Common Questions and Answers about Is premarin generic

premarin

Avatar f tn Maybe Premarin is not a good fit for you since you still have (insane) hot flashes. Have you tried any other types of estrogen such as a gel, patch, or the estradiol tablet (generic Estrace)? I had to switch HRT's because the first one I was prescribed left me with too many low E symptoms.
Avatar n tn Hi there is now a generic for Vagifem, I am thrilled as the other was so expensive
Avatar f tn and treating the symptoms can be done w/the use of HRT and Premarin. If this is so, does anyone know how long it will take for the medicine to induce menopause, and how long will the medicine be needed to treat the symptoms? Since i'm uninsured and my period is making me very sick, especially those debilitating migraines, (probably, because i'm too old now) I'm trying to find a way to help myself. Thanks!
Avatar n tn My TSH is 0. My T4 is 12.3. (I do take Premarin.) My T3 Uptake is 30.2. I had my right tyroid gland removed in 1983. There was a benign tumor. I used to have a 2 reading for my TSH. (I had been taking Synthroid .1 for all of these years.) At Christmas I tried Armour. I was in bed for 3 weeks with what I thought was flu. My doctor put me back on Synthroid and gave me 1.33. The subesequent test showed 1/2 pt.TSH, so she began cutting the dosage. I am now at .
163305 tn?1333668571 By the mid-1990s, when Wyeth got caught in a patent battle over Premarin, Lindsay was a staunch Wyeth ally. He came out against approval of a generic version of the drug that would have cut into sales even though the generic form would have made it easier for osteoporosis patients to receive therapy.
Avatar n tn I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product? They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C. Please advise asap...i'm not able to sleep properly thinking that my blood might get infected...please advice..
Avatar f tn Do I need to continue taking Premarin .0625 or can I discontinue since I am past meopause age.
880900 tn?1467270141 m talking about and has put me back on Premarin, which is very expensive here. Can anyone tell me what the full name of CES is and/or where I can find more information about it? Thanks so much!
Avatar m tn I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. My gen practioner has suggested prozac ... sorry but that seems a bit severe.
Avatar f tn I suffer from Hashimotos autoimmune disease for many years and was diagnosed last year with Lupus after suffering many years with leukopenia which was caused by the Lupus or the Premarin. I took myself off of Premarin in July 2016 and I feel so much better. My hair is now growing back after losing about 3/4 of it during a Lupus flare-up that lasted over 7 months. My muscle aches are gone and my blood counts are now registering normal.
Avatar n tn Can I use Premarin cream along with a yeast medication(Diflucan)? Does the moisture in the Premarin cream keep a yeast infection from healing?
Avatar f tn Then they noticed that cases of endometrial cancer among Premarin users were going through the roof - the Premarin was causing endometrial hyperplasia, which was placing these women at high risk of endometrial cancer. It was then that they developed Prempro, which adds progestins to the mix, and supposedly reduces these risks.
Avatar f tn The patches you were on as well as Premarin are all estrogen. The patches are bio-identical but Premarin is not. And yes, estrogen can stimulate any remaining endo. Some doctors say that going without estrogen for a certain period of time post-op to allow the lesions to die off reduces this risk. Others say that taking progesterone with the estrogen reduces this "endo flare" risk. Regardless of the endo issue, going without hormones can be a very miserable existence.
691935 tn?1421027090 Well, that stinks. Sorry this is such a hard adjustment for you. Does your doctor have any supplementation ideas? You don't want cancer . . . so if the risk increases greatly, that is reason to get off the premarin but I'm sure your body is craving the hormone! Hope you are doing okay. Oh, and I have ringing and the sound issue in my ears from time to time. I have inner ear tube dysfunction. I've had it long before menopause and my hormonal issues.
Avatar n tn I have very bad hot flashes, one doctor prescribed Premarin, another Yazmin, wich pill should I take???? I take 50 mg. of captopril for hight blood pressure, the rest of my health is good.
Avatar f tn There is a natural premarin mde from equine's and a manmade version? Ive heard about HRT being made from the urine of female horses and how it is done, which I find crueeel ;( but guess my questions is what is the manmade version? Im on Prempro but dont know where it came from horse or manmade???
Avatar f tn i had full hysterectomy in october 2009 for ovarian cyst. then my doctor gave me premarin 0.06 1 tablet per day.this medicine is very good.i feel very well to take this.but there is a problem .in 2009 i was 45 kg and now i am 65 kg.please help me and give me a suggestion what will i do and how will i reduce my overweight.
Avatar n tn I had a total hysterectomy 20 years ago. I was prescribed Premarin daily which I took for the next 15 year until the scare of it being direclty involved in the cause of some breast cancers. I stopped immediately. I have fought the battle of hot flashes for the past 6 years and they are starting to taper off. I am now 61 years old. But I have have an increasing problem with hair loss.
Avatar n tn If the TSH is 6 - you are hypothyroid and may need more medication. The need for more meds is likely due to premarin (estrogen binds thyroid hormone and increases the amount of replacement meds needed in many patients). The symptoms are mixed and may be more menopausal than thyroid.
Avatar f tn Luckily my job is very felxible and it is not affected by my lousy moods..but my hubby is ready to kill me. He thinks it's all in my head and to "snap out of it". Help, anyone?? (I am on 100 mgs of Zoloft for GAD (down from 200), have been for years. Also Klonipn for the GAD and I hate taking either/both. Have worked my fanny off to lose 30 lbs in the last year....still could lose another 30, but it's so depressingly slow.
405614 tn?1329144114 Hi, Kathy-- I have heard that there is an association. I may have heard that from Quix, but I can't remember, of course, where exactly I picked it up. It's odd that Premarin would flare your symptoms if pregnancy, especially late pregnancy, is supposed to suppress them (I'm thinking of estrogen load; it is sequestered somewhat by proteins during pregnancy, but if I remember correctly, folks aver that it's the extra estrogen that confers some relief from MS)...
Avatar f tn also recommended hormonal tablet and cream which is Premarin 0.625 and premarin cream for 6 months. Now I want to know whetherr there are any side effects to it and if any, what are they and what can i do? Please let me know, as I am a bit tensed.
Avatar f tn That is odd but I've heard of other cases where women will do fine on a certain HRT and then it just stops working or being as effective. Do you take it at night? If so, try switching to the morning. I would think dose timing would be more of an issue with a straight estradiol product than Premarin but that would be worth trying if you take it at night. Are you also taking something to protect your uterus or did you have a hysterectomy?
2176548 tn?1340677817 Yes that is a side effect for sure with the Lupron. Premarin I wasnt on it long enough as it was causing me yeast infections. I will have to do some research on the Medroxy one. Do you know if its a progesterone based drug?
