Avatar m tn Also do research on Isotretinoin. It is also used to treat some cancers. There is also people on the site who have mentioned that they have developed Acquired Cutaneous adherence syndrome known as stick skin syndrome since they have had treatments for their cancer.
Avatar f tn This is an excellent question. Vitamins and isotretinoin can be tricky. B12 in general can actually be traced to acne flare ups. Isotretinoin can decrease B12 levels. Low B12 can be problematic. But generally is isn't recommended (B12) to be taken with Isotretinoin very often. I am glad you are followed by a doctor, is he the one who prescribed the isotretinioin? And why are you having the B12 added? I would talk to them about it as well as ask your usual pharmacist.
Avatar m tn As you can see on the photos, these are some red bumps [and 99% of them are filled with white pus] that often hurt. I had cultures done back in 2008 and it showed only regular propionibacterium acnes type I. I tried few treatments: my first treatment was Doxycycline [3 months 100 mg every other day] it helped me instantly and cleared 100% my scalp. But right after I finished taking doxycycline problem came back in full force.

634590 tn?1293774093 i want to discuss with you all my problem. As you know i took 20mg isotretinoin for 15 days and pain started in my right hip joint. Went to Arthopedic and he said it is infection. im now on antibiotics (one week on IV augmenten + oxidil and then on ciprofloxacin 500 twice) for last 5 weeks. Today i suddenly feel same kind of pain in my left groin (front of hip joint) . im wondering if there was infection in right hip joint how can that infection travel to my left joint even im on antibiotics.
309783 tn?1271958229 m not aware of this use of isotretinoin. I do know that the manufacturer does not recommend long-term, low-dose isotretinoin, and there is little or no scientific literature bearing on the subject of long-term low-dose use of this drug. You might consider a short course of isotretinoin, antibiotic treatment, or laser therapy. Best. Dr.
Avatar n tn I have been to 3 doctors and no one can tell me what it wrong with my face. I have had to help aside from a witch doctor trying to tell me I had a hex put on me but even her remedy didn't help (im desperate). I was wondering if it could be a staph/bacterial/fungal infection?
Avatar m tn I have been using Isotretinoin since July 2021, and the cumulative dosage is about 100mg/kg. After I stopped using Isotretinoin, I found that my eyes were very dry, and it has been maintained for about a month and a half. I know that Isotretinoin can inhibit the secretion of body oil. I want to know whether the drug's inhibition of sebaceous glands is permanent? Will the secretion of oil recover slowly over time? Permanent dry eye is a disaster for me.
Avatar m tn Hello. I had unprotected sex with two CSWs of unknown status. I got a rapid test at 6 weeks, the result was non-reactive, and another rapid test at 9 weeks, the result was non-reactive. Both rapid tests used finger-picking method. Is this a good indicator of my 13 weeks result? CDC recommended to test at 3 months and even up to 6 months, should I keep testing until 6 months after the exposure? Thank you.
309783 tn?1271958229 He writes that low-dose isotretinoin resolves papules and pustles in difficult to treat rosacea, with very mild to no erythema. This therapy also seems to resolve telangiectasias "which is surprising because we know the retinoids have been reported to induce angiogenesis". I would be interested to hear from anyone with rosacea which did not respond to standard treatments (oxytetracycline/metronidozole/clindamycin) who was subsequently treated in this way.
Avatar n tn maintenance doses of oral isotretinoin in the range of 10-40 mg every other day or 0.05% isotretinoin gel is rarely indicated as a suppressive treatment for widespread disfiguring sebaceous hyperplasia. Oral isotretinoin should be prescribed by a physician who is experienced in oral retinoid therapy and only for patients without contraindications.
Avatar n tn Cheilitis is associated with many conditions from Vitamin B12 deficiency, iron deficiency anemia, be a symptom of allergies.can also be caused by taking the (retinoid) drug Isotretinoin (brand name Roaccutane). Applying protective paraffin-based ointment (such as Vaseline) or lip balms to the lips is normally very effective. Also take Vitamin B supplements. Some causes of the symptoms you mention, could be lip biting, lip licking, Vit.
Avatar m tn Again I consult with second, he prescribed me mentioned above, But I read from Internet that Isotretinoin has many side effects including hair fall, so I neglect that dosage of Isotretinoin by afraid , only azithromycin took for 6 days. Pimples are reduced to some extent but they are leaving scars on face. Is HH fudic cream will work for both pimples and scars ? Dosage of Minoz 50 (minocycline) will work for me if I takes this 20 days, is it good for health to take it in 6 months for 20 days ?
