There must be some home-regiments that can be tried, but as my experience is with dogs I'll not suggest any here... may be much the same.
Cleaning is the best first step, not sure what to use on a cat/kitten.

I have a 4 month old cockapoo who has chronic itchy ears. We've been to the vet twice who says there is no infection or mites. I have been using witch hazel ear wipes that don't seem to help. I'm thinking it is allergy related. What are the ingredients I should be looking at eliminating? She is very finicky. I've yet to find a food she likes. She doesn't like any treats, other than cheese. Could the cheese be an allergen? Any help would be appreciated.
ve read that a lot of people with itchy ears tend to have dry skin fall out when they scratch, but that never happened with me. Eventually the itching was unbearable, and sweet-smelling fluid started coming out of my ears. Also, when I ate or chewed, my ears would burn like crazy! It felt like the inside of my ears were on fire.
My primary care doctor prescribed me special oil, which didn't help.
Does anyone else think these itchy crusty ears are related to nerves? I had severe itchy ear problems when I was taking finals and moving off to college.. now, 40 years later with my husband very sick it is recurring. Q-tips provide relief but add to the watery problem. I have found that LANOLIN works really well for softening the crusting and also the itch. I've had to use otic neosporin for infections that result from my endless digging.
Hi, I have had exactly the same: itchy nose (around the nostrils), eyebrows and ears. This first started when I shot a rabbit but did not kill it. I had to pick it up to wring its neck. I then noticed this facial itching which lasted for a few days. It was unbearable but the most effective treatment was washing head face and neck many times a day with Head and Shoulders shampoo. I also used a flannel to get a deep as possible into my skin.
I have had itchy, flaking, draining ears ever since swimming in a pool down at DisneyLand 25 years ago. I would use the prescription antibiotics drops, which would relieve the problem for a little while, but then the whole thing would start over again. Recently I have used two new product that seem to be the answer. Don't laugh but there is a non-prescription otic solution used on dogs with the same types of symptons called ZYMOX with hydrocortisone (Amazon.com).

I am a 14 year old male. I have had very itchy ears for a few years and I always rubbed and scratched them. This irritated them, and in recent times I have noticed a slight decrease in hearing. Every now and then I have a ringing in my ears. I think it's caused by the damage I caused to my ears. I'm scared and am trying to stop irritating my ears so no more damage occurs. But it just itches so much! How do I deal with the itching? Is there any way to heal the damage caused?

Hello, I have been having a problem with my throat and ears for a long time, my throat is red and kinda swollen and it doesent go away for a really long time its like when u get cold and ur throat is swollen, its red and itchy and my ears are so itchy too. I have realized that some certain foods make my throat burn like spicy food or stuff with vitamin c, its also sensitive to dust and flour dust. Im 22 years old and im kinda getting worried that i might have cancer.

For several years I have had a sort of swimmers ear, with itchy, weepy skin inside my left ear canal. Sometimes cortizone cream will help relieve it for awhile but it always returns again. Now, I seam to have this same condition around my rectum (and hemmoroids). It is VERY VERY itchy and disturbs my sleep . After scratching the area it weeps . Do you have any remedies? I have used cortizone cream but it does not work for long.
t use the ones that you poke in your ears because my ears are sore an regular head phones make my ears hot and itchy. I am looking for advice on headphones that promote healthy ears for people with a weakness for ear infections.
I don't want a full occupational health assessment because they cost a lot of money and I know my company will pay for the headphones I need.

A week ago I went to see a doctor to check my ears. She said everything was ok and helped me clean both of my ears with what looked like long teasers. She pulled out quite a bit of ear wax which, to my surprise, was dark brown in colour. The ear wax was in both right and left ear though the left one never caused any problems. She told me everything was fine and that I should avoid getting water into my ears (I rarely swim though).
Now, one week later, my ear is still very itchy.
Every now and then I notice that my earlobes get blotchy. It happens a lot more on my left earlobe but it does have a little on my right one. It is only on the earlobe..not on any other part of my ear. It doesnt hurt at all it just looks very red and blotchy. It almost looks like a hickey, but I promise it's not! It lasts for a few days and comes and goes weeks at a time. My ears are not peirced right now...they got infected and closed up years ago.
Itchy head, in the hair, around the ears only. I have no visible irritation on my scalp. The itching feels more like an occasional crawling than an itching on the skin's surface. This itch is not constant, but occurs consistantly throughout the day. I use hair color. I have no health problems aside from 2-3 migraines monthly and mild anemia. This has been happening for about a year. Any ideas as to what I should check into for a remedy? Thanks in advance for the help.
it's only in my ears very dry skin and sometimes itchy i've been using moisturizers and other creams nothing seems to help
