Avatar f tn Good morning I'm being treated for pneumonia just started antibiotics last nite feeling a lol worse off but my question is walking pneumonia contagious......it's funny but ct images showed fluid on right lung and I have side pain ouchee! But now more symptoms are appearing.
Avatar f tn m making an educated guess based on the fact that they give pregnant women flu shots because they can pass on some of that to their babies before their born to help them fight off any germs they may encounter when they're first born. I was given the flu shot in November of last year b/c my son was going to be born smack dab in the middle of flu season (January). So, he may have had enough of my immunities passed on that he didn't get sick.
Avatar f tn Novembermommy is correct. Pneumonia isn't really contagious, its the cold/virus that can lead to pneumonia which is contagious. Also if he's been on antibiotics for 24hrs he's not considered contagious anymore anyway.
Avatar f tn they just want me to continue with it I guess. Also, does walking pneumonia have to do with breathing problems since I no longer have that cough? The cough lasted a week and now it's gone, which is kind of strange.
Avatar m tn type of bacteria for pneumonia but there are other bacteria that can cause pneumonia. So if you have frequent urination that is hard to go and and especially if it burns when you go that could be a sign of a urinary tract infection. If it is gone then I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe it was a transitory bacterial colonization and not really infection. If you get it back then you can get a urine culture done.
Avatar m tn These complications can include dehydration, ear or sinus infections, and bacterial or viral pneumonia, which can fill the air sacs in the lungs with pus or fluid, making it difficult to breathe and depriving older patients of adequate oxygen. In some cases, pneumonia may be asymptomatic, but it is still contagious if it results from a bacterial or viral infection.
Avatar f tn I'm sick but I don't know if Its something serious.iv been drinking tea and taking cough drops My mom has pneumonia But I don't know if I have it too or if I just have a cold. Is it safe to be sick while pregnant.
Avatar n tn Is it possible that she is already infected as early as now? If so, is she infectious, even if she isn't coughing or sneezing yet? I read in CDC that most cases are transmitted through coughing and sneezing in close contact, so if she's infected already but still not coughing or sneezing, would she be contagious already? Thank you so much in advance.
Avatar m tn would systemic candida cause sensory neural hearing loss .I have severe itching in my nose and on my face if I don't shave every day .it seems to be something fungal or bacterial you can see it in my mucous under high magnification I just don't know how to identify it by name .the only thing I can tell you is that it is affected by saline and peppermint altoids .I am eating immune boosting foods and drinks .
Avatar f tn I am not a doctor but I have Googled your question and this is what I found: "Pneumonia in children and adults is caused by bacteria, virus, fungi or protozoa. Out of these, bacteria are the most common microorganisms, that have been found to cause pneumonia. These microorganisms usually enter the body through mouth, nose and eyes, and then infect the lungs, especially the air sacs or alveoli of the lungs. Pneumonia is more commonly found to affect the lower lobes of the lungs.
Avatar f tn that they take antibiotics for is due to a primary virus that gave them the secondary infection. So, a cold --- that IS contagious that caused 'gunk' to get thick in sinuses, bronchial tubes or lungs and then that festered into an infection that you need antibiotics to treat. The initial virus is contagious and for how long varies. Usually a week, I'd say.
Avatar n tn my daughter is now 16 month old and they told be not to start them on any solid foods till five months i started her at 4 months and she is fine.. just do not put it in there bottles.
Avatar f tn The numbers don't mean much. You have to state the reference ranges too. Active - we need to know your ALT, AST Contagious - we need to know your hbvdna.
Avatar n tn t believe there is concrete evidence to say that you are contagious but the evidence is mounting that some pathogens (EBV probably included) are communicable. So you might not want to share your drinks with your relatives. I hope this helps !
Avatar n tn Pneumonia is a very serious lung infection that is caused by several different types of bacteria or viruses. Since you got well and then got sick again, you may either have a resistant strain, or have picked up a secondary infection. Yellow phlegm with a clear x-ray sounds like bronchitis. Either way, you need to see a pulmonary doctor to prescribe a different antibiotic to treat this new infection. Be sure to get lots of rest and drink plenty of fluids.
Avatar n tn Thanks, yllas. what did your doctor say - is it curable? is it contagious? I don't recall having pneumonia or whooping cough before. my brother had bronchopneumonia when he was 3 years. but he seems to be in perfect health, in fact his xray result last year was clear. I really worried that his might affect my pre employment. I already signed my probationary contract but unfavorable medical results may be grounds for them to revoke my contract.
Avatar n tn My 20 y.o..son has been dx with this. He has had several freezing treatments to remove them. He has seen a decrease in the formation of the bumps, but i am worried that he will have another "flare up" when he returns to college. he was very run down during the last semester (he had pneumonia) and i wonder how much that had to do with him getting this disease. I understand that this is considered an STD, but can also be gotten through other means (sharing towels etc,)...
242516 tn?1368223905 t hear anything in your lungs, you can be reassured that pneumonia is unlikely. If your doctor is worried that you might have pneumonia, a chest x-ray can look to see if there's an infection, especially for those who have coughed for more than 3 weeks.
Avatar n tn MRSA is very contagious. It can be passed by person to person through touch I believe. http://www.themrsavirus.com/mrsa-transmission.
11572335 tn?1419480706 I was hoping for my little guy to come sooner but I have the flu and doctor says it can be dangerous for baby to become contagious once he has been delivered. Being sick *****! I just want to be better and meet my little man.
Avatar f tn Other things like strep throat is contagious. Strep and staph are two contagious bacterias. Hope you feel better.
Avatar f tn yes being always cold is the real indication to have a chronic infection. Yes it is passed from person to person as it is contagious. The pneumonia I have is NOT through a tick bite. Mycoplasma can be transmitted by insects but also not necessarily.
Avatar f tn My dr said about 30% of women are carriers of the bacteria and it is not harmful to us, but is to baby. They will give 2 doses of penicillin in your IV while in labor to protect baby from the bacteria. Don't worry about it love!
Avatar f tn Called my primary care doctor and he wants to see me tomorrow to see if I have pneumonia. I have asthma, and am prone to pneumonia. I had pneumonia in my first trimester with my first pregnancy, and lost the baby at the end of my 12th week. I'm kind of freaking out. Now that I'm in my 3rd trimester, I'm worried about preterm labor now (a lot of websites say it can happen with pneumonia). Any words of encouragement?
Avatar f tn The hospital told me little girls, and black and Hispanic babies tend to do better early for some reason while white baby boys tend to struggle a little bit if they are early. Some babies are perfectly fine that early and get to go home normal time though.
Avatar f tn org/diseases-conditions/tuberculosis/symptoms-causes/syc-20351250 The densities sound to be consistent with what is found when there is infection such as TB or pneumonia. When do you next see your doctor?
Avatar m tn s more like a common cold in adults but for kids his age is more like Bronchiolitis. I had to take him to the ER because of the fever and congestion. He has been prescribed antibiotics b/c they also thing there is mild case of pneumonia and begining stages of an ear infection. How did he get this?