Avatar n tn A friend of mine at work was taking tetracycline when she became pregant and all is well with her little guy....(The only example that I have...sorry)... Lots of luck!
Avatar f tn Liver Function Tests or LFT does not indicate a recent intake of alcohol,it just determines the liver function enzymes values such as ALT and AST.Alcohol levels in blood can be determined by Alcohol breath test or by urinalysis. Although LFT determines the value of ALT and AST, it does not indicate the function of liver, but these values indicate the level of damage to liver,so you can call this test as Liver Damage Test.
Avatar n tn Hi, The symptoms you describe could be due to everyday causes such as anger, the food you eat, alcohol, menopause, dehydration, etc. This could also be - Rosacea; once the above causes have been ruled out. Rosacea is a cutaneous disorder primarily of convexities of the central part of the FACE, such as FOREHEAD; CHEEK; NOSE; and CHIN. It is characterized by FLUSHING; ERYTHEMA; EDEMA; RHINOPHYMA; papules; and ocular symptoms.
Avatar m tn You do not need to be concerned. It has been shown conclusively that isotretinoin, the active ingredient in Decutan, does not cause birth defects in sexual partners of men taking this drug, despite the fact that minute amounts have been found in semen. Best. Dr.
Avatar m tn 3) Can i use X5 hair laser and Isotretinoin in the same period ??? Cause I read that isotretinoin produces photosensitivity and I would not suffer irritation or problems to the scalp. Thank you for the attention . I'm sorry for my bad english . I hope that you have understand my problems !!!
Avatar m tn My body fat went from around 15 % to under 8 % after taking accutane. I am extremely thin now and cannot put on weight on no matter how much I eat or what I eat. For example I can eat a whole tub of ice-cream and has no affect on my body. I have read about others have this issue also. Isotretinoin (accutane) obviously messed up something in my body so that it doesn't metabolize or absorb food the way it did pre-accutane. If anyone has any knowledge in this area plz respond. ty.
Avatar n tn Hello, Oratane capsules contain a medication known as isotretinoin. Isotretinoin is often a cure for acne. You can take oratane after 3 weeks after miscarriage but Oratane causes birth defects and must absolutely not be used by pregnant women or by women who intend to become pregnant. Hence the time you are taking oratane , you should not fall pregnant.
Avatar f tn 5 weeks pregnant and I have been taking the isotretinoin drug for my acne. Abortion is higly recommended since isotretinoin can cause severe defects on the baby. Wondering if taking abortion pills is safe and effective. Please help.
Avatar f tn I was also on acne treatment when I was younger. Roaccutane which contains Isotretinoin she is also on Isotretinoin, now here is a possible connection. Isotretinoin is also used to treat some cancers. There was a male on this forum who said he developed sticky skin after cancer treatment. Isotretinoin is a retinoid, related to Vitamin A. Overdose of vit A has its own side effects. I am still in extensive research mode, so maybe investigate all this and see if you can relate to anything.
Avatar m tn He scheduled a blood test for me that he said tested for CBC (Complete Blood Count), Liver function and Kidney function because he wanted me to go on acne medication that required these tests (Isotretinoin). He also gave me some antibiotics to clear up sinus. I asked him if he thought this might be lymphoma and he said it is very unlikely since I have an obvious infection on my face (severe acne) plus the fact I have sinus infection.
Avatar f tn Hi, thanks for anwering. My face gets red when I take hot showers, when I change from a cool setting to a warm setting. I have some old acne dark spots and they get darker when I blush. I feel my face warm and honestly, it is very uncomfortable. I have tried avoiding the sun, I have even taken claritin thinking it could be an allergy. I do not know what to do. I was told that maybe I have Physical Urticaria, but I have researched and yes although I have some symptoms, I never itch.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know about the scarring after-effects of accutane? I've read several reports of scarring left after it's use. I'm sure that scars are to be expected, as with any open wound, but I don't know if these reports are by anyone with abnormalities with healing/scarring. Here is the situation... I have mild, maybe slightly moderate acne. I get keloids on other parts of my body, but thankfully not my face. I still get abnormal facial scarring though.
