I was fairly confident I had no risk, but her tongue piercing is what worries me know as the next day I felt it was very sore underneathe my tongue (as if it was cut and the wound was healing). I will test at 3 months to ease my fears, although Im worried the doctor wont even test me because of the apparent low risk factor.

hi im 30 weeks and 3 days is it ok if a get a tongue piercing?

t think it will close up real fast. They use a hollow needle and remove everything where the piercing is so I'm not sure if it'll fully close at all. I think I'll take it out right before labor, and ask my fiance to stick the piercing through shortly after labor to make sure it stays open.

This may be tmi, sorry but, i have my nipples and tongue pierced. Among others, but those are the ones im wprried about. Did/do any of you ladies have either done? And did you have to take them out, if so around how many weeks did you remove them?

The tongue is the fastest healing muscle in the body, as long as you keep it clean during the weeks healing proccess i think it should be ok, stay away from foods that might inflame it and stuff.. But i dont think you will get a clean hygienic piercer to do it because you are pregnant ..

I have mine don't also. 28 weeks now and no problem. And for the swallowing the ball. If it's plastic it shouldn't hurt.

True, in piercing shops they are very careful. But, there are a lot of people that have 'friends' pierce them with needles that could possibly be contaminated. Essentially what I was saying was that even if a needle had been used on someone else, the chances of that person having HIV are about 1%, so the chances of contracting it are pretty slim.
