Common Questions and Answers about Is sprintec the same as ortho cyclen

ortho-tri-cyclen

Avatar f tn My question is is what I am taking now the same as what I was taking before because that is what the pharmacy told me? If it is not the same can I stop them now or do I have to wait until I finish this one pack?
Avatar n tn I have also recently started Ortho-Tri-Cyclen Lo, and when I had my first withdrawal bleed about a week ago, that is when the symptoms arose. Any ideas what may be wrong?
Avatar f tn I thought the Active pills were going to stop my spotting since Ortho Tri Cyclen is actually strong, but instead its made me have a full blown period!!! Anyone know what could be going on?
Avatar f tn Now my causing says that the name brand has pink pills insted of green ( the last 7 pills ) and it spins to dispence every pill, and trinessa you have to punch trough the bottom to get the pills... Now I just want to know how the name brand of ortho tri cyclen really looks like, if anyone can provide a pic would be very helpful ...... Please I don't need anyone making fun of me here so for anyone that thinks this is just too stupid please don't post anything here ...
Avatar m tn I was debating between Ortho Cyclen, Ortho Tri Cyclen or Othro Tri Cyclen Lo.. I am currently on Ortho Cyclen but I was thinking why am I pumping all this hormones into my body each month. Me and my partner also use condoms as backup. I am even willing to try other brands if 1 is better? I guess I just dont under the difference between them all and the effect on your body good/bad. Thanks!
Avatar m tn ) I hope I am as lucky as you are with the Ortho Tri-Cyclen continuing to help me lose weight. So far the extra weight I gained during the 2 years of my hormonal imbalance is slowing melting away, but I am definitely seeing a difference. With regulating my periods, protecting against pregnancy, helping me lose weight, and clearing up my acne and making my skin softer, Ortho Tri-Cyclen really seems like a miracle drug!
Avatar f tn I went to the gyno yesterday and was given Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo to help regulate my periods. I have not had a period since March 2008. My doc told me to begin my first month of pills on the Sunday following the beginning of my next period. Problem is, i don't have any idea when that could be. Does anyone know if it would be harmful for me to begin taking the pills now and not wait for my next period?
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I'm usually on the Maternal and Child Health forum because I had a baby girl last year. But my question is more about women's health so, here I am :) I'm on birth control pills called Tri-sprintec. It's the generic of Ortho Tri-cyclen. I stopped taking them for a little while partly because my partner and I really have no time to be intimate and it's hard for me to remember to take them everyday. Anyhow, I started taking them again two months ago.
1699847 tn?1306967171 I have been on the pill for years now. I am currently on Ortho-tri-cyclen-lo and I am thinking about switching to Seasonique so I won't get 12 periods a year. I want to be on a pill that won't make me gain weight or give me major acne. Any tips/help.
Avatar f tn It is most effective if you take it at the same time daily, so I set my alarm on my cell phone to go off daily at the same time. If you start experiencing nausea while taking it, changing the time can work in some cases. My friend has the Mirena, and after a while, she stopped having periods altogether while on it. You replace it every five years if you continue to need it but can have it removed if you decide you want to get pregnant sooner. It's an IUD but has hormones.
Avatar f tn I always got my period when I started my green pills but this month I didnt. But as soon as I finished the green pill I had a light brown discharge only once. Just wondering what this could be?
Avatar n tn s lasted 3 months, it is probably PMDD...and maybe the Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo was helping the symptoms of PMDD, but now that she has switched, the symptoms are becoming visible. Tell her to go to her doctor, to see if it is PMDD.
Avatar n tn What you described sounds to me like an allergic reaction to the drug/hormones, I would get into the ER as soon as possible if this continues.
Avatar f tn Don't take Plan B when you're already on the pill. You're already protected by being on the pill. The only time you need to worry about talking the bc pill at the same time daily is when you're on the mini pill, which has a much higher failure rate when it's taken later. But being on the ortho tri cyclen the timing isn't important as long as it's not something majorly late. Like 12 hours late would be pushing it but 6 hours is not a big deal.
Avatar n tn There are many young women on this forum and they may have just the answer you need! I wish you luck as this should be one of the most wonderful and exciting times of your life..........hectic, crazy, chaotic.......yes, but not filled with anxiety. Keep us posted, OK?
