309783 tn?1271958229 Hi. My dermatologist recommends long term low dose oral Isotretinoin for resistant rosacea co-existing with adult acne (there is no risk of pregnancy). He says this will reduce telangiectasias and redness. I thought retinoids made telangiectasias and redness worse? Or is that just topical retinoids? I would value your advice. Thanks, Eloise.
Avatar n tn Thank you so much for your reply. I've looked online at infections (staph, fungal, bacterial) and also at rosacea, it doesn't look the same. Like I said I've been to 3 doctors and they didn't know or didn't care because they kind of just pushed me out. I've had the topical creams (isotretinoin) for redness and different pills for acne (Nothing Has Helped) at all, I get dry but nothing fades or changes, even after months of usage. I look like i have a mask cheeks and chin.
Avatar f tn There are some really effective products for Rosacea and facial redness available without prescription. My favorites are Clinique's Redness Solutions Range, Eucerin's Redness Relief range and La Roche-Posay's Rosaliac range. I experienced facial redness after using oral Isotretinoin for acne. I cleared this with over-the-counter products. See my pictures in my profile. Avoid potential triggers where possible.
Avatar n tn I am 28 and have had rosacea for about 1 year now. My skin is severely dry, tight and flaky. My cheecks are always extremely red. Rosacea sufferers are not supposed to use exfoliaters, so how am i supposed to get rid of the dry flaky skin? I cant use cover up because it only highlights the dead skin and i dont like going out in public with my skin all red and flaky. HELP. I dont want to take antibiotics. Does anyone know of any natural remedies?
Avatar m tn Sunscreens, particularly those that protect against ultraviolet A and B light waves and have a sun-protecting factor (SPF) of 13 or higher, are recommended for all people with rosacea. If the symptoms persist or are associated with any other symptom like fatigue, joint pains etc then SLE has to be ruled out. Hope it helps .Take care and pls do keep us posted in case you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a rash in my left armpit that started out as small bumps then began to grow into scaly patches. These scaly patches then grew into patches that resemble a scab like if you scraped your elbow or knees (brownish in color and firm). Eventually, these would fall off leaving normal skin underneath only to have it happen again shortly after. I saw a dermotologist who said it looked like seborrhea and prescribed Clarifoam EF and Oxistat.

Avatar f tn I am a 25 year old female. I am on isotretinoin for acne. But recently my general physician prescribed vitamin B-complex supplements for other health problems. Is it safe to take vitamin B-Complex capsules with isotretinoin? I am not any other medication.
Avatar f tn Has anyone taking isotretinoin?.i know there is a risk ov depression,I'm on my 6th day today ov taking them and don't feel too great.i feel quite low but really agitated, can't switch off and can't keep still.do u think its because ov these meds or just a coincidence?
Avatar m tn After I stopped using Isotretinoin, I found that my eyes were very dry, and it has been maintained for about a month and a half. I know that Isotretinoin can inhibit the secretion of body oil. I want to know whether the drug's inhibition of sebaceous glands is permanent? Will the secretion of oil recover slowly over time? Permanent dry eye is a disaster for me.
634590 tn?1293774093 i want to discuss with you all my problem. As you know i took 20mg isotretinoin for 15 days and pain started in my right hip joint. Went to Arthopedic and he said it is infection. im now on antibiotics (one week on IV augmenten + oxidil and then on ciprofloxacin 500 twice) for last 5 weeks. Today i suddenly feel same kind of pain in my left groin (front of hip joint) . im wondering if there was infection in right hip joint how can that infection travel to my left joint even im on antibiotics.
Avatar m tn thanks james. i also took isotretinoin for treatment of body acne. since isotretinoin is also a drug used for some cancer/chemo treatment, will that delay the development of hiv antibody?
Avatar n tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be rosacea. Rosacea is a cutaneous disorder primarily of convexities of the central part of the face , such as forehead; cheeks ;nose; and chin. Pimples are sometimes included as part of the definition. Treatment options vary from antibiotic creams, antihistaminics, sun screens to laser treatment.A dermatologist’s evaluation will be the best. Hope it helps.
