Avatar n tn maintenance doses of oral isotretinoin in the range of 10-40 mg every other day or 0.05% isotretinoin gel is rarely indicated as a suppressive treatment for widespread disfiguring sebaceous hyperplasia. Oral isotretinoin should be prescribed by a physician who is experienced in oral retinoid therapy and only for patients without contraindications.
Avatar m tn since isotretinoin is also a drug used for some cancer/chemo treatment, will that delay the development of hiv antibody?
309783 tn?1271958229 m not aware of this use of isotretinoin. I do know that the manufacturer does not recommend long-term, low-dose isotretinoin, and there is little or no scientific literature bearing on the subject of long-term low-dose use of this drug. You might consider a short course of isotretinoin, antibiotic treatment, or laser therapy. Best. Dr.

Accutane is strong medicine for acne cure but can have serious side effects.
Avatar f tn Hi, A daily oral intake of vitamin A derivative isotretinoin (marketed as Accutane) over a period of 4-6 months can cause long-term resolution or reduction of acne. It is believed that isotretinoin works primarily by reducing the secretion of oils from the glands, however some studies suggest that it affects other acne-related factors as well. Isotretinoin has been shown to be very effective in treating severe acne and can either improve or clear well over 80% of patients.
Avatar f tn I am aware that dapsone gel is effective, though my experience in this is a trifle limited.Do consult and verify.
Avatar m tn 3 weeks ago I had my 1st eye infection of my entire life in my right eye so I went to an opthamalogist and he told me to stop taking the accutane for a week (which is what he says caused the infection) and put me on doxyclince hyclate 100mg twice a day and eurithromyocin gel to put on my eyelid that knocked the infection out.
Avatar m tn 3) Is there another product i can use - a moisturizer or aloe vera gel for eg? - that will help reduce the redness and wont cause me to break out. The Derm i saw recommended Cetaphyl lotion, which i have tried but it leaves my skin feeling a bit greasy and isnt as effective as Neutrogena in not causing me to break out. 4) How long do i need to use Isotrex for? Will i break out if i stop using? Are there any dangers for long term use? i hope this might help others in the same position.
Avatar m tn I asked my dermatologist and she told me that the stickiness will go away on 2 or 3 days after i am done taking isotretinoin. Has anyone else experience this? Did it go away? Can someone please help!

Avatar f tn If still the lumps persist then specific treatment like antibiotics, vit A supplements, corticosteroid injections, isotretinoin, antiandrogens and sometimes excision and drainage ,laser therapy and radiotherapy are found useful.I feel that you should consult a dermatologist and discuss these options with him. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar m tn I have been using Isotretinoin since July 2021, and the cumulative dosage is about 100mg/kg. After I stopped using Isotretinoin, I found that my eyes were very dry, and it has been maintained for about a month and a half. I know that Isotretinoin can inhibit the secretion of body oil. I want to know whether the drug's inhibition of sebaceous glands is permanent? Will the secretion of oil recover slowly over time? Permanent dry eye is a disaster for me.
Avatar n tn Hi, I've just started taking isotretinoin 30 mg. per day. After taking the first pill, I've gotten ringing in my right ear and loud buzzing or roaring in the left. I've had ongoing tinnitus which I've been taking supplements for. I'm concerned because my tinnitus has always occurred only at night when I'm lying down and it has never been this loud and persistent throughout the day.