Avatar f tn I am on ortho tri cyclen lo and am also prone to yeast infections. I want to try Azo Yeast to help control it. Will Azo interact with the pill?
Avatar n tn Ok...so i began taking the ortho tri-cyclen lo last friday as the quick start option. I am normally supposed to be on my period right now. BUT it has not started yet and i'm beginning to worry. Does taking the pills as the quick start prevent my period from normally happening? Or is it supposed to just start when i get to the "inactive" pills in the pack? Should i be worried that i may be pregnant??
Avatar f tn I did the same thing, doctors said I just needed to adjust to the hormones!
Avatar n tn t received any responses to your post. As for this one, I have had no experience with ortho tri cyclen, so I cannot answer your question. The only suggestion I can give is to see your doctor and have a blood test done to check for pregnancy. Sorry I couldn't be much help. :) But wanted you to know that I did read your post.
Avatar f tn So since my period came then and lasted that long, does that mean my period is trying to get back on track? Does ortho tri-cyclen really help for irregular periods? And when should I try for a baby after taking the pill for 3 months? My doctor put me on the pill for 3 months b/c Im trying to have a baby and I have been trying for over 2 years but nothing. Please tell me all u know about this or someone experienced this and got good results afterwards.
Avatar f tn Ortho Evra®, Ovcon® 35, Ortho Tri-Cyclen®, Othro-Cyclen®, Necon® 1/35, Alesse®, Levlite®, Tri-Levlen or Trivora.
1250698 tn?1371351279 I've been on Ortho-cyclen, Ortho-tri-cyclen, Ortho-tri-cyclen Lo, Nuvaring. The types I have not tried was progesterone only, shots, IUD, and implants. Nuvaring was my latest and that was the worst experience I have ever had. Every single type I have used, I have had the same symptoms: nausea, headaches, dizziness, irregular cycles, spotting, weight gain, and mood swings. Since May of this year, I have been doing it naturally, but I am still trying to figure out when I ovulate...
Avatar n tn I had my lap surgery in August 09, and have been on continuous BC since October 09 and my period (or breakthrough bleeding) hasn't stopped since I switched over - now going on 7 months! Previously I was taking Ortho-Tri-Cyclen Lo and since October I've tried Ortho Cyclen, Necon 1/35 (Ortho-Novum), Apri (Desogen), and now Zovia (Demulen). Sorry if this has been asked before, but does anyone who has tried taking continuous BC to stop their period have any insights on how long it took?
Avatar f tn s on ortho tri cyclen until my obgyn at the time had asked me that if wanted to try ortho tri cylen lo but this is a new state as of 3 year's ago now through i have been on birth control pills in a little over 3 year's ago now till today & I'm 16 year's old & very scared somewhat of this being my very first time on yasmin even though I'm actually on the generic version of yasmin called ocella 3mg / 0.
737515 tn?1252552423 I went from ortho tri cyclen lo, to ortho cyclen, to ortho tri cyclen. All of which have made me have anxiety. I was on the depo shot for years and beside minor bone loss i had no issues. Is there anyone who has had this problem and actually found an answer?? I am sexually active and not ready for a child at all.
Avatar f tn I also am on birth control and have been for the past three years but did just chance from ortho tri cyclen lo to regular ortho tri cyclen, about three months ago. Do you have any advice? I am in college and these headaches make it very hard to study. Thank you!
2020005 tn?1628125976 I stopped taking my Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo on the 20th of this month, but before I even stopped taking it (the 19th) I was having some light spotting, it continued for 3 days, just light brown/pink spotting, I noticed it was EW like, just brownish, does that mean I ovulated this month, or is that just a side effect of stopping my BC, having EWCM??? Is it possible to ovulate straight off from birth control?!
Avatar f tn i'm 16 years old. I'm on the birth control Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. and i've been on it for about a month and a half. i take it every single day and at roughly the same time. my boyfriend and i have had sex a couple times with a condom during this time and he did not ejaculate at all so i'm not worried about that. however, a couple nights ago we had sex without a condom and he pulled out and came on my stomach. i was just wondering if i was protected from pregnancy by now?
Avatar f tn m not sure if any *** got on or around the opening of my vagina. I am on the pill and I take it every night around the same time (within an hour), and I have not missed a day in over four months. My period started the following Monday, December 14th. I've felt bloated the last several days, but that could just be all the extra eating through the holidays. Other than that, I've had no symptoms of pregnancy.
