27 day ago i had a condom broke in a glory hole in an anal encounter being i the receptive (pasive, bottom???) and the other man finish (cum???) inside me..... In 4 hour i start PEP with Truvada + Isentress. I dont know the other man vih status. Today 27 days later i've do a DUO TEST (combo) with antigen p24 + vih +vih2. Results are NEGATIVE, but, is this results decisives?????
I had a sexual encounter and they have put me on truvada and isentress for 4 weeks. It is one week over but I have very bad stomach. I usually have a chronic gastritis due to helyco bacter that I have not managed so far to get rid of.
My doctor said I could take Nexium 20 which is my usual medication for this matter but to try no to take it everyday beacaus of interaction with isentress but he is gone on vacation now and I have a really upset stomach and I dont know what to do.

She added a Isentress (raltegravir) to my Pep treatment. But I could realized that she was quite worried because I had had only Truvada in the begining of my treatment and in the very deadline edge.
Hello - I understand that oral with a person who is HIV+ is low risk, but would it be a good idea to take PEP anyway? My concern is the side effects of the Isentress and Truvada combination. I have the medication, but if infection is very highly unlikely, I think I shouldn't. Friends are telling me not to worry and doctor says it is up to me (which I know). Opinions?

ll be the instance of acquiring HIV with such superficial and brief possible penetration. I began PEP treatment (Truvada and Isentress) within 48 hours. He never ejaculated throughout the night and I didn't feel pre cum at any time but I know that doesn't mean pre cum wasn't there.
Am I at potential risk for HIV transmission given he fingered me and may have caused potential tiny cuts combined with the brief/minimal possibility of penetration?

I began taking truvada and isentress 65 hours after my potential exposure to HIV and I have taken them for 4 days. But I did not take them at the exact same time everyday. But I am sure I was never late or early by more than 1 hour. Will the effectiveness get affected by this? And is 65 hours too late for PEP? How likely will PEP fail in my case???
I am currently taking truvada and isentress (raltegravir) is this enough I couldn't get my prescription for dolutegravir filled...is this pep enough?
Your doctor is following out date procedure. The new procedure is Truvada + Isentress. The procedure he is following I believe was written in 2003.
You may wish to discuss with him why he is following out of date guidelines.
Also if there is any concern the test this early stage would not be 4th gen, it would be PCR or NAAT, according to the new guidelines (2010) for PEP.
I think you should consider getting a 2nd opinion on how to proceed with your PEP.
I read somewhere that there are reports out there that Truvada along can clear hbsag at around 10% per year. Which is if true makes it the best antiviral option for us from what is available.
Lets share ideas on this.
The way I see it it is a powerful combo for hbv. 200mg of tdf and 200 emtricitabine.
