis and to begin therapy.
